From anything I've heard or read after Trump hung around Epstein and heard or maybe seen some of what was going on Trump told the authorities that Epstein was up to no good . So maybe the picture happened and he did hang with him but once he found out he was a scum bag he couldn't just sit back and let it go on .

I find this part of the story interesting.

They had been friends for years and then Trump rats him out.  Your theory is plausible I guess .  Trump didn't know about the shenanigans. Found out. And then did his civic duty to report it to authorities and help.

Or, knowing President Trump's need for revenge in all things big or small, makes me wonder if maybe Jeffrey double crossed him somewhere so President Trump got some sweet revenge.

I know this is a hot button issue for you, Red, and I can certainly appreciate that.

The Jet use/cost is a fair argument, as is the use of Zoom to eliminate cost.  I have no idea what other scheduled meetings or travel coincided with that trip, the importance of the trip etc, but let’s assume you’re right—it was a 1.5 hour business trip that could have been handled with a phone call.  Fair criticism. We each decide where it falls in our outrage meter and vote accordingly.

The carbon footprint hypocrisy is aligned with the other side, not this one.

I too believe there is a lot hype and BS of the leftys take on some of this. Personally I'm really tired of hearing what all we local schmucks must do to save the planet.  I do my part by recycling, driving a 13 year old car with less than 40,000 miles on it which has polluted less in 13 years than all those people in their new electric cars, etc.  Meanwhile those with the bucks and power do stuff like flying cross country on taxpayers dime for a 90 minute meeting, or 1/2 way across the world to attend Hunter's trial or The Blue Angels coming to town dumping 600 tons of carbon or Building massive data centers polluting out the wazoo.  So why bother?

That was a minor point of my post. The $200,000 per hour is only to fly the airplane (how is the refurbishing big beautiful airplane going?).  There's also the cost of bringing the secret service and the beast and all their other paraphanalia.  President Trump's big campaign pledge was to stop fraud, waste, and abuse for every else except him and his staff I guess.

Liberals/Democrats made a huge mistake by trying save the planet the hard way, forcing change on people. Carbon sequestration should have been the focus from the beginning. If we put a man on the moon we can create technologies that take carbon out of the atmosphere. Converting to non-polluting energy sources is a great idea but forcing people to drive cars they don't like is just not going to work.

I agree with both points. Adding to that, one topic that I have rarely seen come up anywhere is the amount of energy that a generative AI search burns compared to a normal one.  The amount is exponentially more.  Despite that Google has made it their default and there is no option to opt-out, or uniform easy way to disable it. Why should I only turn my AC to 79 degrees, stop eating meat while paying more money for hyper processed "plant based" alternatives and buy a twice as expensive electric car with no resale value when used and a battery that is damaging to the environment when Big Tech just made something that burns that much energy a default?  We can certainly make individual changes because we think that it is the right thing to do, but forcing intrusive, expensive and impractical lifestyles on regular people while those on top did not follow suit was never the answer.

The solution to some problems is obvious, and quite inexpensive...

But, hard work is often required...

Too many people who cry all day about carbon emissions will never lift a finger to do what this man has done...

Instead, they beg for higher taxes and expensive, inefficient technological interventions...

Yeah, this new e building requirement in NYS is along those lines.  Electric heat sounds great, until your power goes out during a blizzard and you have to have a gas generator around to keep your family from freezing.  I'm not against electric heat at all.  But forcing it upon people as electric bills skyrocket is not a good plan.  Perhaps when the nuke plant comes online and we have better investments in solar and wind energy harvest it will be more feasible and practical.

Carbon isn't even the most prevalent greenhouse gas.

Carbon is not the problem, Libnuts are the problem.

These are not smart people, they take all their cues from the news media. Biden could've released the "Epstein Files." The Libnuts were not calling for that at the time because the news media didn't tell them to.

Epstein was arrested by the feds under TRUMP. Trump knows what he's doing. He's enjoying the Libs "calling for the release of the Epstein Files."

He wouldn't have had Bondi do the previous dog & pony show if that weren't the case. He's spinning them up and they are...not smart.

I think most sensible people that have a concern recognize a certain grift-like tendency with the liberals  trying to “save the planet” by taxing people to death, while noting a complete disregard for personal practices that would actually contribute to the planet-saving objectives they preach for everyone else.

Yes. Good job WSJ. To your knowledge, are the reliable mainstream media outlets you cheer on reporting the, you know, news about the Russian collusion clusterfk?

I just took a look at nbcnews.com. I believe they are part of the reliable mainstream media. Nothing to be found but thankfully they are bringing us this important information:

Hey, how about I link to an entirely unrelated article from an entirely unrelated news organization!

That'll work, right?

It’s not just that it will work, I think it’s a board requirement.

Just showing the priorities of one of the mainstreamest of news outlets. Sorry to have offended.

Ya, it leads back to Big Oil which can care less about saving the planet from the existential threat of climate change

Existential Threat® is the preferred stylization when used by a liberal.
