The answer is Gabe Davis.  Signing him doesn't greatly impact the Wr room.  Since his release however, Bills fans are now almost unanimous that the Wr room is full.  A wr who averages 600 yards and 6 Tds has no shot of making the roster.  Im glad Buffalo has finally put a complete room around Allen.  Good thing they didn't draft a wr early because they would not have made the team.

All better than Gabe today. You carrying 6 WRs this year?

Can you put puke and disagree on the same post? If not, I'm going to need Mat68 to post again to show my true dissatisfaction with his thoughts

Are we sure that they are all better or is that just because they are current Bills? Shakir is the only one that I’m sure is a better receiver than Gabe. Gabe is obviously limited but what he does is what they’re missing. I’m not advocating for or against Gabe. He’s a role player. The point is 4 of the 5 Bills receivers are roles players. The 5th is also a role player, he just happens to be top 5-10 at his role in the league.

70% of Josh Allen's career interceptions come from targeting Gabe Davis. We lost 2 games in his final year here because he ran wrong routes/ wasn't on the same page as Josh.

Why exactly do you want him?

I could keep 6 or 5.  Like I said Davis was the catalyst to get the answer if Buffalo has done enough at Wr.  Seems like they have.

The other thing to think about with Davis is that his contract had offset language. That means he will be playing for league minimum. I don’t think that they have any WRs that they can cut and gain savings. Either way, Gabe is vet minimum. That will be important for whomever picks him up. He will almost certainly play for a contender for that reason. If he’s making the minimum no matter where he is, why wouldn’t he go to a contender that offers him the best opportunity?

Yes, better. For performance or potential. Without any question.

Setting aside the pros and cons of signing him, do we really need another Gabe Davis thread?

Just for that, I'm starting another one.

The second Gabe Davis was released, Elijah Moore became an uncuttable roster lock, which is probably surprising to him and his agent as he was initially a FA that lasted post-draft, and is on his 3rd team in 4 years.

OK, so 5. Who are you cutting of those 5?

Honestly, It boils down to what Josh wants.  If he wants to bring him back he will talk Beane into it as Beane likely doesn't need too much convincing. Brandon LOVES him some Gabe Davis.

I'm pretty sure the OP's point is that as soon as Davis became available, many Bills fans started saying we are all set at WR, don't need him, etc..  Hence he immediately "made the wide receiver room better".

I like Palmer, Moore and Samuel. Gabe has been a more productive NFL receiver than all 3.  Coleman of 2024 is a worse player than Gabe Davis or 2022 & 2023. Again, I’m not advocating for or against Gabe but there is nothing to support that those guys are better than him at this point other than hope. It’s fine to be optimistic but to be like, “we don’t need Gabe because we have Josh Palmer & Elijah Moore” is crazy.

Gabe is probably the 2nd best WR currently available behind Keenan Allen. He will likely get offers far and away higher than what we could offer. They said maybe the Steelers would be interested as a Pickens replacement

Got it. I had to re-read it. Oddly worded but I understand now.

No different than why they bring any min vet in after the draft competition.  A lot of potential in the room without a lot of production.

Been talked about to death in the Gabe thread. Many fans (like myself) don't mind kicking the tires on a vet minimum in camp, but he's not likely to be a difference maker as he wasn't capable of being a WR2 when he was here. Some fans just don't think he has anything and isn't even worth a 90 man roster spot. Personally given that I don't think a 90 man roster spot is that valuable why not kick the tires?

He will play for the vet minimum this year. His Jags contract has offset language. That means every dollar over the minimum that someone else wants to pay a dollar comes off the Jags deal. There is no incentive, at all, to play for more than the minimum. Gabe makes no more money.
