That one worked out o.k. for us. Correct, and Japan is still not innocent, but China is many magnitudes worse. A complete scam as a trading partner, on all levels. Simply horrible. 1
Big Blitz Posted Sunday at 11:53 PM Posted Sunday at 11:53 PM Well. I didn’t see this coming. But the man is standing up for Hollywood. Hollywood! I wish he could tweet - “Hollywood is making tremendous must see movies. In theaters and on streams. They feature the best actors and scripts. In no way are they concerned with DEI first and checking off this box and that box for this group of people or that. Only the best!” Sadly, he cannot tweet that. 1 1

I'd like to see the reciprocal tariffs on U.S.-produced music. That would be a nice way to kill one of the industries in which the U.S. remains dominant.

American culture has remained a valuable assert for decades. Others wanted to be us and imitate us largely due to images they witnessed in movies. He single handedly crashed the value of it and now wants to crush it with a movie tariff war. We finally agree. This is a very bad idea.
Roundybout Posted yesterday at 12:42 PM Posted yesterday at 12:42 PM They could film Lord of the Rings in the Bronx 1

FTA: Through all the market’s tumult, U.S. companies have continued to deliver profit reports for the start of the year that have topped analysts’ expectations. Stock prices tend to follow profits over the long term, and that’s given the market a notable boost. Three out of every four companies in the S&P 500 have beaten analysts’ expectations for profits in recent weeks, including such market heavyweights as Microsoft and Meta Platforms. They’re on track to deliver growth of nearly 13% from a year earlier, according to FactSet. https://fortune.com/2025/05/04/stock-market-rebound-sp500-trump-trade-war-liberation-day-tariffs/

Oops, looks like the gang that couldn't shoot straight once again missed something; most incompetent administration in history.
The Frankish Reich Posted 22 hours ago Author Posted 22 hours ago NEVER SAW THIS COMING: WHITE HOUSE "CLARIFIES" TARIFF ON FOREIGN-FILMED MOVIES https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/business/business-news/white-house-clarifies-trump-movie-tariff-1236207216/ Among other productions, it appears that America's Leading Antisemite is planning to film another Christ movie abroad. Dumbest President in history? I think so.

Roundybout Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Thank god we have this man to save us from the oligarchy. Just like Pope Francis, he is. 1 1
Niagara Bill Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago So what exactly has a tariff in movies. The digital copy? The cost of production. Food vending costs. The salary of actors? Weinstiens hotel rooms? Only US based movie studios. Documentaries about the Grand Canyon, or docs about Iceland, or docs about the Sahara Desert. Can you film climbing Mt Everest? Anything filmed outside the 12 mile limit in the Pacific.

A character may need a rare condition diagnosed. It could be great!

SCBills Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Again.. I’m on the fence with the whole tariff thing, but this type of response in China feels like it should be reported on by more than just a few outlets. Its in all of our best interests for China to be forced to bend the knee, regardless of how you feel about Trump. 1
