As a younger person did you ever envision yourself as being a whining btch as an old man? Good lord. That’s embarrassing! I’m sad for Susan Collins’ alma mater that you find it clever.

Dude. I'll be with friends.  We'll go for sushi and cider afterwards.  Yes, this is how I envisioned myself.

Should be fun.  I'm the designated "medic", I guess to give out band aids for blisters

I'll be there with my drum as I have been for several others.  my matching snare drum and I join in a drum circle and we play for 1 1/2 hours non stop.  Keeps the protesters shaking their butts.  A good time is had by all.

says the poster who has never gotten over his crying when mommy took him to the Dr for his childhood vaccinations.

A lot of the anti-vaxx stuff is nothing more than fear of needles.

less protesters today probably due to heat and late planning. (it was organized 3 days ago).  Still, lots of energy and passion.  more aggravation from rednecks this time:  revving engines and blasting stereos and the occasional middle finger.  One moron told a female friend to "get a life" from his crappy truck.   She's quite accomplished and successful.  She blew him kisses which really pi$$ed him off..  He floored it to leave as if that  bothered us.  Lots of cool folks to hang with.  It was fun.

Lol.  Notice the protesters lack of diversity and how moat came from outside the city and the upscale areas.

They want the killings and suffering of the people to continue.  Ironic as the majority of the victims of DC violent crime are minorities, women and children.

Ours was smaller too since it was last minute. I almost didn't go because of that.  Didn't see any of what you did. Ours are peaceful. Of course I was concentrating more on rocking out and making sure butts were shaking.   Only myself and 2 other drummers but it was all good.

Afterwards a lady bought us lunch.  Win. Win. So much winning.

the protesters were not aggressive or violent.  There wasn't any danger.  There was trustworthy law enforcement in abundance.  Mostly, people either honked in support or just drove by.

Understandable-all the great protests in the past came after a minimum 5 days planning and occurred on sunny days with temps running between 55-62, wind out of the south-southwest at 5 mph or less.

Glad to hear you had fun, but your story about the guy in the truck sounds…implausible.  This fellow in the truck, let’s call him Earl, his big gotcha was “Get a life!”, and blowing him kisses caused him to “floor it” Dukes of Hazard style?   What does her being quite accomplished and successful have to do with the story?  How would he know that?

It was probably something like this but with more people in pickups and with successful women blowing kisses and more people in pickups making like a banana and leafing.

The only time I "protested" was in 2000 in SF  on Black Friday. for Bush Jr in the hanging chad  matter. Since it was a day off, I went. First we marched around Union Square (the center of the shopping district where Neiman Marcus, etc were). The lefty/druggie loons were there to  protest fur and were banging on 5 gallon buckets  but not singing. We used it as  rhythm for our "Bush won Gore lost"  chant. Had one of the scum spit on a senior lady in our group. We did our chant as one of the cable cars stopped in front of us. The tourist's jaws dropped.

Had a permit and had the cops escort us down Market street towards the Ferry Building. Lots of middle fingers which we replied to with blowing kisses and saying "Thank You! Bush is #1!". Just made them seethe more.  At oe point, we spotted a funeral coming and quieted and hung our heads in respect while the counter protesters (<12) kept yelling. The cop yells at them, "A funeral is coming  A-hole!" . At the end we gave a hip-hip-hooray to the cops and they said we were the nicest protesters they had ever seen.
