I know this concept is hard for you ghouls to comprehend, but lets examine what the term ICU means:

Quote

ICU: Intensive care unit. The intensive care unit is a designated area of a hospital facility that is dedicated to the care of patients who are seriously ill.

I heard his press conference and there are some smaller hospitals that are using ICU beds for regular hospital bed usage.

If you want to get an accurate true ICU count, then you count those that are using the beds for it's intended purpose.

Something you'd never know about from watching the "news" is that deaths from the virus have been dropping dramatically for the last two months.

Instead all they serve up is shrieking about a "spike in cases".

Interesting... A hospital loses money if they have non-ICU patients in ICU beds (At least the ones in Chautauqua county do/would...) Did he give any specific examples of this happening?

A truly sad day in your and fellow travelers' houses, isn't it?

No, no specifics.   Does that mean he is lying?

And What is wrong with what he said?  I don't need a Panic Porn interpretation of his words,   I just need for you view the words as they are and tell me what part of what was said that is objectionable?

Quote

He doesn't want hospitals to report the number of patients in ICU beds. He only wants hospitals to report number of patients in ICU beds who require an “intensive level of care.”

The reasoning he provided was sound.

I don't understand why you libs aren't praising this guy.  He did much better than Cuomo, less than 3200 total deaths in Florida and near 32,000.  That is 1000% higher for CUomo and New York and they both have the same population.  You should be "liking" all my factual data posts of how Florida and Texas have led the way in how the states have handled it.  But for some morbid reason you guys seem upset that Texas and Florida have way over performed the states controlled by Democrats.

Like I said yesterday and today, they are ghouls.

They root for death provided it's in Republican controlled areas.

You sound bothered by this positive trend.

It would be sound if there was a specific example of this happening. The only reason non ICU patients would be in an ICU bed is because the non ICU beds in the hospital are full.

It's a brutal quote and a terrible soundbite for anyone who still has respect for how Florida is going about handling the crisis.

Correct....That goes without saying.  So what's the problem?  We know that statewide there aren't hospital bed shortages based off the statewide data.  If there are a few hospitals that are making due by doing this, what's the big deal?  Why are you so offended by some incredibly small subset of occurrences?

Don't answer that, we know why.

That's why the quote is interesting. Curious as to the specifics.

Not offended

Because he's defensive and understandably so.  He has protected his constituents much more so than Cuomo, yet Cuomo gets all the adoring coverage and softball questions and when he does get a tough question, he deflects and there is little to no followup.   Yet DeSantis gets hammered not just from the South Florida, Orlando and Tampa newspapers but nationally.  And it's not warranted.  So yeah, he's wanting reporting to report things factually but also in a way that is more favorable towards him.  It's not as if that he is requesting for something to be reported with dishonest motives.

Whatever. He's a politician - criticism comes with the territory from both sides. It was a terrible quote with little nuance (especially given this fact you referenced - We know that statewide there aren't hospital bed shortages based off the statewide dataand if there is not a specific hospital doing this - yes - he is requesting something with dishonest motives.

Also ***** Cuomo. Not sure why you think I love him?

DeSantis is doing a hell of a job here, I can't imagine what this place would look like now if that meth head got elected instead

Probably the same since the #FakeVirus doesn't give much of a ***** about politics.

Agreed.  Why isn't Newsome getting grilled despite a similar case rate and death rate to Florida and Texas?  NYC obviously was the perfect breeding ground for the virus in March and April but Cuomo's decision to keep the subway system open and the confusing nursing home policy should be scrutinized.
