seems the good doc was "unintentionally citing outdated numbers" from some theoretical "study"

"The research was not conducted by Dr. Sebastianelli or Penn State. Dr. Sebastianelli wishes to clarify this point, and apologize for any confusion.

 

"Additionally, some have inferred his comments may have related directly to Penn State student athletes. At this time, there have been no cases of myocarditis in COVID-19 positive student-athletes at Penn State."

 

0 cases at Penn State - but the good doc from Penn State thought it wise to push for Big 10 to cancel all sports

This is my biggest beef with the coverage of the crisis.  There has been zero follow up on the initial frightening stories that the press ran with, especially when the original premise turned out not to be as scary as initially reported.   It's not only incompetent, it's deadly, because it helps form bad public policy that results in more deaths over the long term.

the bigger problem is that the bogus info is being intentionally created to drive an agenda

 

the most glaring example is the totally fabricated Lancet study to trash Hydrochloraquane

it worked, because the zinc / HCQ highly effective treatment is still mostly taboo in the US

An equally annoying aspect of the coverage is that if you even ask for clarifications or seeing the underlying studies you are "anti-science."

 

Would this walk back have ever occurred had the Big 11 not been shamed into finally starting their season?

I remember the earliest reports had the virus living on metal surfaces for "up to a month."

I'd call it infuriating. Anyone who does this you can immediately dismiss as not knowing the first thing about scientific inquiry.  This is one of the foundational principles of science...question everything!! Question your own data and question everyone else as well.   When we eventually get back to having scientific conferences again anyone can go see this for themselves by meandering through the talks and poster sessions.  Everyone is getting grilled and having to defend their data, results and conclusions.  It is expected and encouraged.  Sometimes things actually get heated among the nerdy scientists, but that's what science is all about.

Sounds like you just want to question everything to the point of muddying the waters. Masks work, for instance. You questioning that?

Fake news.  Masks were delivered through a similar effort.  HHS has distributed 600 million masks to in need areas of the country and many more to schools last month.

Virus typically clings to droplets that are too large to pass through a mask. Virus itself is rarely airborne without being attached to droplets of some sort (Sweat, water, spit, mucus, etc).

1) this is no big deal, everyone needs to go on their lives. No evidence of human to human transmission

2) does appear to be spreading, but should nothing to worry about. 
3) absolutely no need for anyone to wear a a mask. 
 

4) looks like final death toll will be 60k
5)it will recede in the summer months, no doubt, but we need to remain vigilent

6) wear masks , will help prevent spread from you to me

He's right

I trust him, he's an expert. Can you post links to prove he said those things? He's been consistent from what I've seen. 

 

And, you also doubt global warming? Or something along those line?
