First down play calling

I absolutely HATE the shell this team goes into when they get a lead. After the go ahead TD we got a quick three and out. Then what happened on offense they go into their conservative shell.

keep their damn foot on the gas. Believe in Allen. Notice how Arians with Winston never took the ball out of his hands with all the picks he threw.

Guess what McD this game showed your defense will break.

it almost cost us in Pitt doing their same thing killing the ball at half when you had 2 minutes and 3 timeouts because you are scared to actually allow your QB (one you traded up for) to put a game on his shoulders.

The argument that Buffalo went "into a shell"  is at best inconclusive. They had TWO possessions win the lead. Neither were that much different than all the other possessions beforehand.

matter a beautiful 53 yard Dime to Brown for a TD and a quick 3 and out what where the next three plays on offense?

Actually look at the first down plays and you will see that you are totally and completely wrong, but why should that matter.

For the games on first down the Bills ran 10 times and dropped back to pass 11 times (one was a sack).  So they actually passed more on first down than ran.  Whoops.

In addition - the run mix yielded 4 runs on first down of 5 yards or more and 5 runs of 1 yard or less.

I am not sure what you expect, but considering they had good balance on 1st down plays between run and pass and considering half of the 1st down runs were for over 3 yards - why should he go away.  Yes it would be great if the 5 carries of 1 yard or less went away, but before the play you do not know which plays are going to work and which are not and the facts remain Daboll called a very balanced and did not fall into an unimaginative place - you are just clouded by a faulty memory of the game.

The longer gains happened earlier in the game and were getting shutdown later in the game the OC needs to have a finger on the pulse and  be situationally aware  of what’s working. You can’t just look at stats without analyzing them...

Say again?

He saying we scored on on a 53 yard dime to Brown, then did 3 runs in a row cause we went conservative, not hard to understand actually...

Geez, Meatloaf, too much coffee?  So, all the Bills needed to do was throw another 53yard TD?  That's brilliant. Of course, a few good runs set up that touchdown but I guess that doesn't matter.

Are you drunk or just don’t understand the finer points of the game? The game is not static, what works in the first quarter may not working in the 3rd or 4th, does that nuance escape you? If your going to post all those stats, be prepared to back them up, not just throw them out there and take the position there I said it and nobody can question me.

Yet you are stating as fact the plays will not work when it work before. That makes no sense.

Yes, you are angry they lost and want to lash out and call for the firing of all the coaches but you are simply irrational. Grow up.

Was anyone else bothered by Daboll's atrocious first down play calling?  Even into the 4th quarter he kept running Singletary between the tackles nearly every drive start and most first down plays.  I'm not sure any of them yielded more than 2 yards and they mostly ended up in 2-9 or 2-10.  He just wouldn't change it up.  Every time they lose, my first culprit is unimaginative play calling...

If they're going to run some one between the tackles why don't they use the guy that makes hay running there & has had a HOF career instead of siting him & only putting him on the field for 2 plays & don't even give him 1 rush !!

Head scratchers abound this year in coaching decisions, you have the talent that you are looking for yet you don't take advantage of it being right there in front of you !!

I've been bothered by the play calling in general all year.

I don't feel we self-scout.

Biff from Tonawanda can sit on his couch and look at the personnel down and distance and say "Gonna be a run"  "Gonna dial up a deep ball here"
