Level of opponent

If one goes with the notion they're better this year, then the 3 games they won is no surprise.

Still debatable if the Bills are good, but winning games your expected to win in a 16 game season is a good indicator of the teams direction. A good showing Sunday, W or L, is needed to convince they're better.

I'm not surprised at all with all of the new personnel on offense.  I expected miscues early in the season as the O line learns how to work with one another and Josh gets settled in with all new skill position guys.  Actually has been smoother than I expected. You have to figure Daboll is still learning what works best with all of the new guys as well.  I think the offense will get better as the season moves along.  At some point in time you figure they get Foster more involved.

Simple question, is this a team that just seems to play to the level of their opponent?  I would like to think that they are better than the teams they have played by more than the scores would reflect.  What do you think?

How would we know?  We've only played 3 pretty lousy football teams so far.

Against thr jets..they drove ball but made some mistakes, turnovers, bad plays that killed drive costing them points

with the giants I think they intentionally kept it st 2 score game. 3 score lead thrn a abq vhange

cincinati..similar to the jets..mistakes were drive killers. Could have been 24-0 at half.

I hope so. The bengals game would've been a blowout of not for Yeldon's fumble & the bad INT. It's crazy how easliy the tide can turn in a game, what should be a blowout becomes a near loss.

Week 1 was predicted to look like a preseason game with mistakes and it was. The Giants game corrected those mistakes v. a veteran qb and we won by 14.  Week 3 we dominated the Bengals in the 1st half yet more turnovers ensued.  The concept of playing down or up to your opponents has been going on in sports forever.  The Bills are still an improving work in progress, just like their qb.  It wouldn't surprise me to see us battle NE toe to toe.

'level of your opponent' is a vastly overrated concept in the NFL.  It's not college where one team has all the top recruits and the other is picking from the local scrap heap.

These guys are all pros and each team is operating with the same salary cap.

Where does that leave Miami?
