Warning: Extreme Homerism Ahead

Week 1 - Bills 31 - Jets 10 - I think we hit the ground running. I think Allen looks good and throws all over that defense, and I think that Lev Bell looks exactly like you'd expect someone who hasn't played football in over a year, while Darnold struggles and throws two picks. 1-0

Week 2 - Bills 17 - Giants 13 - I think this ends up being a close game, and I think Barkley runs well for Giants. This will be a bit of a wakeup call after a week of buying superbowl tickets to only win by a couple, but I think it's a mature game that shows we can win however we need to- I think Singletary explodes on scene here, rushing for 100+. 2-0

Week 3 - Bengals 10 - Bills 27 - Bills get out to a quick lead in front of the home crowd, and then it becomes a boring, mistake filled game where the bills threaten to put it away but never truly do, and the Bengals threaten to rally but consistently shoot themselves in the foot. 3-0

Week 4 - Patriots 21 - Bills 31 - This game is a close back and forth through the first 3.5 quarters, Brady throws a characteristically terrible interception into the waiting arms of Levi Wallace on a 3rd and long that Wallace returns for 6. Oliver throws an offensive lineman to the ground and sacks Brady on 4th down ending any chance of "Tom Terrific" mounting his signature comeback. 4-0

Week 5 - Bills 13 - Titans  21 - Trap game.. Just when it looks like everything is going our way, we fall to a randomly hot Marcus Mariota and the titans. Allen throws a disgusting interception in the fourth (playing hero-ball) that has us going into the bye wondering whether we really do have the answer.  4-1

Week 6 - BYE

Week 7 - Dolphins 0 - Bills 34 - After the up and down of the first quarter of the season, and the questions lingering from the titans game, Brian Daboll calls the best game of his life. Allen goes bonkers with a 66% completion rating, 305 rds, and 3 td's. The defense stifles the dolphins to the tune of 4 turnovers, 7 sacks (including two from Daryl Johnson). The game is over halfway through the 3rd quarter, and the bills go run heavy to end it. 5-1

Week 8 - Eagles 24 - Bills 21 (OT) Tough back and forth game between two teams exerting themselves as the upper echelon of the NFL. Eagles it due to a costly fumble by Shady in eagles Territory which gives them the ball in overtime. 5-2

Week 9 - Redskins 15 - Bills 20 - Fieldgoal game for Redskins. Bills offense looks to be out of sync and plays poorly at times, Redskins offense isn't in sync, it't in the toilet. Entirely forgettable football game, but we get the W. Jay Gruden is one week closer to gone. 6-2

Week 10 - Bills 20 - Browns 31 Could the Bills and the Browns be big hitters in the AFC? That's the question on minds as they square up in the rust belt. The Browns come in at 7-1 with the bills 6-2. It's a good game, but the browns are one step ahead throughout and take the victory and increase their lead in the AFC- important note here- Odell Beckham gets injured and is expected to miss significant time. 6-3

Week 11 - Bills 24 - Dolphins 13 - Another unspectacular game, with the highlight being the continued emergence of Devin Singletary as he busts 3 tackles on his way to a 75 yard score. 7-3

Week 12 - Broncos 10 - Bills 38 - Bills put on a show for the home crowd- Defense again shuts down the opposing team, Drew Lock playing for an injured Joe Flacco throws 3 interceptions (one on a deflection). Robert Foster reemerges in this game after a quiet first 3 months of the season and catches 7 balls for 129 yards and 2 scores (this made possible by John Brown missing the game due to a nagging hand injury) 8-3

Week 13 - Bills 28 - Cowboys 27 - Childhood dream comes true for me as I sit and watch the bills play on thanksgiving. Josh Allen has an up and down game against a great defense, but the bills deep stable of running backs gets the job done. Elliot hurts our defense throughout the game, but get's stuffed by Star in the last minute on the two point conversion attempt to tie. Bills win, I go enter 9 day food coma and wake up in time for the next game. 9-3

Week 14 - Bills 10 - Ravens 13 - Ugly slugfest by two of the best defenses on the planet- both Quarterbacks struggle to get any rhythm going and sustain drives. Ravens get a break when Earl Thomas causes a John Brown fumble late in the 4th. Lamar makes Oliver miss in the backfield and escapes for a 12 yard run on third and 10 and Tucker nails the game winner as time expires. 9-4

Week 15 - Bills 24 - Steelers 27 - A back and forth game where Josh Allen plays his guts out (literally, vomiting on the sideline due to the flu) and the Steelers defense gives him all they got. Barkley comes in for one drive in the fourth and throws a pick six. Allen returns and leads the tying drive (collapsing on the field in exhaustion after hitting Knox for 6) but Big Ben pulls out some magic and drives 80 yards in 34 seconds hitting James Washington on a deep crossing (Poyer cheated for the ball and missed) to set up the game winner. McD tries the Ice but it doesn't work. Bills lose two in a row for the first time this season, interconference loss hurts their positioning. 9-5

Week 16 - Bills 34 - Patriots 21 - The Bills come into Foxborro to face the 9-5 Patriots for the lead in the division. Again, the bills Jugernaut works immediately, causing all kinds of chaos to the patriots and taking a 20-0 lead into the half. We all hold our breath as the second half starts as we've seen this movie before- the bills play disciplined football, Tom Brady does Tom Brady things, but there's too much to overcome, and the bills defense is too good. Brady throws two interceptions in the second half and the Bills are in the drivers seat of the AFC East for the First time in a long long time. 10-5

Week 17 - Bills 27 - Jets 6 - Bills come into this game wanting to lock up the east, and get the first round bye (need the Chiefs to lose to the Chargers on SNF for that to happen). Bills play a thoroughly dominant game with a heavy run game that just beats down the Jets D. Sam Darnold throws two ugly interceptions to end his up and down season that leaves many in NY calling for his head. After his second interception in the first quarter, the Cameras catch Gregg Williams shouting at Adam Gase who stands looking into the distance- rumors swirl that Williams has been undermining Gase's authority since an ugly Week 9 blowout loss to the Dolphins when the wheels came off of the Jets Team. Leveon Bell, who has less than 800 yards rushing at this point in the season, takes himself out of the game and walks to the locker room in the second quarter after getting stuffed on 3rd and inches by Ed Oliver. Bills win handidly and win the AFC East for the first time in my lifetime. They seal a first round bye with a Chiefs loss. 11-5

Final: 11-5 - Victory in the Division Round against the Steelers, loss in the Championship against the Colts- Everything is looking bright in Buffalo, Colts lose to the Eagles in the Superbowl.

Welp... I've got the right record at this point, some weird takes in between then and now. The description of the Redskins game is pretty spot on...

First of all this is a bit of fun - it is my actual prediction for our final record and yes I know it is almost impossible to get all these details right.... but it sort of sets my expectations for the season:

Week 1 - Bills 27 Jets 21 - The Bills open at Metlife and face a first half onslaught from Sam Darnold as the Jets march right down the field their first two possessions and storm into a 14-3 lead. The Bills finally get moving on offense before half time and reduce the deficit to 14-10 at the break. Josh Allen catches fire early in the second half leading a long touchdown drive that is topped off by a pass to Tommy Sweeney in the endzone before Allen rushes 45 yards for the score on a QB keeper. The Bills are up 27-14 until a late Jets TD reduces the arrears but the onside kick attempt fails and the Bills take the W. 1-0

Week 2 - Bills 24 Giants 10 - Again the Bills offense is a little slow out of the blocks as the Giants keep this close for a while. Eventually the Bills manage to break a few long runs in the 2nd half and McCoy has a 100 yard day on the ground while Micah Hyde and Jordan Poyer both snag 2nd half interceptions from Eli Manning who, though it is not known at that point, is starting for the Giants for the very last time. 2-0

Week 3 - Bengals 14 Bills 19 - Cincinnati is not a particularly good team but the Bills coming off a perfect 2-0 road start are a little sloppy in front of the home crowd. The Andy Dalton to Tyler Boyd connection that once sent Bills fans into ecstacy has them staring down the barrel of a 7-0 deficit early on but the ship is steadied before half time and Buffalo is up 10-7. The second half is an ugly slugfest but the Bills kick field goals to keep the Bengals at arms length and then stop them on 4th down at midfield to seal the win. 3-0

Week 4 - Patriots 24 Bills 21 - Week 4 brings out the Bills' best performance of the feldgling season as they go toe to toe with Brady and the Patriots. Ed Oliver, held sackless through 3 games, has a breakout performance taking Brady down twice, Matt Milano picks him off and Josh Allen passes for 280 yards and 3 touchdowns. Gotskowski kicks the Patriots ahead with 00:47 on the clock but Allen with a bomb to Brown and then a sideline dart to Zay Jones puts Hauschka in position to tie the game and send it to overtime...... he misses. Wide right. 3-1

Week 5 - Bills 19 Titans 16 - Another tough grind of a game. This one is tied up at 6-6 at the half. The Titans are not moving the ball through the air but Mariota is having joy on the ground and the Bills are struggling to make hay against an underrated Titans secondary. The game breaks open on the first Bills play from scrimmage of the 2nd half when Josh Allen hits Robert Foster with a 63 yarder to make the score 13-6. The Titans claw their way back in to restore parity and again the game comes down to the boot of Hauschka as time expires. He nails a 56 yarder. Bills win. 4-1

Week 6 - BYE

Week 7 - Dolphins 10 Bills 31 - Josh Allen throws a pick 6 to Xavien Howard on his first snap of the game and the Dolphins are up 7-0. It is one way traffic after that though. Ed Oliver knocks Josh Rosen out of the game in the 2nd Quarter by which time the score is 17-7 and then Fitz has total second half meltdown with three turnovers as the Bills run riot. 5-1

Week 8 - Eagles 26 Bills 24 - This is the game that gets away. The Bills are up 24-16 as the 4th quarter commences but the offense suddenly stalls and they can't stop Carson Wentz as the Eagles abandon the run game and he drives them down inside the two minute warning for the final score. 5-2

Week 9 - Redskins 17 Bills 20 - The Bills start this one hot and Daboll's trickery is wrongfooting the Skins defense as the Bills dominate the first half and lead 17-3 at the break. But again the offense stagnates after half time and Dwayne Haskins has the Redskins back in contention and knocking on the door of a game winning drive. TreDavious White bailes the Bills out with a game winning interception but the fanbase breaks into mass hysteria after back to back weeks of poor second half offensive displays "McDermott is too conservative and Daboll does too much trickery and not enough sound fundamental football" is the TBD reaction but regardless the Bills are 6-2

Week 10 - Bills 21 Browns 20 - The 6-2 Bills play the 5-3 Browns and both are getting media attention as potential playoff teams behind their second year Quarterbacks. The Browns lead 7-0. The Bills tie it up at 7-7. The Browns lead 14-7. The Bills tie it up at 14-14 and as the game gets tighter in the second half the Browns eek out two field goals to lead 20-17. 1:14 to play. 1 Time Out. Ball on the Bills 26. Allen leads the Bills down the field and finds Cole Beasley in the front corner of the endzone for his first touchdown grab of the season with 00:02 on the clock. The Dawg Pound despairs. Bills Mafia rejoices. 7-2

Week 11 - Bills 17 Dolphins 14 - After the high of Cleveland the Bills are strangely out of sorts in South Florida. Josh Rosen, starting for the first time since Ed Oliver introduced himself to his sternum in week 7 plays a solid game managing the Dolphins offense while Josh Allen throws two picks. In the second half Daboll switches tact and leans on Frank Gore and the Bills grind one out. The defense again needs to make a late stand and the Dolphins try a 62 yarder as time expires. No good. 8-2

Week 12 - Broncos 9 Bills 24 - This isn't close. Drew Lock starts for the first time for Denver and he can get absolutely nothing going as the Bills defense totally shuts the Broncos down. Allen has 300 yards and 2 touchdowns, Shady adds another on the ground and this one was over a long way from home. The Buffalo Bills, YOUR Buffalo Bills, are NINE and TWO. 9-2

Week 13 - Bills 14 Cowboys 20 - Thanksgiving Football! The Bills come into this one riding a four game winning streak and tied with Patriots atop of the AFCE. They are ahead early in Big D and they still lead 14-13 as the 2 minute warning sounds. But nobody does 4th Quarter comebacks better than Dak Prescott because while he is a limited athletically (as a passer) he is an outstanding decision maker. Amari Cooper jumps over Levi Wallce to grab the game winner. Heartbreak for the Bills. 9-3

Week 14 - Ravens 14 Bills 10 - The Ravens schedule is easier early than late and they come into this game above .500. The one thing you can guarantee about a John Harbaugh team is they will be prepared and well coached and their secondary is scary talented. They shut the Bills offense down in a way nobody has done all year. Marlon Humphrey shadows his former teammate John Brown and holds his catchless and while the Ravens offense isn't exactly on fire either they pull out the surprise win. Cue mass hysteria, panic, and pitchforks at the ready among Bills fans. Fire someone! fire everyone! 9-4

Week 15 - Bills 27 Steelers 30 - This is another tough loss. The Bills play their hearts out in a game that goes back and forth. We have the ball at the end and a chance to win. Allen throws a time into tight coverage at the Steelers 25 yard line on 4th down that would put us in range to try a game tying FG...... but Zay Jones drops it. Steelers hold on. It's a three game slide. 9-5

Week 16 - Bills 22 Patriots 24 - The tough losses just keep coming. The Bills lead 12-10 at half time (Haushcka having missed an extra point) and they continue to frustrate Brady in the third quarter. But eventually he works it out in the 4th and leads two consecutive touchdown drives that give the Patriots the lead. Again the Bills have the ball and a chance to drive down the field and win the game.... but Allen's pass intended for Brown is high and is intercepted by one Stephon Gilmore who is on his way to back to back All-Pro seasons. 9-6

Week 17 - Jets 16 Bills 27 - And so it comes down to this. From sailing into the playoffs at 9-2 to a must win week 17 clash with the New York Jets at a hyped up New Era Field. And the Jets lead at half time too. 10-7. On the first Jets offensive series after the interval Ed Oliver hits Sam Darnold as he throws and the ball sails to Jordan Poyer who catches it and then sets off to the house..... Touchdown! The sound of relief is deafening as the stadium explodes in celebration. From then on this is the Bills game and the win is sealed when Allen finds McCoy on a check down inside the redzone and he leaves New Era Field with one last moment of pure Shady magic as he makes guys miss and saunters into the endzone. The Bills are IN the postseason as the 6th seed. 10-6

Well GB, I was looking at you’re pre-season post and you predicted 12-4.  Well even though a couple of misses on games, but no one can predict every game.  You may get you’re wish as we’re on pace to possibly get there.

LeGOATski thanks for bumping this. I was just thinking about this thread yesterday.

I expect similar record than you Gunner but I assume that path will be quite different. From your breakdown you expect us to be solid team which in general beats weaker opponents and lose to stronger ones.

I expect it to be much more interesting, with some surprises here and there.

I have it in quarters of the season:

1. Jets, Giants, Bengals, Pats: 3-1

We cannot lose to Bengals and we beat Pats at home. I am Bills fan only 3 years so I refuse to accept that BB and TB are unbeatable. We lose either opener or Giants after that.

2. Titans, Dolphins, Eagles, Redskins: 3-1 (total 6-2)

This can go either way, but most likely loss is Titans. I fully expect us to beat Eagles at home in great game (just as we beat Tampa or Oakland two years ago), and if we win at Tennessee before, we really might lose a shocker vs Redskins.

3. Browns, Dolphins, Broncos, Cowboys: 3-1 (total 9-3)

This is where we prove that we are for real. These are all tough games, and I think loss will be road game at Browns or Dolphins. I admit I might be foolishly optimistic but I really feel that Thanksgiving game at Dallas is meant to be huge for the Bills. We are not losing there.

4. Ravens, Steelers, Pats, Jets: 2-2 (total 11-5)

We are not beating both Ravens and Steelers. We are not beating Pats twice. So whether we are 10-6 or 11-5 depends on game with Jets, which can go either way. But as I said I am really optimistic about Allen and whole team and we will not lose at home with potential division win and maybe even 1st round bye (a man can dream).

My core prediction is that we will beat Pats, Eagles and Cowboys, and lose some random unexpected game (Giants and Redskins being the prime candidates).

I did not hit on Pats nad Eagles, but I was right about Dallas and I was pretty spot on about season overall. Right now I am pretty sure we will not go worse than 11-5.

Aristocrat is a genius. And Gunner and Whatdrought well played too.
