Not really.  The number of great NFL players in the coaching ranks is completely dwarfed by those who were never significant players (or players at all).

I'm not even talking about "great" coaches....

Therefore we can easily conclude that playing greatness imparts no natural ability to coach.  History proves this.

What great players are you considering busts as HC

name them

what kind of talent were they handed?

There she been less than 20 HOFers as any levels of NFL coach.  Ever.  vs many hundreds  total coaches.

You aren’t coming up with anything fans haven’t known for 100 years now.

the NBA is most likely to give a player the chance to be a great coach, but it all comes down to the talent you are handed

That's true for all coaches.  What does that have to do with a discussion of whether the best players are naturally predisposed to be coaches?

Here's a simple question.  Why haven't great players filled more coaching positions over the past 50 years?  That's over 1500 team seasons...and less than 20 HOFers were offered any coaching spots.  Obviously, most don't want to coach.  The rest....NFL FO's don't have any reason to believe because you were a great player, you will be a useful coach in the NFL.  So it has nothing to do with "what talent you are handed"...they aren't getting offers.  Same for Ed Reed.  Safe to say that if his former DC hadn't offered him a job in Buffalo, he would never coached at all.

Its not that he didn't like Buffalo, as it said in the title that "He didn't like the STAFF in Buffalo" , in a interview i seem to remember him talking highly of Buffalo, Bills Mafia, & the community but he talked badly of the staff as to how they tapped into his experience which they just didn't do because they thought he was just a new coach that didn't have the experience to be that guy which is foolish !!

Specifically, Ed Reed thought the staff Rex Ryan assembled in Buffalo were a bunch of idiots, whose coaching style consisted of yelling and swearing at players, instead of teaching.

And here, all of us just thought they were frat boy incompetents...now we know the real story.  Seriously, what an awful two years where the team had talent but was rudderless.
