Idea To Capture Bin Laden

PTS

Recommended Posts

OK, so in a drunken state this weekend with my friends, we discussed UBL and why that son of a B word hasn't been caught. I contend that he literally is buried under some mountain and hasn't surfaced at all. However, Saddam was hiding in a hole in some random dude's backyard ... and we found him. He's my idea to find UBL.

Starting April 1st, for one month only, you can be $1,000,000,000.00 USD richer! That's right ... that's a billion dollars! How do you enter you ask? Simply head into the Tora Bora mountains or wherever the hell UBL is and find him ... dead or alive!

Attention Al-Qaeda members, you are also eligible to enter! Sure UBL has promised you a great and holy after-life, but why wait? You can buy that life today! Just tell us where your boy is.

I concur. No matter how pigheaded and ignorant these terrorists are, a BILLION dollars would change their tune.

Isn't there a pretty big reward already? I don't think the amount is the issue. The people he is surrounded by are pretty hard core. They don't care about money, just whatever Allah-b.s. they've been fed their whole lives.

I agree. About the only thing a billion would do is draw more kooks out of the woodwork and create more false leads. It would probably do more harm than good.

$25 million I believe is the reward. But maybe there is a person that really isn't "in" with UBL's group but knows where they are might change his/her tune to a cool billion.

I can't think of anything that I would do for $1B that I wouldn't do for $25MM. At some point, more zeros don't matter so much. Especially if you are some poor slug in the Middle East who can't even comprehend amounts that large.

Man, way to rain on my parade. I say just give it try, if nothing comes of it, what do you lose?

Sorry! I'm sure I would have been on board if I had been in a 'drunken state' when I read this.

Then again, if we fund the $1B out of all that Iraqi oil revenue that we're stealing it might be ok. :)

Offer a reward that is based on a currency and finacial system they find revolting and die for religiously over?

Do we get it as Americans? Two different cultures, ideals, etc...

You think the all mightly buck is gonna bridge that gap?

I guess critical thinking is not my strong point?

Oh, well dream on?

They don't live in "our world".

Can they cash the check at Alla Abbdulah's Tavern?

AD/KD... You get it!

Now maybe if they were commies, commies you can buy out.

I say we paradrop murder's, rapists, child molesters, and other such scum into Tora Bora. Tell them their on their own, but if they capture or kill UBL they can return home for a commuted sentence

Most likely they'll run into the locals who like to kill American's. Its Win/Win!

There's a slim chance they'll make it out of Afghanistan. But they're so far outside the US they won't be our problem anymore

Could also have the government wiretap suicide hotlines. Find some promising candidates, offer them a ride to Afghanistan and a bomb to strap to their chest. They get to leave this cruel world behind and do the rest of us a favor

My favorite scene is at the beginning when Lee Marvin is going from cell to cell and the guard is reading off their crimes and sentences. Great flick!

OBL and Zawahiri (just a big a fish in the terrorist (cess)pool are difficult to locate as they have surrounded themselves with fanatical followers who would happily die to protect him. That kind of loyalty money can not sway. Whilst they may not be geniuses AQ is led by peolple with some smarts and they have gotten pretty good at covering their tracks (those that are not any good have gotten caught - Darwinism at work).

They are also almost certainly hiding out in one of the major Pakistani cities by now, since that is where the other major AQ players have been caught since Afghanistan was removed as their base of operations. It is a lot easier to run a terrorist organisation from somewhere that at least has rudimentary access to the rest of the world (eg: media, telephones) than some backward hole in the ground somewhere. Having access to outside media has certainly helped OBL stay alive/avoid capture for this long.

pinpointed by an NSA satellite?

In his first confirmed sighting in many months, the refuge of Bin Laden has been pinpointed by an NSA satellite, one of many that the supersecret U.S. agency utilizes in their search for him. His hideout is located near a lake at the border between China and Pakistan.

At the other side of the Zaskar mountains, the white summits that majestically look out over Bin Laden's sanctuary, a detachment of special forces of the Pakistani and U.S. armies are awaiting orders to capture Bin Laden, and move him by plane to Pakistan.

...

During the last six months, Bin Laden has been sighted several times in the mountains and open ranges of the Northwest. American intelligence agents in the region are of the opinion that the Saudi millionaire, accompanied by an escort of 50 guerilla mujaheddin, moved East towards Cachemira, and from there crossed into China.

The agents furthermore believe that, previously, Bin Laden held various meetings with high officials of Beijing. He convinced them that he would be capable of obtaining peace in their Muslim provinces. "We know about these meetings," confirmed Mansur Ahmed, police chief of Bandipoor, North of Cachemira. "However, they took place on Chinese territory."
