The only way that happens if the Pegulas and State spend around $500. Mil having a partial dome, tons of modern improvements, and yes it would be fun, but doubt it will ever happen.  We also don’t have the local economy to pay for a new domed stadium with many mor suites.

i appreciate you’re post, but not even close to likely.

500 mil? I cant see them putting 500 mil into New Era after they have dumped 400 mil over the past 15-20 years into it. Plus, structurally can New Era hold more weight? Regardless, Indy’s barn dome was 730 mil- thats where I am at. Enough of that relic- even thou I do love it in a love/hate kind of way.

Minneapolis was a Super Bowl city. Not exactly swaying palm trees there. If Indianapolis and Minneapolis can host a Super Bowl, Buffalo could too. The Pegulas are leading the development charge downtown. Ten years ago I'd have said no flipping way. But now?

People hung out in the Mall of America- that doesnt seem like a dream Super Bowl vacation to me.

No bud, it’s me and you can PM me if you want my Cel to confirm.  I have an opinion, and have no idea what is Dunkirk Don’s position.  Feel free to call me.

...HINT: a little Dunkirk Don sarcasm about his alleged dome....we're good....appreciate your posts and articles....

There was just a story on the news about Buffalo having too much hotel capacity. Maybe that's part of the plan to land a Super Bowl once the Pegaladome is done?

Too much capacity relative to the numbers of visitors who want to stay in Buffalo on any given night, but not enough for a SB crowd.

I hated the Super Bowl in Minneapolis. It was bitter cold there. Everything was indoors.

Loved the other three venues, especially Tampa.

It was 30 s and 40s in Atlanta for the Bills last SB,but certainly was palatable.

Buffalo will never get one. We couldn’t handle the population influx unless people stayed in Canada.

Wanna know why Buffalo will never host the Super Bowl?

In addition to requiring a 70,000 capacity stadium, climate controlled if the outside temperature falls below 50 degrees, here are some of the other ridiculous requirements:

.

Like the NJ Superbowl Super Bowl XLVIII?  Rules are changed (exceptions) when they want to make them.  And no Buffalo is not getting a Superbowl even if it is a dome stadium named after the commissioner.

Yeah, I thought about that one too, but I think Goodell is more prone to make exceptions for cities with a new stadium - especially a brand spankin’ new palace like MetLife (the most expensive stadium ever built, with the largest capacity of any NFL stadium, at the time it opened).

Also, NYC is a much larger market, with way more than enough hotels and restaurants, and with considerably more clout and appeal than Buffalo.

Heck, Buffalo’s hotels and restaurants are bursting at the seams even when we occasionally host the first round of March Madness.  Can’t wait to see how we handle the Frozen Four in April.

There was a major winter storm in the NE the week of NYC’s SB. The League was very fortunate it stopped before Sunday and the stadium could be prepared for the game. I don’t forsee another open air, northern city stadium game.

On another topic, Chik-filet (or whatever the noob OP’s name is, didn’t bother to read the T’s & C’s of thread starting protocol either, so this one ends here.
