26CornerBlitz
Buffalo Bills vs. Indianapolis Colts: Preview, odds, predictions for Week 7 INDIANAPOLIS -- The Buffalo Bills (2-4) were so close to a road win against the Houston Texans last Sunday. If not for a pair of Nathan Peterman fourth-quarter interceptions, the Bills may be entering this Sunday's game against the Indianapolis Colts (1-5) at .500 with a chance to go to 4-3 before a massive Monday Night Football showdown with Tom Brady and the New England Patriots the following week. But alas, the Bills didn't get the victory and now are facing a must-win game in Week 7 against the Colts. It's going to be a classic matchup of offense vs. defense. Colts quarterback Andrew Luck is ranked second in the league with 16 touchdowns and he is up against the third-best defense in the NFL this week in the Bills. Buffalo has seemingly moved on from the Peterman experiment and have inserted veteran journeyman quarterback Derek Anderson into the lineup. Bills rookie quarterback Josh Allen suffered a sprained elbow injury last week against Houston and is week-to-week, but looks to have avoided any surgery. Anderson will try and lead the worst passing attack in the NFL against the Colts, who haven't put up much of a fight against opposing teams' passing games so far this season. Indianapolis is allowing 280 yards of offense per game this season and only six teams in the NFL are giving up more. Bills receiver Kelvin Benjamin isn't having the type of year he hoped for through six weeks. He's only caught one touchdown and has yet to eclipse the 150-yard mark for the season. Benjamin played with Anderson in Carolina and even caught the first touchdown of his career from the 35-year-old veteran. The Bills passing game needs Benjamin to get going and the familiarity with Anderson could be something to give him a spark. 26CornerBlitz
Surprising Stats: Week 7 Buffalo Bills at Indianapolis Colts Only three times in Derek Anderson's 13-year career has he thrown more touchdowns than interceptions in a season. The Colts sacked the quarterback 19 times this year, tied for the fifth most in the league. They have six interceptions, tied for the tenth most. They also boast four fumble recoveries, tied for the seventh most. None of those turnovers have resulted in a defensive touchdown.
Brianmoorman4jesus
The colts are 1-5 and we should absolutely be 3-3 with 3 excellent wins. Nate Peterman inexcusably active cost us a season and that sucks but come on...the Bills are better then the colts. No Allen and no Peterman is going to make us better. I’m not sure how this line happens and the picks are head scratching. I really think the Bills are better and I think they win.

26CornerBlitz
Matchup to Watch: Colts' Anthony Castonzo vs. Buffalo's Jerry Hughes Jerry Hughes never developed in the Colts defense. He was introduced by Colts coach Jim Caldwell and President Bill Polian at the Colts Complex on April 23, 2010. (Photo: Sam Riche/IndyStar) A first-round pick who has lived up to expectations in Indianapolis will spend most of his Sunday trying to stop a first-round pick who had to leave the Colts to find success in the NFL. Bills defensive end Jerry Hughes and Colts left tackle Anthony Castonzo were Bill Polian’s final two first-round picks, players who were supposed to serve as building blocks on the line of scrimmage as the Colts retooled around Peyton Manning. Castonzo has been rock-solid since the day he arrived in Indianapolis. Hughes, on the other hand, seemed like a perfect fit to follow in Robert Mathis and Dwight Freeney’s footsteps, but he had to be traded to Buffalo after three seasons to blossom into a difference-making pass rusher in the NFL. This will be the fifth time Hughes has played against the Colts since the trade, but the first time he’s returned to Indianapolis for a regular-season game. Hughes returned to Lucas Oil for his first preseason game as a Bill in 2013, but a 12-snap appearance in the preseason is a world apart from taking the field against the Colts in mid-October. 26CornerBlitz
Week 7: Eli’s Last Stand, Jags D to Dominate Again 5. In honor of Derek Anderson’s ascension-by-default to the starting job for the Bills, let’s take a look back at the last time he started a game in Buffalo, when he led the Cleveland Browns to a decisive victory in Orchard Park. I mashed up every completion he had that game and put them to the best pump-up song ever composed, recorded and performed: “25 or 6 to 4” by the great Chicago. So turn it up and get excited, Western New York! Whoa, we didn’t even make it to Cetera’s entrance! Indeed, Anderson completed two passes that game. And he played the entire game. He dropped back 19 times. He completed two passes for 23 yards. He took a sack. He threw an interception. He scrambled for two yards. And the Browns won the game, 6-3. I was there that day, one of more than 70,000 souls who would never be the same after the things we saw. Trent Edwards, lobbing passes into traffic as part of Turk Schonert’s ill-conceived passing scheme. Fred Jackson drifting gently into the waiting arms of defensive linemen. Terrell Owens in a Bills uniform. Browns punter Dave Zastudil, exhausted, carried off the field Kellen Winslow-after-the-Epic-in-Miami-style, after a heroic performance—nine punts, seven of them pinning the Bills inside the 20. Doctors said he’d be lucky to survive the night. (Other, better doctors said he’d be fine, which he was.) It was windy that day—not overly so, just enough to dissuade aggressiveness by both offenses. But it wasn’t just the wind I remember. As the Bills lined up for their final series and my boredom transformed into desperation, I looked to the heavens, hoping for some kind of relief. What I saw was a single cumulus cloud in the Western New York sky, and I swear, it was in the shape of a face, frowning upon all of us. For years I thought it was God was looking down upon us in pity in that moment. But now I understand, what I saw was a prophecy. He was foretelling a future sorrow: that one day Derek Anderson would return. Anyway, enjoy Bills-Colts everyone. Realistically, Anderson probably isn’t that much of a downgrade from the not-nearly-ready-to-start Josh Allen.

There is still hope for some pick-related fireworks, however; Colts receivers react like Andrew Luck is delivering changeups ... or at least, their hands do. Still, look for Indy to prevail. Luck's mobility and pocket awareness will be the key factor against a frenetic Bills pass rush. The Colts have lost all but one of their games, yet they've been at their opponent's doorstep in the fourth quarter every time out. The Bills simply won't feature enough offense to do the same, even with the presumably steadier hand of Anderson at the till. The 35-year-old hasn't posted a passer rating of 90 or better in a start since December of 2014. QB Anderson to pull off upset vs. Colts? It seems reasonable to lean in the direction of Andrew Luck over Derek Andersonand in favor of the home team. But one bounce the Bills' way could change the outcome. Colts 17, Bills 14 Mike Wells' pick: The Colts are off to their worst start since the 2011 season. The only positive outside of Luck's play this season is that they could have receiver T.Y. Hilton (hamstring) back for the first time since Week 4. Hilton's return will help a group that has 13 drops in the past three games. Scoring will be tough, as Buffalo is ranked 10th in total defense. Colts 17, Bills 10 FPI win projection: IND, 79.5 percent. The Colts are the biggest favorite of the week, according to FPI, but they might not put up points on offense the way they have over the past few weeks. Luck's three-game streak of 300-plus yards and three touchdown passes could come to an end, as the Bills' under-the-radar defense ranks fourth in defensive efficiency.
