Trump Congratulates Corey Stewart

Anyone know what the actual percentage of white supremacist in our country? I'm white, I've never met a white supremacist, nor do I want too.

Their is no place for racism, no matter what color that person is. I think the word racist is thrown around too easily these days. You better be damn sure that if you're going to call someone a racist, you better have facts to back that up!

libs don't care, if they talk completely false trash about people that justifies their existence

have to keep the machine stoked on CNN and in their pointless existences

they lost an election and have decided eff it all, a very immature way to deal with things, the wiser choice is to be a loyal opposition and build up for the next elections instead of screaming at the sky and fake news

You're right about TG.  I don't really know if you're an aszzxhole, or not, but I'll start a poll later on OTW.

I do care about the white supremacist crap and I know it will always be part of our society.  That can't be controlled as racism, bigotry and hatred continue to be passed down from generation to generation.  I see it where I live; scumbag racists from when I was in high school now have scumbag racist children going to the same school with my son.

And yes ... before someone chimes in with the classic, "what about reverse racism, huh??" argument - I know ... there are hateful people of color, too.

I do, however, think that there are far more good people than bad.  As much as I'd love to see this hatred gone from society, I know that will never happen.  But we do have the power to keep it out of our governments.  That is something I'd like to see and something that I think IS possible.

Gugny, I know you're one of the good guys in this world. I would be proud to standby your side to fight against white supremacy. It's disgusting you and your family have to experience that disgusting behavior.

I agree with you. There is no place in our society for that type of behavior. Especially from people in power. Keep up the good fight. You're not alone.

Racism is alive in this country but it is not relegated to just whites. I used to belong to a few social clubs in my last community and not one of them had any black members. There was muttering when a friend of mine brought a black guy in as a guest. The muttering went away once people got to know him but that doesn't negate the fact that there still was muttering initially. In another club the "N" word was used frequently by a couple of members. I let my membership lapse there.

I was driving through a mixed residential area yesterday in Olean and I (white) was momentarily almost surrounded by 3-4 black guys yelling at me. I didn't wait around to hear what they were shouting. Racist or a prank? I don't know, but even if they thought it was just a prank it was a racist prank.

Thanks, Westie.  To clarify - my son isn't a victim of it; he just sees it.  And I'm not calling for anyone to fight against white supremacy.  Your question is valid, about how many white supremacists there are in our country.  I can tell you that every year the KKK openly recruits about 30 minutes north of where I live.

Again - I'm pretty sure we all know that this is not a problem that is exclusive to whites.

What I would like to see is for us - as in voters - to keep haters and bigots out of all levels of government.

To me, it's not about trying to create the biggest group, team, club, party, etc., of people who all think alike.  It's about individuals forming their own beliefs and values without waiting for someone (i.e. - parent)/some group to tell them what to believe.  That's the problem, IMO.

who decides who is a bigot these days?  Facebook?

[just reading that the 17th Amendment ratified in 1913, forced the Senate to be elected by popular vote and not chosen by state legislature. Did not know that...]

For weak sheep, yes, sadly.  We, as individuals, should understand what makes a bigot and what the impact of bigotry is.  But too many people - as I stated earlier - let other people define it for them, and follow along so they can  be part of something.

but Facebook is a big deal to be banished from these days.... at least it is my understanding that this can be a commercial enterprise

it's sorta nice that people can point fingers and call people Nazis just because they have a slight disagreement on policy, or like a different flavour of ice cream

hard to argue that the man in the Oval Office doesn't mean a lot to one's view of the present and future

i remember when Clinton won, I was an intern at a meeting with 35 corporate fatcats and they all said they didn't vote for him but he's the President and time to get back to keeping America humming along.

The left has lost all credibility with claims of racism. Any innocuous joke or generalization is treated as "hate speech." It's gone from not being able to criticize anyone for being a minority to not being able to criticize anyone who is a minority.

Anyone who doesn't support left-wing politics is presumed racist. They claimed the real reason conservatives didn't like Obama was his race, as if conservatives liked white leftists who want to "fundamentally transform the country" in a socialist image.

The arguments for Trump being racist are pretty flimsy, but they spout the accusations passionately and with such certainty you'd think they caught him red-handed giving the keynote speech at a klan rally.

They stoke the passions of simpletons claiming legitimate police shootings are racially motivated, with no evidence beyond the respective colors of the parties, and have race riots over what often turns out to be a lie.

While they decry a slight undertone of racism, or some undefined, unquantified perception of "white privilege" as the great injustice of the 21st century, they openly and aggressively marginalizing white men.

You can only respond to cries of wolf only to find a puppy so many times before you completely tune it out. The problem is we have a large segment of the ruling class that has convinced the useful idiots that we have to rip apart the fabric of society to protect us from the wolves.

Behold, a new breed of Republican for the Trump era.

Seth Grossman won the Republican primary last month for a competitive House seat in New Jersey, running on the message “Support Trump/Make America Great Again.” The National Republican Congressional Committee endorsed him.

Then, a video surfaced, courtesy of American Bridge, a Democratic PAC, of Grossman saying “the whole idea of diversity is a bunch of crap.” Grossman then proclaimed diversity “evil.” CNN uncovered previous instances of Grossman calling Kwanzaa a “phony holiday” created by “black racists,” labeling Islam a cancer and saying faithful Muslims cannot be good Americans.

Grossman gave an interview claiming that he supports diversity in part because he likes “to go to Chinese restaurants.” He called the oppression of African Americans “exaggerated.” And this week, the liberal group Media Matters found that Grossman had previously posted a link on Facebook to a white-nationalist website’s piece claiming black people “are a threat to all who cross their paths.”

Many such characters have crawled out from under rocks and onto Republican ballots in 2018: A candidate with ties to white nationalists is the GOP Senate nominee in Virginia (and has President Trump’s endorsement); an anti-Semite and Holocaust denier is the Republican candidate in a California House race; a prominent neo-Nazi won the GOP nomination in an Illinois House race; and overt racists are in Republican primaries across the country.

Many will lose primaries, and the rest will lose in November. GOP officials have disavowed this crop of unsavory candidates, though sometimes hesitantly. It is an indication of where Trump has taken the party that Republicans need the support of people like this.
