It was definitely a packed house for leafs fans... the lower bowl was about 70% maple leafs jerseys

the upper bowl maybe 60-40 Sabres fans

so I’d say it was atleast a good 60% leafs fans... there were go leafs go chants all night

i was aboot to fight some Canadians ?

Careful, you are outnumbered. If they fight like the Leafs play on offense you will be swarmed with a fusillade of shots.

If you start advocating for building a north wall you will be banned to the PPP.

What good would a wall do anyways?

they would just skate across the Great Lakes eventually to buy things from our malls ?

How do Canadians have this reputation of being super nice.  I've had so many run ins with obnoxious Canadians over the years - in Buffalo.  Seems they come here to start crap.

They are far better behaved at home than they are on the road.

The corporate fans wearing suits attending games are less likely to get rowdy. The expense account crowd are into proper decorum :)

I was referring more towards the "rank and file".  People with expense accounts generally have a lot to lose.

I was referring to the the corporate chaps who attend the home games compared to the rank and file who drive up to Buffalo. The first group is more proper while the other group is less proper.

I forgot to ask you if you were affected by the earthquakes? I hope everything was okay in your area.

Yep.  Not that I like the post, but so true.

Again, I wish I would have got on ground floor when the Blackhawks were calling, begging me to buy season tickets before they got good!  I told them to ***** off, I am a Sabres fan.  They sure got last laugh!!!

I can imagine that season ticket base fell to ghost town levels with all the Bill Wirtz love that was going around that town.

2/3 of the premium seat patrons in Toronto are sitting at a bar service the first 6 or so minutes of the 2nd and 3rd, can't bother to get back to the live action

I am with you Lenz. While it isn’t ideal for the home fans the brokers are a necessary evil. This holds especially true in a “gate-driven” league like the NHL. They are not getting the revenue from the networks that other leagues are. The ticket revenue in the NHL is infienitely more important than NFL, NBA and even MLB (although they are closer).

You can get brokers to commit to tickets for Calgary on a Tuesday Night when both teams stinks. They are willing to do that because they can make a profit when the Leafs play on a Friday and both teams are good (or whatever). The value of broker partners is that they own many of the seats that may or may not be filled on a crappy game. They play a major role in teams hitting revenue goals and ticket goals. I’d venture to say that the Sabres have 2,000 or so seats (no idea on the actual number) that are owned by broker partners. There are a handful of really large ones around the country that own chunks. We had about 3,500 one year and there were owned by about 7 guys.

With that being said the accessibility between ticket holders and the general public is easier than ever. That makes it even harder for brokers. Teams have to continue to be creative to incentivize brokers to continue purchasing the lower demand games. You may do something like, “for every season ticket that you have you can buy double that amount for Toronto.” So if a guy buys 100 season tickets and is allowed to buy another 200 per game for Toronto you get a lot of Leaf fans in the building. You do this to protect the less desired games and drive demand away from games that will sellout anyways.

Lenz, is that along the lines of what you are looking for?

What is going on with "consolidators?"  Are they working out and do you think the Sabres will do that?
