I Agree with that statement.

Also maybe these football players should concentrate on football instead of pissing  off more then half their customer base with politics either left or right or social justice warrior antics.

Play football and keep this other stuff off the field and out of team activities.

I can hear you in Germany in the 30s telling Jews to just shut up and run their shops.

So, you are saying that my distaste for the players kneeling is because of Trump?

He wasn't the original cause of the kneeling by any means, but...

The kneeling had almost totally died out when he chose to make his comments.

In the week before he made his "SOB's" remark, there were less than 10 players who kneeled (and I want to say it was closer to 3-5 but I'd have to do some research again because I don't remember offhand. I researched this quite a while ago now). There were only a few on Sunday, and even less on Monday and Thursday.

Then Trump made his comments (a very curious time to make these comments, when the kneeling was almost dead...) and literally 100's of players took a knee the following Sunday. For some reason he chose to pour gasoline on the dying coals of a fire.

.004% of unarmed blacks death are by police...and no country is perfect.

There is a database of "unarmed black deaths"?  Which also lists the perpetrators??

For a good reason - to stoke his base.  As this thread demonstrates, it worked.

I'd ask the same of you.  You accused my timeline of being wrong.  Show it.

Again, without Trump inserting himself, for no other reason than to whip his base into a frenzy, there were very, very few demonstrations.

It started with CK and then spread. After it got to be somewhat common with some players on most teams Trump brought it up. Thems the facts. BTW, this conversation has no place here, and It should have already been moved to PPP.

Ultimely the NFL gives them the right to kneel not the Constitution in this case, because it's not public place. The NFL has alienated many if its fans with this. Believe me Trump wasn't the first person to bring this up, just got a lot of attention because the media loves reacting to Trump. There is a reason why Kap doesn't have a job.

Given you're apparent distaste for what CK has done, based on merit, do you think he should have a job in the NFL?

When's Pegula going to fire his right hand man Cliff Benson for being on the board of directors of Second Mile, the charity Gerry Sandusky used to molest children. Or at least speak on the matter. The chickens will come home to roost, Terry.

Pegula shouldn't be a moral arbiter of anything.

Actually, you dont support free speech 100% because your are now putting limitations on when and where it's acceptable.

CK didn't break any laws or even any league rules when he chose to kneel for the anthem. He had his reasons and it was only a problem when the point was twisted by the public and a certain person on Twitter who took it to mean something else. If people have a problem with CK using his position as a QB in the NFL to support a cause, no player should be allowed to. Players supporting local food bank, or underprivelaged kids, or hospitals, or illnesses shouldn't be allowed either then. They shouldn't be allowed to mention or thank god/jesus in interviews. They should just shut their mouths and play their sport. Then everyone can stay happy cause nothing would change and everything would stay the same......

It's all about free speech until someone says something you dont like.

Some may see what he is doing as respecting his country more because instead of just sitting back and accepting it, he is doing something to try and make it a better place for all Americans, not just the white ones. And maybe the problem is (if you believe he is disrespecting the flag) that the country the flag represents is not respecting him and others that are a part of it by not treating them as equals?

Horseshit. If I agreed with you then I would support wrongly yelling Fire! in a crowded theater.

It's a bunch of neocons and "get off my porch or I'll shoot" fantasy-libertarians (as opposed to classical liberal libertarians), interspersed with the "Fox 'N' Friends" parrots and a few quasi-racist lunatics who live in their parents' basements.   Stay away.

blah, why do politics have to invade every facet of my life?

It’s outrage porn. It’s everywhere now. Everything has to be reduced to a false binary “us vs. them” issue. It drives clicks and eyeballs for the corporate news outlets and keeps us focused on our few differences rather than our vastly larger amount of similarities.

Instead of asking ourselves “Why am I being told this?” we end up asking “Why do those that disagree with me hate America?”

What's going on in this country? Booming economy, denuclearization of North Korea, strength in the Middle East...and snowflakes whining.

The booming economy is thanks to the previous administration. Right now it's teetering on the edge. Last I looked, N. Korea is still nuked up. When Kim says denuclearization he means if we have to withdraw ours (You'd know this if you read a legitimate paper). And what strength in the Middle East? We've been pushed to the sidelines, Russia has replaced us as the Big Power, and they, Iran and Turkey are negotiating the endgame without us.

Yeah I went in there a couple times but got tired real quick of banging my head against a wall.

I'd take 2 hours researching something from both sides and laying out an argument using nothing but the facts, and I'd provide links from legitimate sources to back everything up I said.

I'd write 12 paragraphs and All id get was either some version of "you're wrong" or no comment at all and I'd see them just continue to spout the same nonsense that I had just refuted.

Edit - to be fair, it wasn't every poster in there. Just some.

I am not sure your stats are correct, but shouldn’t that number be 0%?

I absolutly support the athletes right to protest and if I were given the same voice and abilities, I would join them on the field.  They are not saying negative things about the Military (nor the FBI, see trumps daily tweet) they are taking a knee in silent protest because of police brutality.

And when they run out of arguments, they attack the poster, the source of the information, or rail against media bias/conspiracies.

If I remember correctly some of us thought your use of "The Onion" as a source was not very convincing.

When someone has a poor argument they get eviscerated. Sorry you had to be put through that, but you should have good arguments instead.

LOL.  I just had a thought about Peg's comment about not wanting the NFL glacier to slip below the waterline.

If the Bills were to draft Rosen, the first media question Terry might get asked is "What do you think about your new franchise QB's F*** Trump hat, Terry?"     Not good....:death:
