He never changed his game to make more plays from the pocket. It wasn't about the coaching, and the injury was a result of his playing style. Steve Young summed it up pretty nicely after one of his games.It was a MNF game toward the end of Griffins time in Washington. He said early in his career he was the same player that RG III was. Teams figure you out pretty fast and force you to make plays from the pocket. He acknowledged that Griffin had the talent. It was pretty much on him if he changed his game to adapt to the NFL or continued to try his College style. Young predicted that if RGIII stuck with his college game his career would be short. Settling for Losman helped further set our team back for several years. Will all 4 of Darnold, Rosen, Allen and Mayfield work out like the big 3 in 2004 did? The odds are that 2 of the 4 will be franchise guys but we don't know for sure. Still, those odds are better than taking lesser prospects at 22 or in the 2nd round where it might take longer to figure out if they're good, because it will likely take longer for them to see on the field. No matter what, we have to move up and get one of those 4, preferably the one we like best. If we don't, we run the risk of reliving 2004 all over again. I think they were trying to get the Jaguars who picked 9th to trade with them but the Jags wouldn’t do it because they were dead set on taking Reggie Williams a WR from Washington who ended up busting.
