Would putting Glenn on the trading block make sense?

Well, most "advanced metrics" are subjective, but even if we take them as gospel, that's still not an accurate statement:

"Argument for Top 101 inclusion:

Cordy Glenn allowed just two sacks all season, despite pass-blocking for a quarterback that holds the ball (on average) longer than any other QB in the league (3.22 seconds per dropback). He had a perfect game in pass protection against the Houston Texans, making a total of five games over the season in which he allowed no pressure at all and was only responsible for his quarterback being knocked down four times in total.

Why he isn’t in the Top 101:

Glenn’s run-blocking was average at best, and disastrous in a couple of games over the season. He allowed 27 total pressures, and his pass-blocking efficiency was only good enough for 11th overall among tackles, behind players like Taylor Lewan and Austin Howard."

I feel like this has to be said too often, but...

Suppose that Dawkins struggled to get comfortable on the right side, but played well at LT. We've seen that happen before with guys like Kouandjio and Henderson. If Glenn shows the ability to slide over to RT with no drop in level of play, wouldn't it make sense to move him over since the starting 5 would be better than with Dawkins at RT?

...RT MAY be an option, but why even propose trading the kid?...his feet will get better...26 bones in each human foot which makes them a very complex extremity.....the OL is developing unit chemistry and cohesiveness nicely, so why upset that with a trade?....

Why Glenn to RT? Glenn is a very solid LT and we run much better off of him when he is in. If anything, put Dawkins at RT.

I agree. I was trying to look at it from coaches' perspective. If they reallly like Dawkins at LT Glenn could be another House Ballard at RT. Either way it would be nice to have two good tackles.

....and to think House was an 11th round pick.......amazing........

Considering that McCoach said that Glenn's injury is concerning, his trade value just went down.

Foot and ankle injuries on both legs for a big guy makes recovery a longer process. I'm not sure Glenn will be fully healthy by the trade deadline.

At this point we'd be looking at a day 3 draft pick for him so why bother.

IMO this isn't the year we make the break through (even if we might make a wildcard), but we are building up strong with talented, young, cheap players that are buying in and fitting to the culture/scheme.

If we are doing fine in spots without Glenn (which we are) we should go ahead and move him if we can get at least a 2 for him. It'll save money and further stack our ridiculous draft for next year. I would also move him for a good young WR if that was possible.

Now if we end up with a 4th it would be disaster.

Generally speaking, I think we "cut smart" and accumulate money and picks...our 3-1 record is nice but it doesn't change who we are/where we are/what we are doing. We are rebuilding. We do need a new QB, at least 2 new WRs, new DTs, and new LBs. We can grab Oline depth as well.

Glenn is a good LT, pretty good pass and run blocker. He in my estimations is somewhere around the 7th to 12th best LT depending on the type of year he's having.

I think he is marginally overpaid but as long as he's healthy I would personally like to see him as our LT and Dawkins in the other side.

I don't think you can ever close the window for trade opportunities but if they ever did pull the trigger they'd have to get good value.

All Talent aside - similar problems the Bills have had lately. Our higher paid/key players of Sammy Watkins, Marcel Dareus & Gordy Glenn just not able to stay on the field. A killer in the salary cap era.

Where would this team be if I had those 3 playing in all the games and at the expected All Pro level? If unable to stay on the field - move them
