I’m not saying this is collusion or worthy of impeaching Trump but Don Jr did solicit the info and it seems like it would fit the “other thing of value” criteria. I only bring this up because it seems this is what Mueller is focusing on for his case. Followed by any obstruction related to the meeting and Russia investigation in general. Is the consensus here it was a routine practice and nothing will come of it? Is it possible that Mueller will squeeze Trump and force him to resign by going after his son? Personally, the meeting seems common practice and SOP in politics but the lying and changing stories about it makes it worse. Greg has done a good job outlining what really transpired behind the scenes for the infamous meeting but most of America will never know about that stuff.

Good morning

Emin just called and asked me to contact you with something very interesting.

The Crown prosecutor of Russia met with his father Aras this morning and in their meeting offered to provide the Trump campaign with some official documents and information that would incriminate Hillary and her dealings with Russia and would be very useful to your father.

This is obviously very high level and sensitive information but is part of Russia and its government's support for Mr. Trump - helped along by Aras and Emin.

What do you think is the best way to handle this information and would you be able to speak to Emin about it directly?

I can also send this info to your father via Rhona, but it is ultra sensitive so wanted to send to you first.

Hope all is well

Emin asked that I schedule a meeting with you and The Russian government attorney who is flying over from Moscow for this Thursday.

I believe you are aware of the meeting - and so wondered if 3pm or later on Thursday works for you?

I assume it would be at your office.

And in hindsight we know that there was activity to weaponize information stolen from emails. They were coordinated to influence the campaign as is shown in what you posted. Not 38 minutes after the access hollywood tape came out Wikileaks was dumping more Hillary stuff

Regarding the bolded:

Yes. Greg has done yeoman's work on this subject matter.

Per Goldstone's admission, he reached out to Don Jr. Not the other way around. So you can solicit something if someone offers you that something? A little dubious methinks.

Jr. seemed to have doubts about what was being offered, e.g., if it had anything of value or not.

Just who exactly is that Russian attorney anyway and how exactly did she get a visa to get into this country so she could meet with the FBI team prior to the "setup" meeting with Jr.? And her translator? Has the Congress tried to get HIM in for questioning about what was said then too? Or does it not rise to the level of the direct behind-closed-doors Trump-Putin meeting? If this is going to lead (supposedly) to impeachment proceedings, why hasn't that translator been subpoenaed?

Color me amazed that Mueller hasn't done that already. Maybe he has and I'm in the dark.

The funny thing is, the old excuse that the meeting was for adoptions was a lie because they knew it was a criminal act, but then the evidence came out and so they are doing the best they can to just say, well, everyone is doing it! Busted

its funny this  thread is supposed to be about manforts trial but been

hijacked by a 8 month old post...i guess the water carriers her are angry

because the judge in the manafort case isn't playing lefty ball, so some

serious deflection is needed. as if anyone really cares that a couple of lefty

water carrying bots keep trying to spread disinformation and hatred

of the US on a nfl board, lol.

Well, considering that Putin gave her "charity" millions of dollars, and paid Bubba $500,000 to give a "speech", where do I sign up to be the victim of his "hate"?

Solid points. I could be wrong but I don’t think soliciting only pertains to offering or selling something, trying to purchase or obtain something also applies. Why did they lie about the meeting? Seems stupid especially since they never received any info. Mueller wants to interview Trump so he can get him to perjure himself, probably the only chance he has at impeachment. Honestly I don’t mind another 2 or 6 years of Trump if the economy stays afloat, we don’t start any unnecessary wars and the environment doesn’t get too !@#$ed. Everyone is saving their best cards for right before midterms so hopefully we get a resolution to all of this crap before the end of the year.

Amateur move on their part - which is what you'd expect from that campaign at the time. It's also the "instinct" (for better and worse) when facing such intense (almost uncharted) hostility from the press in those months (remember how heated the rhetoric was back then, way more vitriolic than even now). That's not meant to be an excuse, just an explanation. Trump and his team have stepped on many rakes along the way. Some, I argue are intentional (to draw attention/focus), but others are just self inflicted wounds.

Nobody gives a **** about Manafort. He’s going to jail for a few years because of tax evasion/fraud.

The convo shifted, and you should pay attention because we are going to hear a lot more about this meeting in the next couple of months.

Right. So rabbithole one didn't yield a rabbit. Let's try rabbithole two.

Ad infinitum, ad nauseam.
