One sentence summary: A battle of ideologies within the Deep State of the United States is what the !@#$ is going on. One paragraph overview: CIA isn't comprised of one uniform ideology or allegiance (in the terms we're talking about), there is/has been/was a dominant faction in control of the CIA for at least the past few decades. These folks very publicly backed Hillary's campaign. There was/is a counter culture element within the Intelligence Community that very publicly backed Trump, most visibly in this case the FBI (but also many within CIA). The people behind Trump positioned him to be against everything the dominate faction believes in (he's not a nation builder or regime change guy). Since he won, Trump has threatened to gut the Intelligence Agencies across the board. As a result, the folks who backed the wrong horse have been throwing a temper tantrum ever since the election. The headlines the past two days are clear examples of this. TPS Posted January 14, 2017 Share Posted January 14, 2017 DR, For as long as I can remember (I'm old now though so I can't remember much) I've never taken MSM news at face value, rather I've tried to decipher what the players in the background, the Deep State players, were trying to do through the media. A few years back I recall GG and I had a bit of a debate (imagine that) about one of the ME wars (who knows which one now), that it seemed there was a spy vs spy "fight" going on between those who wanted to invade and those who didn't. I think you are correct, we are in the middle of a doozy right now, as Trump and Flynn are a threat to one wing--the CIA, who has been waging the covert war in Syria.
