Liberal Protests

Today I saw more evidence of just how awful the behavior of the activists was during the hearing before the vote to condemn Israel.

An honest-to-God Jewish man who lost five family members in the Hamas attacks and who had two cousins taken hostage was heckled by the activists.

Five of his family members were killed, and they make pig-snorting sounds at him.

Is it any wonder that he said he didn’t feel safe in the city? I wouldn’t have felt safe with those people around me at San Francisco City Hall.

Even if I supported the resolution, I would have been ashamed to be associated with this thuggish behavior, but when you are a member of a cult, you exalt in such things. It is a form of signaling to others in your group that you are willing to do the most grotesque things in order to show your allegiance to the cause.

Is this what we are becoming in America?

No, but this is what the Left has already become.

I support free speech, even very offensive speech, short of incitement, but free speech and bullying are two different things. Intimidating people and shouting them down isn’t speech, it is an act. For some reason, we have completely blurred the line between the two.

I would have been disgusted by those activists testifying before the committee with their hateful opinions but I would support their right to do so. What I can’t support is their preventing others from speaking either through shouting them down, intimidating them, or blocking their ability to do so.

That, for me, was at issue in many of the college demonstrations. I was appalled by what they said, but if it had remained speech I would have felt that it didn’t cross the line. But actions–intimidation, blocking access to spaces, interrupting classes, and similar aggressions–cross the line between speech and action, even at times assault or wrongful imprisonment.

Yet here we are. This is now common in America.

Thanks, Leftists! You have elevated our discourse so much. Compassion and all that blah blah.

White House Forced to 'Relocate' Staffers During Pro-Hamas Attack

The White House was forced to relocate staffers, the Secret Service said, after pro-Palestine demonstrators threw objects at law enforcement and damaged security fencing around the presidential residence.

A video from Saturday evening shows demonstrators chanting “All walls will fall!” as they shake the White House security fence while standing in Lafayette Park. Another video shows law enforcement holding the fence as demonstrators chant, “F**k Joe Biden!”

Other videos show protestors throwing projectiles over the White House security fence and chanting phrases such as “Free Palestine” and “Yemen, Yemen, make us proud. Turn this invasion around,” referring to how Houthi rebels have been attacking ships in the Red Sea since Oct. 7, 2023, and a U.S. coalition responded last week with military force.

See If You Can Spot the Problem: Pro-Hamas Protesters Block Roads Into Washington, D.C.

VICTORIA TAFT

It was a rude awakening for people who work for the United States government on Thursday. Pro-Hamas terrorist protesters blocked major roadways into the nation's capitol to pressure the lawmakers, bureaucrats, and apparatchiks in their cars from getting to work for the American people — or, in Joe Biden's America, working against them. See if you can spot a problem with this.

Police call these protests First Amendment Activity, but it doesn't take a high-level counter-terrorism expert who was also delayed from driving to work on Thursday to know that all it takes is for one of these yahoos with a suicide vest to hit the detonator and all hell breaks loose. They might even call it, oh, I don't know, terrorism or something.

WJLA reported that the unpermitted protests "caused road closures on Interstate 395 at C & D Streets Northwest and 14th Street Northwest starting at around 8:40 a.m." In another part of Washington, protesters closed along Interstate 66 Eastbound at 23rd Street and Constitution Avenue Northwest was reopened at 9:30 a.m."

The “Airman” Who Set Himself on Fire for Hamas was Antifa Ex-Cult Member

by Daniel Greenfield

If you had told the average person that an anarchist or an airman had set himself on fire to protest Israel’s campaign against Islamic terrorists, you would get two very different reactions.

Unsurprisingly the media led with the data point most likely to produce a favorable reaction. And Aaron Bushnell cynically played the same game, wearing (the wrong) uniform to his Hamas suicide attempt rather than the Antifa red in which he had been previously photographed.

The Washington Post gets around to admitting that Bushnell was an “anarchist”.
