Smarter people here say that Tyrod Taylor sucks

ha ha yes indeed... this fan base is totally broken after 15 years.. they need to be replaced. lets move the team to Portland or Vegas and let fan base actually hungry for a franchise have a shot at this up and coming group. seriously.

Metz, Ryan thinks there's some serious flaws with Tyrod's game and that we're not out of the woods yet. That may be a tad more pessimistic than your take, but he has a point. Even you know that. This whole board doesn't have to share the same opinion of every single player.

Nah I don't think that's his take. This was a harmless thread that was pretty much saying "Hey ya know what? Taylor had a pretty good season- especially for a guy who had never started before." He did. That is not up for debate. And then Ryan L Billz comes in and says "yeah sure, he's AMAZING. Let's put him in the hall of fame already," throws around the word "anoint" even though no one wants to anoint him anything other than PFF's breakout player of the year and then characterizes anyone defending him against his onslaught of negativity as a "fanboy." The only flaw in his game that Ryan has pointed out his relative lack of yards passing per game. But when you tell Ryan, "look he was 5th in the NFL in yards per attempt, he obviously wasn't asked to pass a ton and with his running ability, he throws the ball less than most QB's," he sends you a Whitney Houston video as a response.

You couldn't have used any other cities as an example of hungry fan base?

wow

I do wonder if Doug Whaley cringes with every award Tyrod receives.......

Tyrod needs a new contract.....but we cant afford to GIVE him that contract right now and bring back the players we need to bring back right now

That's life in the big city. Good problem to have. 3 years ago under f ing RW, we were 30mil under the cap and had no players. I'll take this problem over that problem any day. Cut Mario and McFumble and get ready to write some checks to guys that can play.

Yawn.

its like he beat the Eagles and Skins with the season on the line.

Where do I kneel ?

Aren't you a Matt Cassel guy anyways ? Why you worried about Tyrod ?

When someone says in the shoutbox I smoked salvia today and I'm fine I take notice.

Caused Ole Miss DE to jump out of window, made Chandler Jones a disoriented story. For you it just helps you win "arguments".

Don't say stuff people can use against you I always say.

You win though. I'll take my call my off the air.

Too many fanboys pouncing.

This the thing: TSW isnt saying he had a good year - PFF is saying he had a good year. Are they fanboys too?

Did TSW select TT for the Pro Bowl? These fanboys you speak of must have a lot of pull.

Or, could if simply be that TT had a pretty damn good year and people that follow the NFL - other than Bills fan - acknowledge he had a pretty damn good year.

So for the 100th time what is there to not be excited about? Can we as fans be excited about something QB related for once? Nobody here is saying hes the second coming of Aaron Rodgers. But it still doesnt take away from all the positive he did this season.

PFF and Pro Bowl are both very flawed.

LMAO.

Look, more fanboy articles with more flaws:

The only thing thats flawed in this entire thread is derailing what TT accomplished this season.

This is a topic about TT. Discussing his season is not derailing. If you want an echo chamber, I'm sure you can find one elsewhere.

You want an answer or you gonna find a way to bash it ?

-Not excited about the deer in headlights look in 2nd pats game where the D was lighting Brady up

-Eagles game, Redskins game, Chiefs 2nd half (Sammy w 160 yards/2 TD's at halftime, zero yards 2nd half), Giants game, Titans games (yes we won, I'm sure we will win more games scoring 14 points)

Aside from that he's great, Sometimes.

This is a topic about PFF naming him breakout player of the year. If you want to continue on with how bad he was this year you can carry on in another thread not designed to !@#$ing acknowledge his accomplishment.

And what is germane to that discussion is if he deserved such an award. I realize it's frustrating when other folks disagree with you, but that's what message boards are for. Attempting to silence dissenting opinions is not necessary or welcome, unless they are clearly crusading.

Yeah I'm a Matt Cassel guy because I accurately reported that two games into the preseason, Cassel was Roman's guy. That makes me a "Cassel guy." Much the same way that when a news reporter reports about ISIS, that makes them an ISIS guy.

I also told anyone who was willing to listen that Taylor was named the starter after the third preseason game, so I am also a Taylor guy. I am apparently very conflicted.

So what then, did EJ Manuel show you through his first two seasons that led you to be optimistic about his chances going into this offseason? How is anyone supposed to take you seriously when you nitpick a half here and there from a player who played well to tell us he actually played poorly after you would cherry pick a half or two from a player who stunk to tell us we should be optimistic?

What is the discussion here exactly?

Here's how I see it:

Everyone: Taylor had a pretty good season. Not ready to induct him into the hall of fame but not bad, not bad.

Ryan L Billz: You guys are ridiculous saying he should be in the hall of fame.

Everyone: Dude no one is saying that.

Ryan L Billz: But he had a few bad halves.

Everyone: But what about the rest of the halves where he played well?

Ryan L Billz: Well looky what we got here- another fanboy...

So what is your assertion here?

All of the question marks going into this season ended up working out. In other words our offense performed to the level we expected to need it to, however, everyone was questioning it. TT had a great year. There should likely be more buzz about finding our QB. My only concern is his size and as a result his durability. However, he did show this year that he was somewhat durable only missing two games despite taking a lot of hits.

All of the things us Buffalo fans and the media fully expected to be very good this year did not pan out. In other words, the defense fell flat on its face when we fully expected it to be elite.

Thanks Rex.

That RLB is allowed to post his opinion on TT in this topic, whether you believe it's flawed or not. You're kidding yourself if you believe that you wouldn't be all over a topic that said "PFF names EJM the best 3rd quarter preseason QB of all time."

Topics about player accomplishments go hand in hand with discussion of their play. I reject bobo's assertion that because this topic is about some random award a flawed website gave out, that posters are not allowed to discuss their opinion of TT's play, regardless of it being positive or negative. Outside of that, I have no dog in the fight. I remember countless posters trying to shout me down in EJ topics because they were supposed to be "positive." TBD never has and hopefully never will be a message board that silences dissenting opinions or creates echo chambers.

Outside of that, I don't have a dog in the fight. I am encouraged by TT's performance. I think he had some bright spots. I also temper that opinion with what I believe to be some deep flaws in his game, both seen and unseen. I hope he improves in 2016 and earns a $100 million contract. I can see some reasons for both believing that he will and believing that he won't. I won't pretend that player evaluation is "cut and dried." I believe that even with some positives, it's possible to be down on a player, as I was in EJ's 2013. And it's very possible that players that hasn't established themselves to be very polarizing.

Like it or not, just because TT had a better first season as a starter than EJM, does not mean that I have to like him more. I could, and I am more likely to like him, but it just doesn't mean that. Player opinion is just that, opinion. It is sometimes logically inconsistent. It's that simple.
