We have a leader in the clubhouse for stupidest thing I've seen all week.

I'm glad that olive oil is not being marginalized any longer.

However, I feel that cows have got to be feeling discriminated against - with their products all segregated in the "Dairy Section"

I think this is wonderful news. We have apparently eliminated all other forms of racism in this country, and now can afford to zero in on what were previously considered trivialities such as the categorizing of ethnic cuisines.

Gosh, we're awesome.

Gosh, we're awesome.

Don't forget, most foreign languages have gendered nouns.

So ethnic food aisles aren't just racist, they're homophobic too.

Really? That's what I plan on doing with my retirement.

Holy hell!!  I had been so excited about retiring.   I couldn't wait.  Now that it's three or so years away I'm nervous.  What will I do?  Thanks Tom.  I no longer fear retirement.  Now I want it to come sooner!!   To Zee Lumber Yard.  Guess the reference win a prize!  Yes, 'tis the season.

johannes-w-NfOJSuvkA9Y-unsplash.sized-77..........Kansas Schoolgirl Arrested, Charged with Felony for Brandishing Finger Gun.

One of the nice things about a moral panic is that it frees up individuals from responsibility for their own actions. If everybody's panicked about some supposed social ill, it's okay to do very silly things because you're just trying to protect people. Whether the boogeyman is global warming, or explicit song lyrics, or violent video games, or whatever else you're convinced is dangerous, your righteous indignation is justifiable. And if it's about guns? Dude, panicking about guns is pretty much mandatory. They don't even need to be real guns. These days you can freak out about toy guns, bubble guns, cookies in the shape of guns... even finger guns! The important thing is that you're protecting the children.

Mara Rose Williams, Kansas City Star:

A 12-year-old Overland Park girl formed a gun with her fingers, pointed at four of her Westridge Middle School classmates one at a time, and then turned the pretend weapon toward herself.
Police hauled her out of school in handcuffs, arrested her and charged the child with a felony for threatening...
According to Johnson County District Court documents, on Sept. 18, the girl “unlawfully and feloniously communicated a threat to commit violence, with the intent to place another, in fear, or with the intent to cause the evacuation, lock down or disruption in regular, ongoing activities...”
A person familiar with a more detailed incident report spoke to The Star on condition of anonymity. The person said that during a class discussion, another student asked the girl, if she could kill five people in the class, who would they be? In response, the girl allegedly pointed her finger pistol — like the ones many children use playing cops and robbers.

That's a big no-no. The first rule of gun safety is to treat every gun like it's loaded, even the one that's literally just your thumb and forefinger.

Seriously, though, how is this a police matter? It's a 12-year-old girl, armed with nothing but her finger. Are we going to force kids to wear mittens year-round so they don't accidentally shoot somebody?

DEAR LORD. LOOK AT THE TIME. IT’S MAD HATTER O’CLOCK

We can sell underwear, AND be woke

Several TV networks have agreed to air an underwear commercial portraying a surreal world where men and boys menstruate.

Titled “MENstruation,” the ad for “Period-Proof Underwear” opens with an anguished young teenage boy sheepishly telling his dad, “I think I got my period.”

Many of the nine rapid-fire vignettes in the one-minute, 20-second ad are jarring: a man rolls over in bed, revealing blood-stained sheets; in a public bathroom, a man passes a tampon to another beneath a toilet stall partition; and a man walks through a locker room with a tampon string dangling from his briefs. In one, as a young man and woman suggestively kiss, he stops to say, “I’m on my period.”

“Me too,” she replies.

As the commercial closes, “If we all had them, maybe we’d be more comfortable with them,” appears on the screen, followed by, “Thinx: Underwear that absorbs your period.”

People want answers after Bay Area TV station uses racist headline to cover Braves NLDS loss.

A Bay Area news station likely wants a do-over after using a facepalm-worthy racially insensitive headline in its coverage of the Atlanta Braves being bounced out of the MLB postseason.

KTVU, the Bay Area’s Fox affiliate, recapped the St. Louis Cardinals’ win over the Braves in Game 5 of the National League Division Series with a

chyron that read, “Braves Scalped.”

Heaven forfend.
