By a quick glimpse it shows that you build a good team by drafting well in the early rounds, but also picking up value talent in mid rounds, and getting good contributions from UDFAs. Then you must also be good in signing free agents. And, having a good QB is also good, whether you draft him or get him in free agency. Oh yeah, a good coaching staff also helps.

That, and this ashtray is all the Bills need now.

In other words, a team has to get mostly everything right.

One team had a great defense and then convinced a top 3 QB of all time to come sign with them. They then provided him an ungodly amount of top weapons, while letting their defense go to crap.

The other team got extremely lucky on a number of late picks in the draft :)

Now that was funny.

well, even without welker, they assembled a very good roster before manning.

Exactly. They made it to the divisional round with Tebow at QB. I presume the assembled talent was a significant reason for Manning's decision to go with Denver.

For the Broncos, it was all about Manning. Then they made another good move with Welker.

And Decker in the 3rd, Julius Thomas in the 4th, Travathan in the 6th, Malik Jackson in the 5th, Knighton as FA, 2 starters on the Oline as a FA....Champ Bailey via trade and 5 other DBs via FA......but other than that...your right...it's all Manning.

The Broncos have done everything right for the past 3 years.

to the latter, i thought at the time he (or atleast those close) were very explicit that it was a huge part of the decision. essentially, he was the final piece to the super bowl ready roster. very good defense, big LT, lots of WR talent

And a good trade with a east coast team for a beast of a running back ;)

Bills fans think we have a great draft when we get Kiko and Woods and Goodwin in one draft.

These teams get 3x that in 3 consecutive drafts.

if we hit on EJ, and then get a similar quality of 3 starters each of the next two years, we will be every bit as good.
