By definition, almost nobody will match that. He is a once in a generation type player. Maybe once in a lifetime. That's an unrealistic standard to use. I think the possibility of him being "half as good" is not that low. That said, I would be completely giddy if he is as good as Roethlisberger, Flacco, Luck, Wilson, Eli, Rogers, Ryan, Brees, etc, etc.... no need to compare him to Peyton Manning. Take every QB taken, say in the past decade, and see how many are good players. The percentage is small. Very very very small. Before the game started my wife asked a question Manning and I pointed out the being a QB today was different than when Unitas was getting the crap kicked out of him by the likes of Deacon Jones. It is a fallacy. There is no statistical correlation between group statistics and individual predictions. Statistically speaking, you can only say that any given QB is going to be successful or not going to be successful. Whether that QB falls into the 5% group or the 95% group depends on an almost infinite amount of variables and, while one may get a pretty good feel for whether or not any given QB may or may not be successful, it really cannot be statistically quantified. However, on this particular year, for a variety of reasons, I was not planning on going to Sunday's game, thus ending my streak. Then the last couple days happened. Two friends of mine decided that they needed to be at the Ralph and asked me to join. And just like a recovering crack addict with a pipe being waved in front of their face, I immediately caved. And probably just like that crack addict, I feel absolutely tremendous about my decision. Can't wait to help you all rock the stadium on Sunday afternoon! GO BILLS!!!!!!
