There Goes My Plan for Early Retirement!

Stl Bills

Reminds me of when I was about 7, my older brother took me to the Fair and I spent $20 (lot of money for a 7yr old in the 60's). My mother was so pi$$ed at my brother and I ..Until I showed her the gold painted pig on a necklace I won from the crane game. I learned my lesson about wasting money at carnival games that day. My mother kept that pig and would occasionaly bring it out and show it to me for a laugh. LOL

That is almost what happend to me. I lost $20 of my paper route money when I was 12 playing poker. My brother told my mother and she was also pissed. I've had an aversion to gambling ever since.

When I was a teenager I watched some idiot lose his whole paycheck to a 3-card monte shark on the train. I learned a valuable lesson on someone else's dime.

Totally joking. Started my Roth at 25 hrs old. Later then some but before almost all do. Have had at least $6k in savings account since like age 12. I make a little but I save a lot. Hookers and blow only once a weekend.

Wow, you did start early! Born day 1, Roth IRA day 2. Nicely played! ;)

Hmmm you also have to have earned income to contribute. Damn they throw them to the fields early don't they.

And a SSN I would think. They don't hand those out in the hospital to the best of my knowledge.

LOL

I have spent most of my life savings on booze, women & gambling. The rest I spent foolishly.

You play the stock market don't you? Aren't you some kind of investment advisor? Your gambling everyday of your life if you ask me.

Ok so I have an aversion to casino style gambling. And if you think what I do is the same you'd be way off.

I bet $20 on the Bills in 4th grade... In 4th grade losing $20 bucks is aweful. I lost the next year, as well, but only $10. Taught me a valuable lesson - Don't bet on the Bills

Do they not tax the children somehow at the hospital?

All I need to do is walk the floor at the casino I'm working at, and see the people keep hitting that "spin" button at $2/time, several times in one minute, to keep me from gambling.

That whole slots thing is quite depressing if you ask me. I'm an early riser and I've walked through a casino at 6 or 7 am and see them there and walk through later in the day and they're still at it. I'm way too fidgetty for that.

I usually wait for a groupon for my hookers and blow. Every little bit helps!
