2007 Atlanta Falcons (defensive coordinator)

2008-present Cincinnati Bengals (defensive coordinator)

That looks like a fairly good resume to me.

But apparently talks to honestly about how he feels. Can you imagine someone who is honest? I just don't get it.

Where do you hear he's too honest?

In all honesty I'd rather have an offensive mind at head coach. I know it's not a popular opinion around here, but offense has always been the driving force in the NFL. Defense is always just playing catch up.

defense wins championships ;)

and he coordinated some pretty good ones.

I have to agree, it is quite surprising his name hasn't been coming up in any of job openings discussions. All season long when the subject came up his name did also, but since the firings occured, not one mention of his name. I don't think he would be a bad option at all here when you consider how much talent ($$) we have on defense and how putrid they performed.

The one thing with Mike Zimmer from a Bills standpoint (and I hate to say it) is how marketable the guy is and what the fan response would be?

Ideally with a coaching hire you wouldn't even consider these things but pro sports is part of the entertainment business so there is a sales/marketing aspect to it.

edit: It goes without saying that winning sells.
