  1. As an Arizona State Alum, I'm continually hoping for an amazing ASU player to play for the Bills, but am constantly disappointed (see Erik Flowers). Not holding out too much hope for this former ASU punter
  2. Having watched every ASU game for the past few seasons (I'm an alum) I can say that Henry had an amazing career at ASU and I would love to see him in a Bills uniform. While I'm not an expert, Henry caught everything thrown in his direction, which might be helpful with a QB who struggles with accuracy. He's also been the focus of ASU's passing offense so that means he's been the focus of the DCs and yet the kid gets open every game. His QB, Manny Wilkins, was not accurate at all and would just chuck the ball of and let Henry make plays. While Henry's made a number of unbelievable catches, take a look at his punt returns and rads after catch and contact.
  3. Jay, I realize this probably makes me sound like a hipster douche, but how about a couple of craft beer selections at one or two locations. I've become a beer snob in my middle age and really do not enjoy the selection that the Ralph offers. Plus, just imagine how drunk people could get if they offered a 10% Imperial IPA
  4. Agreed, many people close to the University will say that he was much more suited to the pros because he disliked (was bad at) recruiting.
  5. And for those of you that do not live here any more, this article in the Buffalo News might give you a little more insight in to what I think Hopeful is partially talking about. There is the beginning of a downtown Renaissance right now and I believe that a new stadium/convention center would be playing a significant role in that Renaissance. This article about IBM Research coming to downtown is also informative. Also, Delaware North is building a new headquarters. The wife and I bought a new house 2 years ago and I specifically remember looking at one house in Getzville where the owners were two doctors who had moved downtown to be closer to the medical campus. We bought our current house from a UB prof who also wanted to move downtown. While that is anecdotal, I would imagine that this movement of professional, white collar people from the suburbs to downtown hasn't gone unnoticed by our local contingent of real estate developers and even some who are now here from NYC because of the low cost of real estate (Kissling) That being said, it would make sense to build a new stadium/convention center downtown to capture additional dollars beyond football games and I do not think it a coincidence that the "leak" of Pegula was followed by this Jacobs story shortly after. If those two are working in concert, and I see no reason that they wouldn't be, it sends a really strong message to EVERY other bidder that they will not be able to compete. Both of these families have professional PR firms who understand how to use earned (free) media to deliver a message and I believe that this is a message that is intended for people like Larry Tanenbaum or any Los Angeles interests. But I could be wrong. All you have to do is drive or walk around certain parts of Buffalo to see that we are approaching a tipping point in the city where by the 2020 census, we might be talking about how Buffalo's population is on the rise and a destination for people to live.
  6. I also lived in Phoenix (Tempe) during this time and Kelly is 100% right on the move of the Suns downtown and it's effects. Phoenix's downtown corridor is now bustling and with light rail and a downtown ASU Campus, there are a ton of things to do there now. Downtown Buffalo, with the Harbor Center as well as the expanding Medical Campus, is on the verge of turning in to something great. Add a football stadium and we could finally have the sort of downtown that we could all be proud of. I just got back from a week in KC and if you have never been there you would be shocked at the similarities in architecture to parts of downtown Buffalo. Also, I think everyone would be shocked at how nice a downtown KC has and when I was walking around, I kept thinking that there is no reason that Downtown Buffalo couldn't be that nice. I completely agree with you hopeful and also think that there are a number of investors who see the potential for additional growth downtown.
  7. from Jason La Canfora: Bills have been granted permission to interview Jags coordinator Mel Tucker for their DC position. Jets Mike Pettine also a candidate
  8. Class of 92 here. Burfict had all the potential in the world but for whatever reason couldn't mentally get it together. It's great to see him living up to his potential and is another example of why I'm so thrilled with what Coach Graham has done this year
  9. Couldn't agree more. This hire feels different than a lot of the others. BTW, how the the genius DC OC hires go last time? Maybe what we need is a good head coach, not a genius coordinator.
  10. Just the fact that he turned Vontaze Burfict in to a more than serviceable player speaks volumes about his coaching ability
  11. I purchased season's this year for the sole purpose of taking my 8 and 11 year old sons to games. They aren't Bills fans (to many losing seasons) and I thought that the game-day experience might help increase their love of the Bills. So, I'm looking for the best place to park. I'm coming from Amherst and I'm not looking to tailgate. More of an easy in and out. Should I buy the Bills parking pass for $144 which averages out to $16 a game? Just looking for the sage advice of more veteran visitors to One Bills Drive. Thanks
  12. This might turn in to the greatest day ever if we get the house we want today!!!
  13. Don't know if this has already been mentioned- thread is waayyyy too long to check- but imagine for a moment a healthy Sean Merriman. I'll let that sink in
  14. D'Youville and I would have been totally on board as well!!
  15. Thank God I have a student teacher so I can sit in back of my class constantly update this board and my twitter account.
  16. Burfict wasn't even the best linebacker on the team. Colin Parker was and I know for a fact that a Bills scout has met with Parker at a low level "senior bowl" type game after the season. I'm hoping the Bills use a late round pick or sign him as an UFA. Good character, good parents, good kid and hopefully, just like his dad, will develop into a solid pro.
  17. No one wants a Sun Devil on the Bills more than me but this guy is a cancer. Fat, lazy, undisciplined and unproductive.
  18. From Steve Tasker's twitter account: Word has it that former roomy of mine may be the new TE coach of the Buffalo Bills! He's a really good hire. Pete Metzelaars?
  19. I also watched all of ASU's games this year - I'm alumni- and I would concur with Kelly's assessment of Brock. As for Brock not listening to his head coach and waving the punt team off, Brock made the right call on that.
  20. Dave and Adam's Card World here in Buffalo has jerseys for $60
  21. I love these two guys. They sound like football to me.
  22. Happy 100th birthday to a man I've always looked up to - Ronald Wilson Reagan.
