I know how much you have on your plate, so understandable that you haven't seen them....but just be sure to see Casino Royale before Quantum of Solace, cause they go hand in hand. Skyfall should be a stand alone film.

Agree. I think QOS is eminently skippable if Fez is strapped for time. Casino Royale is a must-see and not just for the fact that it rejuvenated the Bond franchise. Watching CR followed by Skyfall should have you drained of adrenaline for a month.

Is it really? So much was left in the air after Quantum of Solace that I expected this one to tie in quite a bit.

This is what I had read at the IMBD.com website under the "Skyfall: Did you Know?" heading: "Director Sam Mendes said that 'Skyfall' does "not connect" with those two previous Bond movies. Mendes has also stated that the secret criminal organization Quantum from those two films does not feature in 'Skyfall'."

Just watched The Bay tonight...I have to say, I enjoy these "found footage" films to begin with, but this one was exceptionally entertaining I thought. Also, working in healthcare and having treated many patients who had resistant bacterial infections and the like, this movie hit home a bit. I'd probably give it pretty high marks...about an 8.2/10

Yeah, it does look pretty good. I am surprised at how many low budget horror flicks there are this month.

I am really looking forward to "Hitchcock".

Three films catch my eye.

"Wreck it Ralph" ...I can't believe John C Reilly is still alive.

"Lincoln"...It's a can't miss with Spielberg. My fellow Texan Tommy Lee Jones and the always interesting James

Spader. Everyone needs to see this because Hal Holbrook is not young and you never know this could be one of

his last films.

"Skyfall" Yes,it's a Bond film BUT with Judy Dench and Ralph Fiennes it can't be all bad!

let me be the contrarian here, but i refuse now to see any movie featuring daniel day-lewis. to me, he's the oliver stone of acting. subtle he's not. and i was fully and completely turned off by that oil movie he did, "there will be dull" or whatever you want to call it. if i want a one-man ego show, i can simply listen to my own thoughts.

It was Charles Nelson Reilly that I had John C Reilly confused

with.

Charles Nelson Reilly was a mighty man

The kind of man you'd never disrespect!

He stood eight foot tall,

wore glasses,

and had a nipple on the back of his neck.

:D

Skyfall turned to out to be true to all the positive ratings it has garnered. Excellent movie with superb acting all around. This is old school Bond from the early Connery days - light on gadgets and gimmicks, heavy on story and drama. I absolutely loved it. If you have to find a flaw, I would say it could be trimmed by 15 minutes as the 2:23 running time gets a tad (just a tad) too long.

I would highly recommend it.

A movie has to be REALLY good for me to not have a problem sitting in a movie seat for over 2 hrs...the positive reivews for this film are really impressive...I'm counting the hours.

Wow, just checked RT....it has a 93 rating...that's huge.
