The 3 T(s) to beating the Patriots

If Buffalo dominates the 3 T(s), they can win this game.

1. Turnovers. The Bills simply cannot turn the ball over, at all.

2. Time of possession. Our offense can help the defense by keeping Brady and company on the sidelines.

3. Tackling. Brady is gonna complete passes. We have to tackle the ball carrier with the first defender to cut down on YAC.

Agreed

if we do these 3 things we will win.

Fitz needs to have a great game with no ints.

Jackson, Spiller and the Oline need to keep the chains moving all day.

We can't have Welker, BJGE, or anyone else running circles around our LBs and DBs.

I'd like to add that we don't necesarily needs sacks but we do need to collapse the pocket that Brady is so comfortable in.

Red zone efficiency.

The team which is more successful scoring TDs as opposed to FGs will win.

Touchdowns and turnovers. You miss your opportunities and you don't win. We will move the ball but do we finish drives? We probably will put the ball in play for pats defenders - do they make the play?

Establish the run early. Keep the ball on the ground and out of Brady's hands for as long as possible in the first half and as much as possible in the second. If we don't run the ball early, there's little to no chance of us ever being able to run the ball again because chances are we'll be getting torched by Brady.

Which leads me to another point, it's time to get some pressure! Hey Wanny, reach into your bag of tricks and find some schemes that will get pressure on Brady without jeopardizing our coverage!

We are once again faced with a game that will decide our legitimacy, boys.

Both the Jets and Ravens have both shown how to beat the Patriots in the playoffs the last 2 years. Last year in the playoffs the Jets did it with 5 sacks on Brady, they also ran the ball well and protected QB Mark Sanchez who went 16-25 194 yds 3 TD's passing. In 2009 WC playoff game in NE the Ravens did it with 234 yards rushing to NE's measly 64 yards rushing, they also sacked Brady 3 times. The biggest difference between those two games was that Joe Flacco had only 4 completions with 10 attempts and 64 yards passing.

From what I saw both those teams were able to run the ball to control the game, plus they both had good defenses that were able to put pressure on Brady.

Pressure on Brady is the key IMO, plus Freddy and CJ playing keep away with the ball thus keeping Brady cold on the sidelines. KW and MD are Buffalo's best D linemen, if they get get pressure up the middle and not let Brady step up in the pocket....

But yea, there are other factors that will help the Bills win, better turnover ratio, better time of possession, better tackling. But the biggest way to stop the Patriots is to get in Brady's face and sack him, harass him and never let him get comfortable in the pocket. Lets hope the D is up to the task

This Pats team is simply a juggernaut. They make adjustments better than any team I can think of. Only reason why Eli and the New York (New Jersey) Giants beat them in '08 was the Giants other-worldly defense. They haven't had a defense that talented (when motivated) since then. Also, with the addition of Burress they had the ability to score almost at will. I think if we can score tit for tat with them, we may have a chance late in the game to get a key stop, and then close it out at home. But we HAVE TO SCORE TOUCHDOWNS. That means moving the chains, and keeping those three-and-outs to a minimum.

The Baltimore game was a bit of an aberration. If you ignore the first quarter (where the Pats had a number of successive turnovers) it was basically an even game, where BAL tried to run out the clock, while NE kept scoring. If not for the embarrassment of turnovers in the first quarter, it was an even game.

I think the Jets games are a better example of how to play the Patriots.
