Professional's Opinion on Luck Per ESPN Radio

I just heard Jesse Palmer on the Van Pelt show. He was talking the host about his conversation with Bud Foster (Va. Tech's defensive coordinator who's defenses are routinely at the top of college football) about Andrew Luck. I'm not sure if it took place before or after last nights game, but Palmer said that Foster was extremely impressed with Luck. Foster was saying that he has prepared for and coached against Farve, McNabb, A. Rogers, and M. Ryan in college and Luck was all a step above them all in physical and mental ability (they referred to those QBs by name).

This is coming from an established, respected, defensive specialist who just had over a month to study tape of Luck and the Stanford O. Take that for what its worth but If Luck can be an NFL QB like any of those listed above (and according to Foster he may even be better) he would be worth trading 2 years worth of draft picks for. (please don’t pretend like we are going to find a whole bunch of playoff caliber starters in this draft and turn the team around, no other single player in the draft could help this team for the next 15 years like Luck could)

** I didn’t want to post this 5 times in the other Luck threads so I started a new one.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- If Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck decides to enter the 2011 draft, the Carolina Panthers will take him, two high-ranking team officials said Tuesday.

A redshirt sophomore, Luck finished his season in Monday night's Discover Orange Bowl and has until Jan. 15 to declare if he will enter the draft. Although there have been reports indicating Luck may choose to stay in college, the Panthers remain optimistic he will turn pro.

Luck is viewed as the top prospect in the country by most draft analysts and the Panthers don't disagree with that assessment. The team officials said they wouldn't even consider trading down in the draft if Luck is available.

Well, now that that's all settled, we can always try to work out a trade for last year's TSW draft-darling Jimmy ' The Emu ' Clausen...

(Clausen is the one on the right)

Laughable at best. No ONE is worth trading 2 whole NFL drafts for. C'mon already? Where's the common sense. I'm all for the Bills drafting him. But anyone can be a career ending injury away from never playing the game. God forbid that would happen, but No coach or GM is gonna sacrifice an entire 2 years worth of picks for 1 player. That would be career suicide.

You mean he turned around on his way to Maryland.

he was shot down.

There shouldn't be any surprise that Carolina will take luck if hes there. They will not trade him away, he's considered the best QB prospect in years if not a decade.

The questions is what do the Bills do to address QB, because they have to, if only to fill Brohms spot. Outside of Luck i don't see anyone who has franchise written on them, but maybe there's a diamond in the rough out there.

Is this information Carolina doesn't know? I seriously doubt it and as a result, they will not trade this pick. There roster sucks as well and they need to start somehwere, why would they choice to not start here?

Unless there's a car accident, the Bills have ZERO shot at Andrew Luck!

Luck plays in an ideal conference for putting up numbers at QB (especially this year). He also had a pretty rough game against the Ducks who don't sport any kind of killer D. I'm thinkin' the hype train is getting carried away on this kid. I'm not seeing the kind of arm on him that Bradford and Stafford have. Also, if you watched the Orange Bowl last night, you know he's not going to be getting those kinds of pockets in the NFL (where ever he goes). I'll be interested to see where Mike Mayock has this guy.

#1, every draft board will have him there if he declares.
