I was at a bachelor party of a local who knew Josh Reed from LSU. A few other rookies (I think it was Reed's 2nd year) were in attendance, Terrence McGee, Paris Jackson, and maybe Angelo Crowell (in total there were 4 or 5 guys with Reed, but he was the only one we actually 'knew').

At any rate, my buddy and I had attended the party at the behest of another friend who was closely acquainted with the host and groom to be. At some point he decided to hop in the limo with the groom and left us stranded at Dock of the Bay.

Reed saw our predicament, and offered to give my friend and me a ride downtown. We thanked him profusely, and enjoyed riding in Reed's Denali and figured it would end there.

Once we got downtown, we continued to thank them all for allowing us to squeeze in and impose upon them. Josh said "You guys aren't goin anywhere. We had to go to the white clubs with you, now you have to go to the black clubs with us!". He insisted that we hang out with them, and we did. Obviously we had a frikin blast!

Can't say enough nice things about Reed!

5. Getting cuffed at Bills-Chargers in San Diego in 2005 going into the game, thrown into the drunk tank, taken down to detox and then getting arrested in detox, before spending the next 12 hours in San Diego County Jail. All the while wearing a Sabres jersey and Canisius College basketball shorts. In Hollywood two nights before we saw Avril Lavigne, Vince Vaughn, Chris Rock, Spike Lee and Jenny McCarthy, so that was pretty cool.

4. Bills 38, Seahawks 9, 2004 and the partying we did in Vancouver two nights before the game.

3. Jim Kelly's first game vs. the Jets, 1986

2. There are so many- regular season comeback vs. the Oilers (1987?), clincher vs. the Jets in '88, playoff win vs. the Dolphins ('90 season), Jim Kelly's 6 TD's- including 4 to Beebe vs. the Steelers, 3 weeks in a row comebacks vs. the Broncos, Raiders and Jets (people forget about the Jets one), etc., etc...

1. Greatest comeback in NFL history. Period end of story. I remember when it was 35-3, me and my friend were saying that we were kind of psyched that we may be witnessing NFL history- the biggest blowout in NFL playoff history.

God bless my Dad for getting season tickets from '86 - '95. That was pretty f'n cool of him.

OK,

...so we are probably in the slowest part of the season or close to it right now. And I am bored with the lack of things to talk or read about. I have never started a thread before as I have never really thought of anything original to say. But I was thinking the other day, I have some great Bills memories. And as much as some of you guys get on my nerves sometimes and I may disagree with you, you just might be cool in your own way and I just don't know it. so here is a chance for all of us to get to know each other a little better and share some good tales and just enjoy the comaraderie for a change. After all, though it doesn't always seem that way, we ARE ON THE SAME TEAM! Go BILLS!

So obviously, i have to start. I've got 2 I'd like to share.

The absolute coolest thing I have ever done as a Bills fan takes me back down to Tampa, Fl for the first superbowl against the Giants in 91. I was a young lad of about 21 and had just moved down to tampa in october of 90. I had started a furniture moving company up here in Rochester a couple years earlier and hated the snow so much, or working in it anyways, that I wanted to try my luck in Florida. So anyway, I had a 24' moving truck with no lettering on it sitting in my front yard. And then one day, a brilliant idea came to me. why not paint the truck up with Bills stuff and drive it down to the stadium for the game.

So I proceeded to go buy some red and blue window paint(didnt need white as that was the color of the truck), the kind they use at car dealerships and such. I grabbed a yard stick and some tape and went to town on the truck. On one side, I painted a huge blue charging buffalo with a red stripe and wrote AFC champs next to it. And on the other side, I made a huge flag that took up a good portion of the side. I even made sure there was the right amount of stars on it. And next to that, I wrote "Our Hearts Are With You Troops". It came out awesome I really must say. And on the back I think I just wrote the bills, afc champs.

Come Superbowl sunday, I drove that sucker on down to the stadium. I can remember watching the helicopter gunships with machine guns at the ready circling around. It was just a surreal day. As I got closer to the stadium, I can't tell you how many Bills fans, and even a few giant fans, stopped to take a picture in front of my truck. It was just an incredible, once in a lifetime moment and I am pretty sure nothing is going to top it. I almost bought a scalped ticket but it was 500 bucks and a little too much for me at the moment. So I watched the game outside on a huge screen they put up at the mall next to tampa stadium with about 5,000 people, about half bills fans, half giants fans. I can remember holding hands with people at the end, waiting for history to make itself. And well, we all know how that day ended. I think i cried, but not really sure. I was so damn drunk at that point. don't know how I got the truck home either. But alas, I am still here to tell you about my best Bills day ever.

I know noone likes novels(but at least I am using paragraphs!), so I'll make # 2 short and sweet.

...a few years back, the last times the bills swept the Dolphins, or the time before that (it's all a blur), i was sitting with my buddy in our season seats, corner endzone Bills side near the scoreboard about 12 rows up. Anyway, I tell my buddy, i really wish i had a broom cuz we're gonna sweep these fu##ers!. now we are at the ralph. No way will I ever get my broom. So halftime, or sometime cuz I'd be lieing if I said I knew when, my buddy goes to get us some beers. When he gets back, lo and behold, he has a frigging broom with him! How the Hell? don't ask me how, but he found a janitors closet and stole the broom. How cool was that?!

Needless to say, we swept the phins that day. After the game, we stayed and partied it up in the parking lot like good fans do. And then,.....the dolphins bus came rumbling towards us down the road. I ran up next to it and started waiving the broom back and forth. oh man they had to of been pissed! that was AWESOME! what a day! :w00t:

ok boys, and girls(at least cablelady and lori-are there more?), those are the coolest Bills things i have done. sorry so long. Have at it. and go BILLS!

After the win in the AFC Championship game b4 the last Super Bowl, me and my friends thought it would be a good Idea to have a parade, so we loaded up a couple pick-ups and drove around the city in our Bills gear....very cold!!...We thought we were going to get pulled over, but to our surprise the cop was a fan and he gave us an escourt for a few blocks and blew te siren every time we came upon a bar to "warm up."

no..not really...as far paragraphs go...although I probably should have, and normally I would have ! Do you feel guilty about starting a sentence without capitalizing the first letter of a word? ie: i know Miami..........

January 1990 - Bills somehow got into playoffs but ended up visiting Cleveland. On a whim I decide to call Ticketmaster (remember this is before the internet, ebay, stubhub, etc) and what-do-you-know I am able to get tickets! So my first "away game" was the playoff game against the Browns where Beebe did his reverse pogo. Also went to 2 playoff games in Pittsburgh.

Had airfare and hotel but headed down to Tampa for SB XXV without game tickets. Went to the Bills Bar (Nickle City), got the name of a guy from the bartender, called him, and on Saturday night got the last 3 tickets he had for $500 each.

It was a playoff game in, I belive the late 80's, Buffalo v. Houston. My brother and I flew up from Pittsburgh,

and were on the same flight with Jack Ham, and got to meet him. Ham was doing color for the game

for on of the big networks. We sat in one of the end zones, and Warren Moon was driving the Oilers for what would have

been the winning score, late in the game. Fans started throwing snowballs, that wre more ice than snow. A second

before one of the snaps, I saw an iceball hit Moon right in the top of his helmet, he had to feel it. The PA come over the loudspeaker and tells the fans that the Bills will be penalized if they do not stop throwing stuff. My brother jumps up and

yells at several rather large and quite annebrieated fans, that if he see them throw another snowball, he is coming down to

kick there asses, not sure that it really had that much effect, but they stopped. Buffalo somehow hung on, I think the final was like 10-9 or something. Stopped at I belive the Holiday Inn by the airport, and had one of the best meals that I have ever had, and the beer was just so tasty. Flew back to Pittsburgh very content. Was only topped by the following:

My Father had a Construction Company, and he had a couple of aircraft at the time, and due to business had been flying back and forth to Buffalo every weekend. The Bills were playing Miami in a, I belive first or second round playoff game.

I asked my Dad, if my wife and brother could catch a ride this weekend, he told me the no planes wre going that weekend.

We planned on driving, and the Friday before that weekend, my Dad called and said that he would send the plane just for us, I almost **** my pants, cause that ain't like him. We flew up, had a couple of extra tickets for the Pilots (all die hard Steeler fans), and watch the Bills squish the fish in a snow storm, in what I believe was Kelly's greatest play-off game.

I think the final was something like 44-30, but was very much in doubt, late in to the game. The Pilots were rooting their asses off for the Bills, they got caught up in the moment. Flew back, and the pilot dropped the plane out of a ceiling so low,

that as soon as we broke the clouds, we hit the runway, damn that was scary, but well worth it.

OK, one more, used to go to Fredonia, went one training camp when Kelly was like a first or second year Bill. When we went out to watch the second of the two-a-days, just before they started, Marv was on the sidelines loosining up, I guess he was probably in his 60's at the time, any way, he gets down and starts doing push-ups, and I can remmeber the kid next to me, when Marv got to about 20, state, "oh, look at this old man, he thinks that he is in shape or something" followed shortly by "holy ****", when Marv reached 80 or so, I belive he did something like 100 straight. When Marv finished, all of those in attendance started clapping, and Marv turned around, tipped his cap, and took a bow.I have this on film, it blew my mind.

For me it had to be attending the 1990 AFC Championship game against the Raiders. The atmosphere was incredible and watching the Bills dominate Oakland 51-3 was absolutely the best. I remember coming to the realization at some point "Holy ****, my team is going to the Super Bowl!" One of the greatest feelings a football fan can have. The memory still lingers 20 years later. After waiting so long, it was an incredible feeling. Hopefully next time the end result will be better.

Actually, I do feel quilty for not capitalizing. I know we have the grammar, spelling, and punctuation police roaming the tsw board. But it was such a damn long write that I said screw it!

I've been to Nickel City a few times. Actually met a guy from Buffalo there that took me claming in St. Pete somewhere. It was pretty cool waiding out in the water, digging up the clams, and actually shucking them right there with lemons and hot sauce to boot!

I guess $500 was the going price at the time. I should have done it. Though it WAS fun outside the stadium. I made up for it and went to the superbowl in Pasadena. Snuck in a video camera (back when they were huge and not on everyones cell phone!). Come to think of it, I recorded M.Jackson at half time. Maybe that's worth something now? hmmmm?

I had taped the Bills Raiders 51-3 blowout on VHS and brought it with me to Tampa, and into the Nickel City bar, where they showed it on their TVs, over and over and over the entire weekend.

Well at least I won't feel guilty replying as I write novels too!...lol....

#1 Going to a Bills/Miami playoff game in Miami with my Wife and young daughter back in the early 90's when we had Flutie/R. Johnson. Can't remember the year, but in the end we lost a close game...a fumble or something near the goal line I believe. Anyways, We drove 24 hours to get to Miami, and did it in about 28hours or so. I did most of the driving and was exhausted. We had our minivan decorated with Bills writing and paraphanalia. When we got on I-95 in Florida we suddenly started to get a hard time! People were purposely messing with us, switching into my lane just barely in front of us without turning signals like they were trying to cut us off...It was horrible...Different vehicles would mess with us, and keep trying to cut us off. Then as we started to get closer people were swinging their dolphins out the window trying to outdo us. When we got within a few miles of their stadium it was pooring rain like a monsoon! I had to get gas and parked under a partial covering. I decided to use my credit/debit bank card instead of going back and forth with cash. The cashier told me that their was a problem with my card and step inside. I was getting drenched of course and you could tell the two punky guys thought they were funny. So I get back outside (I really needed gas bad)..and the pump begins and then stops and one of the guys told me they had to reset the pump and to step inside again...I do so and get more drenched! I'm trying not to show how p.offed I am getting....We played this game a time or two more and finally they let me get gas and be off. I pull into the stadium parking lot and I guess I was a little earlier than security liked so they told me to come back in about an hour. I drove around and wasted some time...and now I was two hours before game time as instructed. I drove to the will call parking lot and security turned on the lights and sirens on their SUV. They followed me and stopped me even though I wasn't doing anything at all wrong. They asked me a few questions and I told them that I was picking up my tickets at Will Call. They responded by telling me to come back tomorrow they are closed! I explained that it was game day morning and I needed my tickets prior to the game..but they messed with me a little more...Finally they let me proceed to will call and I picked up my tickets. Unfortunately, there was a mix up they said with my tickets and they put me in the endzone almost right next to their team mascot. Some Roman like guy that kept pointing at me and my family (yes we had our bills shirts and hats on). By this time I was exhausted from the drive and really wanted to be left alone. The usher asked to see our tickets as we walked down to our seats. I remember that older guy saying that we needed to take our seats and be quiet. He told us (me in particular) that if he saw me standing up or yelling or anything that I would be removed from the stadium. We quietly sat down and kept quiet as we were in enemy territory and were receiving derogatory comments already from the fans. People were throwing peanuts and empty cups at us without any cause, except we had Bills shirts on. This continued throughout the game and then every few minutes their mascot would point at me and so would would many of their fans! They were yelling stuff at me and I just kept quiet and hoped the Bills would win. After it was obvious we blew it and were going to lose people were rubbing our noses in it even more, throwing more stuff at us and yelling obsenities as well. We went to our car quickly and I removed all the Bills writing and stuff on the sides of the vehicle. People would still mess with us when they saw our license was from NY State and their were probably license frames saying Bills or Sabres on them. It was a long ride back and as far as I am concerned I hate the Fins and always will! Later, I will give story #2 and 3...but my fingers are worn out now! squish the fish!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First, you're an idiot for the following reasons:

1. You went to an away game with your family (consisting of your wife and young daughter)

2. You bought tickets in the endzone....yeah yeah the will call mixed them up.

3. You were driving a minivan

4. You coated that minivan, in opposition colors....then drove to the stadium.

I mean, what in the hell did you expect? Was it your first NFL game...or do you like in a tunnel in Kaisertown?

Let me tell you something, NFL games are fueled by mob mentality in the worst way, its ABSOLUTELY NO place for women or children especially if you're not rolling 6-10 guys deep, and you're ready to kill...not fight, kill.

You're either really really really really dumb, or just plain crazy. Either way, I think you got off easy.

That was your sister dude? I was probably the fifth to do her and the line was wrapped around the corner. I cant really say that was my best bills experience. The last time we beat the Patriots at the home opener was the best. Man, do I hate the Patsies.

I used to live in Edinboro, Pa, when the Bills would have their scrimmage against the Browns and a few practices. I just walked right out on the field and watched them practice, and hung out at the fieldhouse with them in between. There was no security, I just walked right in. Larry Centers was great to the kids. He would see a group of kids and run right up in his pads and talk for a half hour, sign anything, take pictures, whatever.

Tony, after reading your story, I'm pissed off. Those !@#$ing classless fish.

If I could just choke out several dozen thousand Miami and New England fans, I would feel a lot better.

Classless? How about the first 2 sentences of your post, and I don't even care if you were joking.

So women aren't allowed at NFL games unless they're accompanied by a large group of men who are ready to kill other fans. Got it.
