I knew they were going to be really thin at the end of last season, but this is just scary.

T.O. was the best we had and he's gone now, which is fine, but that's a lot of production the Bills are going to miss.

I have never thought Evans was a # 1 either.

And, FWIW, I think Roscoe is gonna be in the package deal for Gaither.

I'm going out a limb with David Nelson but we'll see. Gailey wants big receivers so I think if the kid shows any kind of ability he'll be on the roster.

I think Chan gives Roscoe another chance to prove he can play. He also has special team value, which i think will be utilized on punt returns. Im excited about Stevie Johnson, feel like he always makes the most of his opportunity. I like him as a number 4 receiver. With Easley and Evans starting and Hardy and/or Roscoe with Stevie Johnson.

I think Roosevelt will def be a PS player, but could be on the active roster if he can play ST. Think this kid has a bright future on the team.

What pissed me off about T.o last year was hbis lack of effort on some routes. He wouldn't finish his routes and would throw off the qbs rhythm. I think Lee will benefit from the size of the new Wrs. Letting him run free more often.

BUF should keep an eye on CIN's wr cuts:

http://blogs.bengals.com/2010/05/19/receivers-bubbling/

They also have Mizzou TE Chase Coffman on the roster. He sat out his rookie season - bum foot, and evidently he has't picked up any blocking skills. Call him a big wr. Since they drafted Gresham, and Reggie Kelly is re-signed, I think he may well get axed.

Interesting. Thanks, Stucky. Good Info.

As far as the WR core, I agree with CarolinaBill on his picks almost exactly, while adding Roosevelt to the practice squad.

I edited the post - added a blurb about their #3 from their '08 draft - TE Chase Coffman.

That is one of the strongest receiving corps in NFL history.. I just can't wait for the season opener! How are we going to keep them all happy with them sharing playing time? Is there going to be jealousy because probably no more than three of them will go to the pro-bowl?

Finally we might have some receivers taller than 5'10" tall you think that may have contributed to a lack luster passing game ?? You can throw to some one you can't see !!

I'd say Lee Evans and Marcus Easley are locks. I think you can pencil in Stevie Johnson, I really like him and I think he will make plays, I think he may get the starting nod opposite Lee, although I think he's better fitted as a third slot receiver. I think Roscoe will probably make the team, he has talent and hopefully Chan can bring out the best in him unlike the previous regime. The last spot will be tricky. I want to say James Hardy, but if he has a lousy preseason, I could see him being cut. If Chad Jackson could come in and make some plays and play solid special teams, he could lock down the last spot.

Probably a couple of those youngters will make the PS, I'd have to say Roosevelt and David Nelson.

May I add that while this may very well be the worst (at least most inexperienced) receiving corps in the NFL, I for one am really excited about Hardy, Johnson and Easley getting reps and seeing what they can do. Nothing pissed me off more than last year when the season was lost and Hardy and Johnson weren't even dressing.

I agree with the Loyal Bills Fan.

Roosey will be on the PS at a minimum, Special Teams is filled with washed out LBs and WRs, since we have a boatload of unheralded WRs and LBs in will be vaguely interested to see who makes it as a Special Teamer\Depth play, Rooset might even make it to the squad. They have to keep the local boy, fan favorite around, at it looks like he just might be able to play too.

Being on a FF Dynasty League for about a decade where you keep your entire roster from year to year, I remember Chad Jackson coming out of college. He wad great skills on paper. Since the Bills are pretty much starting fresh with very few locks at any position if Chad Jackson gets his mind right and realizes this is his last shot in the NFL, he might live up to his paper potential. He has bounced around after being a second round pick and if he doesn't make it on this squad with very limited talent at WR he is not going to make it anywhere.

Hardy seemed like a text book bust WR pick when he was drafted. Really Tall, couldn't run the route tree well, played on an offense that just had him run go routes and use his greater basketball, athletics to beat out less athletic defensive players for the ball. All that being said maybe something will click with him this year after watching the team play for most of his NFL Career. Good news is Malcolm Kelly and Limas Sweed haven't done much either so there isn't a coulda, woulda, shoulda situation.

Samething as the LBs on this squad, ALL of the WRs have alot to prove in OTAs and Pre Season.

And yes it is very likely that we pull in cuts from other teams. (Matt Jones, Cin, was my sleeper WR tip for a late round flyer in fantasy football, however it appears that he is becoming a popular "sleeper" if that is possible, so he may get drafted earlier than the late-late rounds where he should be picked.)

Ok, let the doomsaying start ... these guys are inexperienced but once again the unknown factor is the Gailey one. He is going to call the plays; his neck will be on the line each week if we don't produce offensively; his teams usually move the ball; and it looks like our running game is going to draw the attention of defenses.

I cannot imagine Roscoe making this team. Gailey repeatedly talks about both mental and physical toughness and the only touchness I can see from Roscoe is his mouth. We now have a stockpile of punt returners although I doubt any will be what Roscoe was for that one beautiful season of returns.

Hardy is the great unknown. He has shown nothing to the fans but there is an implication from One Bills' Drive that he can be a player worthy of his #2 pick. I have him making the team but he also could be a suprise cut if he fails to meet the Gailey mental and physical toughness requirements.

All that being said, I see the potential of these receivers to become something special. Easley's pick made me scratch my head but I have watched his highlights a few times now and come away really impressed. The same holds true for Nelson. I have always liked what Steve Johnson does when the ball is thrown his way but it seemed that Dick didn't want to give him a chance. I am a Lee Evans' fan ... we just need a quarterback who can get him the ball.

I would love to see Naaman make the team but there is no doubt that he makes the PS. Huggins may make the team based on ST play but his spot could go to Roosevelt.

TO is still out there ... so if none of these guys pan out who knows.

These receivers seem to have size, football speed after the catch, the ability to catch the ball in tough situations, and they seem to be quality "character" guys (I know ... who cares as long as they score).

Now, let's see which of the four QB's is in there and whether they can throw more than the DICK philosophy of 4-6 yard passes even when it's 3rd and 10.
