How stupid are you when on the verge of making millions you go get high? If Goodell wants to do something to control these rookies make this punishment suspendable. If you test positive during your senior season or at the combine you are suspended the for 2 preseason games and 6 regular season games. That would be an eye opener to these kids!

This kid will either get his ship straight quick because he's in NE with Belichik or Ricky Williams himself out of the league.

apparently drug test failures for weed, are not uncommon.

and really, who cares... that's one drug that makes no 'advancements' to ones game

It's been made known that President Obama uses a perscription medication that many corporate executives use to help them stay awake and stay more alert - especially on long plane rides. I cannot remember the name of it, but from what I have heard it is basically legalized speed. Should we hammer the POTUS for using performance enhancing drugs?

I really don't care if he used weed. But this excuse "explaining that it stemmed from the 2006 death of his father, Dennis, who died of complications following hernia surgery while Hernandez was a junior in high school." is utter BS.

How can you get suspended by a company you do not work for yet?

Oh, hey, here's an option -- make it LEGAL!

+1 to both of you guys. Legalize it and tax so you can reduce the influence of the drug cartels along the border while giving a cash crop to the farmers.

The only sports that should test for weed are any sports with guns or motor vehicles.

Didn't Warren Sapp drop in the draft because he tested positive for weed (or maybe just rumors that he smoked ganja)?

Despite his boorish behavior on the field (and there are plenty of examples, according to Wikipedia), the taste for THC didn't seem to negatively impact his abilities.
