  1. Chris Berman on ESPN Sportscenter just said that the Arizona Cardinals were the first team ever to score 30 points without a rushing OR passing touchdown! I found that pretty impressive...and quite amazing given what the Bills have been doing.
  2. I'm sorry but I have to disagree...if Randy Moss, Brandon Marshall and Anquan Boldin can get traded, Lee Evans can get traded. Even Wes Welker and Roy Williams had put up equal numbers to what Evans has done, prior to them being traded. What good is he doing for us right NOW? As far as I am concerned, Evans is as good as a draft pick right now...we would actually be getting MORE value in the draft pick, since we are building for the future. As far as I am concerned, for the Buffalo Bills, RIGHT NOW...the ONLY players who are NOT replaceable, are "playmakers." And...we unfortunately do not have many, if any of those. When I say "playmaker" I am speaking of somebody who can break open a game, so maybe "Game Changer" is a better term. Based on what I think of the potential of these players, not their play this year...I would "franchise" the following: *Brian Brown OR Levi Brown - 1 or the other, develop that player to see if you at least have a "career backup." *Fred Jackson - Great leader/mentor...UNLESS he could fetch something equal to/better than Lynch. *Corey McIntyre - Good leader and special teams ace...adds intensity needed for this team! *Roscoe Parrish - I think he is worth more than what we could get for him. *Shawn Nelson - Has the talent to become a receiving threat. *Wood/Levitre/Bell/Urbik/Wrotto - There has to be at least 2-3 capable starters out of that group. (plus Wang/Howard) *Spiller/Nelson/Easley/Roosevelt/Wang/Howard/Carrington/Troup/Batten/Moats/Coleman/Harris - Rookies...No need to explain. *Dwan Edwards - "Grew up" in a model franchise, could become great leader and player. *Kyle Williams - Could make great bookend/leader duo with Edwards if a nose tackle comes around. *Paul Posluszny - He is a great leader and solid player...and could be better with a pass-rush and d-line. *Leodis McKelvin - Could become a very good cornerback. *Jairus Byrd - Sophomore slump...he is a very talented free safety, he will rebound. *Donte Whitner - He is a great leader, a good player...and with Byrd could form a dominant duo. *Moorman and Lindell are givens...but will need to eventually be replaced. **I would keep Maybin and continue to develop him...put some weight on him and don't give up hope yet. See what you can get for anyone and everyone else...and let's build this thing for the future!
  3. It only took 1 post for the words to come right out of my mouth!
  4. I initially thought George Edwards was going to be alright. In reality, the problem could be him as a d-coordinator, or the problem could be the talent he is working with. I think the problem is most likely the lack of talent at key positions that are needed for the 3-4 to be succesful. Everyone says the Dolphins defense is so much better without George Edwards, especially the linebackers...most notably the inside linebackers. But they have Mike Nolan coaching the defense, instead of Paul Pasqualoni...and most importantly, they added Karlos Dansby and Koa Misi. I also think missing Channing Crowder has hurt them a little. However, one of their biggest improvements has been their defensive line and especially their secondary. So, of course their defense is going to be better. I wouldn't put all the blame on Edwards, or compare anything to his stint with the Dolphins and say, "He doesn't have what it taks to be an NFL Defensive Coordinator." I think if he had quality talent at HIS position, he would be a little better. But...if there HAD to be a change...why not George Catavolos?
  5. Hence the reason I linked to it in the original post! Hey Dean - I am happy to see we agree on something...and that you MAYBE think I added a worthy thread to the forum. (Yes, I know it has been brought up before...but I thought it needed to be reviewed again, given our recent failures and transactions. I certainly think this guy deserves a chance...not even a 2nd chance, he is still deserving of his FIRST chance in the NFL. I really do not understand why NOBODY has given him a shot. I really think he could be a decent player with a HUGE chip on his shoulders. If he were to come in, compete and win a starting job, or any job...and then perform at a respectable level...all the nonsense talk that he may hear, would certainly come to an abrupt end. I do not think it is as bad as it sounds or looks, given the circumstances. I have a feeling somebody is going to give him a chance and that team will be very surprised and lucky to have done so...I hope it's us! PS. What do you mean by it being an "NFL blackball?" You think it's Goodell's doing that he is not in the league???
  6. Buddy Nix needs to pick up the phone and call this guy...and make this ONE move to sign Tony Washington...it could drastically change the future of this team, or it could not do a damn thing...but, the Buffalo Bills have NOTHING to lose...so, why not? http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/Teams-are-reluctant-to-give-Tony-Washington-a-shot.html Why not try? He cannot be any worse than Cornell Green and it could turn into a tremendous story...not to mention, if he developed it could turn into an extra draft pick in a roundabout way. I would completely be on board with this, but then again...I am also one who wanted, and still supports Vick. However, before you go comparing this guy to Vick or anyone else, and saying you do NOT want him in Buffalo or on this team or in your neighborhood...go read his story first and think about his situation, before you judge him. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=5497517 *Can you imagine the chip on this guy's shoulder?
  7. I will pay you for them if you still have them!
  8. You sound like a complete moron... Name me one DT we should have gotten instead of Troup, who is playing at a high level right now...or even playing period? Is Bruce Campbell even playing? Putting Roscoe's name in there with Hardy and Maybin? Really? Then you cap off your genius thread by saying...and I quote..."I just hope we get Locker!" Wow dude...go get your head examined! Wanna just bring back JP Losman?
  9. Really? The midget from Michigan? Haha...I have honestly seen/read it all now!
  10. Wow, really people? There is no difference between a chest-bump and pretending to shoot somebody???
  11. I bet you and everyone else on your 2008 Orchard Park Quakers are such better football players, huh? Donte Whitner would not have even started on your 2008 Orchard Park Quakers, huh? !@#$in' idiot!
  12. I agree with the original poster to be honest. I was thinking this earlier and was going to put something up on my Facebook about it...yes, because I get picked on A LOT! However, I think this IS the best thing and what I am hoping for. I want the overall #1 pick, more than 0-16...I would rather be 1-15...0-16 would be more ammo for opposing fans. Orlando Pace, Peyton Manning, Michael Vick, Carson Palmer, Eli Manning, Mario Williams, Jake Long, Matthew Stafford and Sam Bradford...all former #1 overall picks, in which the team actually got RIGHT...all of them pretty much to an extent, single handedly change the fortunes of their teams within a couple years. Sure we are still awaiting a verdict of Stafford and Bradford, even Williams and Long...but they sure do look like names and faces you could change your culture and represent your franchise with. You could even go back further for examples, but I am not old enough to know how those teams (Elway, Aikman, Bruce...etc) were the years immediately before and after those draft picks took place. The Patriots and Bledsoe are another example. If we end up with the #1 overall and Buddy/Chan CAN GET IT RIGHT...we will be well on our way back to respectability.
  13. No, its not you...deadspin even says that same thing in one of the articles. I have a very hard time believing this is true, and that this DeadSpin site is the ONLY place with knowledge of it. Here is the other article... http://deadspin.com/5603701/brett-favre-once-sent-me-rooster-shots-not-a-love-story And there's no real evidence that Favre's been horndoggin' it throughout the latter part of his NFL career. Maybe he was just lonely while he spent time in New York and sought some companionship with Sterger who, if you hadn't noticed, does resemble his wife, Deanna. One thing that is notable is this: it turns out that Brett watched last year's Super Bowl at home in Mississippi. He didn't watch it alone, however. According to one source, he watched the Saints miraculously defeat the Colts in the company of one special guest: Tiger Woods. I wonder what those guys talked about?
  14. Trent won the job against BUFFALO'S DEFENSE...it was against others that he struggled... ...so I would be careful of what we wish for.
  15. In the grand scheme of things, you are right and I do agree. They were the 2 men who were brave enough to take on this disaster...and the only REAL way to do it, is to just blow the whole damn thing up and start from scratch. Get all of the dead weight that is NOT yours. Try to develope what you brought on board or think you can salvage. Get rid of the rest. Build through the draft...however, I disagree with their Free Agency plan. I think they need to go out and sign some BIG-NAME guys who could come in and be leaders and house-hold, face of the franchise names. 1 for the Offense, 1 for the Defense...Moorman for Special Teams! I am looking at about 2-3 years before this thing starts to take-shape...but I think we could be relevant again.
  16. I have been thinking this all week...especially with all the guys they are getting rid of! Will we be able to field a team in 10 weeks with players ANYONE has heard of?
  17. So like I keep saying... What happens in a year or 2 (tops) when we need to replace the (then) 32 year old Fred Jackson? Go waste ANOTHER draft pick on a RB? Because that IS what we will have to do...Spiller will not work as an every-down RB. You cut a 24 year old to keep a 30 year old? That just makes absolutely ZERO sense!
  18. At least Lynch tried to run through them, not dance around them like Spiller does... ..and at least Lynch got that yard...Spiller would have lost it! So you are comparing 1 year for Fred to Lynch's entire career? Yeah, that sounds fair! Fred Jackson barely got to 1,000 yards last year...he had to have like 200 yards against Indy's backups to put him over 1,000! Marshawn Lynch did it TWO years in a row...and he went for about 200 extra, compared to Jackson JUST getting there!
  19. Since when does donating to charity and being a choir boy result in winning football games? Just curious?
  20. That is absolutely what I think is going on here...I think they are setting the team up to be sold! And I am being 100% completely honest!
  21. Maybe Eric Wood should give back some of HIS money! All I keep reading is how other than Green, Wood is the weak link on the O-Line!
  22. Wood is too small for Guard...but you wanna leave Levitre there? Wood is bigger than Levitre.
  23. Nope...we only lose about 6 years! Which in the end, means we will have to lose ANOTHER draft pick on a RB in 2 years, to replace our D-3, undrafted, 30 year old starting RB that we are trying to rebuild with/around! BRILLIANT!
  24. Well how is a 24 year old, 2x 1,000 yard rusher, who has been to the pro-bowl...NOT in your long-term plans??? That is just retarded and it WILL cost them! (Now in a year, we have to go out and draft Jackson's replacement...somebody who can pound the ball and be the #1 RB...SPILLER will not cut it as a workhorse!) Comparing what McCargo is worth to this team with what Whitner is worth to this team...is a complete joke!
  25. He has done it before. Wow...still holding onto to that huh? Stealing a quarter's worth of hand signals from the Jets...THAT is why they won ALL those Super Bowls? GIVE IT UP ALREADY!
