  1. Here's a Q&A interview of him from October. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/10/20/v...e_n_135928.html
  2. Under present law, employees can form a union by signing a card expressing their desire to unionize. If 30% or more sign the cards, the cards are submitted to the National Labor relations Board (NLRB) who will organize a secret ballot election to determine the outcome of the employee desires to form a union. If more that 50% of the employees sign the cards then the union is presumed to exist by virtue of this card check process. However, an employer can request a secret ballot election that would challenge the card check process and therefore cause a formal secret ballot election to take place to determine the final outcome of the unionization process. Unionization advocates want the current employer right to call for an election to be eliminated if more than 50% of employees vote to form a union based solely on the card check process. No secret ballot election would be necessary. The reason is there is concern that employers will use the pre-election process to layoff or harass pro-union employees and to threaten other employees in a bid to defeat union authorization.
  3. My one issue with the safe room they were in was, don't you think that there would be some communication system in there to talk to some off-site security location? The president wouldn't be cut off from the outside world. If they were able to do that, then the VP would have approved the assault right away. I think Renee will eventually leave her FBI job and become part of Jack's team, taking Bill's role.
  4. Cincinnati was founded in 1788 by John Cleves Symmes and Colonel Robert Patterson. Surveyor John Filson (also the author of The Adventures of Colonel Daniel Boone) named it "Losantiville" from four terms, each of a different language, meaning "the city opposite the mouth of the Licking River." Ville is French for "city," anti is Greek for "opposite", os is Latin for "mouth", and "L" was all that was included of "Licking River". In 1790, Arthur St. Clair, the governor of the Northwest Territory, changed the name of the settlement to "Cincinnati" in honor of the Society of the Cincinnati, of which he was a member. The society honored General George Washington, who was considered a latter day Cincinnatus, the Roman who was called to serve Rome as dictator, an office which he immediately resigned after completing his task of defeating the Aequians.
  5. Maybe T.O. will embrace the Buffalo nightlife; dinner of hot dogs and Loganberry at Ted's, an exciting night of bingo at the neighborhood church, and pick up some donuts at Tim Horton's on the way home.
  6. This is huge! Much bigger than Dick Cheney meeting behind closed doors with energy executives to formulate energy policies. Impeach, impeach!
  7. Ooh, you're scary tough. So embrace his heritage and address him by his proper first name; Piyush.
  8. Why don't you and the conservative taking heads call him Piyush, his real name, since you're so quick to call Obama by his full name? Afraid Jindal will be thought of as "un-American"? Hypocrite.
  9. I look forward to conservatives being fair and balanced, and referring to one of their hopes for the future by his proper name of Piyush Jindal, and not his nickname of Bobby, which he said he calls himself because he was a fan of Bobby Brady on the Brady Bunch.
  10. I thought the answer was going to be that they all played too long and ended their careers with a wimper on teams that they're not remembered for. Rice - Oakland Reed - Washington Owens - Buffalo?
  11. Even if they improve their talent, given their coaching, schedule, and strength of AFC teams, I don't expect them to make the playoffs. There are at least 8 teams better than them; NE, Mia, Pitt, Bal, Indy, Tenn, Jax, SD. Then throw in NYJ, Hou, Den, and it will be tough to be in the top 6.
  12. Current home, but with the white pants. I just wish they would put their logo on the shoulder/sleeve like many other teams do.
  13. In 2008 China and Russia proposed a treaty to ban space-based weapons, but it was the U.S. that opposed the treaty. So if China is thinking of deploying, it's in reaction to the U.S. decision. Hopefully a treaty now can be reached. http://blog.wired.com/wiredscience/2008/02...a-china-pr.html
  14. b.harami98's middle name is Hussain.
  15. This is Moore's 5th team in 4 years (NYR,Pitt,Min,Tor,Buf). Makes you wonder why he can't stick. I wasn't expecting a top talent, but at least get a solid vet like Bill Guerin or a power forward like Eric Cole, both of whom were moved for reasonable costs.
  16. His doctor should put a clown nose on and say, "How funny is it now, Patch Adams?".
  17. I've heard erynthered shaves his junk to make it look bigger, otherwise it looks like a baby bird in a nest.
  18. Sign Joey Galloway, he'd come relatively cheap.
  19. Sabres traded Ales Kotalik to Edmonton for 2nd round pick, and then got Dominic Moore from Toronto for a 2nd round pick. If that's all they did, then they really didn't improve the team, and are telling the fans that they aren't serious about a playoff run this year with their lack of scoring, and soft play by most of the defense.
  20. This is why they got him instead of someone like Biron who could step in as a starter: The 29-year-old is earning US$800,000 and will be an unrestricted free agent this summer. He's just going to be a backup for Lalime, and they'll let him go after the season.
  21. That's Bobby Brady, all grown up.
  22. I was hoping they would trade him and get some gritty defenseman. He got a $1m increase over the $3.5m he currently makes. He's just one hit away from being out of the lineup again for an extended length. It's not like they're scoring with him in the lineup. Thanks, Darcy. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=269702&amp...os=secStory_nhl
  23. Bring Joey Galloway in for a look, he's a veteran who can still stretch the field and plays younger than his age.
  24. They cancel this but keep shows like The Bachelor on, go figure. I know it's about ratings, but if that was all people cared about All in the Family and Seinfeld would never have survived. Sometimes these new shows get popular during the summer reruns. I predict that when he goes back to the present time, Annie will be something like the chief of detectives.
  25. Oh I'll go there, because it was a clusterf#$k to put our troops in the middle of that mess. If they weren't allowed to shoot, then that's on Reagan for agreeing with that restriction.
