She looks like she'd clean up well; a poor man's Debbie Harry.

The only one from the likely list I would support are former Border Patrol agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean. http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0109/17595.html

Which means she's not really one, but just pretends to be one.

It's a shame how lower paying jobs have become the only option for many people over the last few years, but in this economy something is better than nothing to pay the bills. The lastest unemployment rate was over 7%, but the underemployment rate was an additional 6%+, putting the total at over 13%.

Give him a break, afterall he is in Dallas.

And what better way to help the economy before he becomes president than to create and maintain jobs. Construction jobs setting up the inauguration structures, hotel and restaurants being booked to capacity, airlines booking flights, and people selling commemeratives.

It's about time that the younger voters in America paid attention and voted on the issues that will affect them. I hope they remain enthusiastic going forward. By the way, I saw at Wegmans yesterday that they're selling 4 different Obama posters.

The final Bush Press conference
PastaJoe replied to Bishop Hedd's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Funny that Charlie doesn't mention what else Obama said about Cheney, which isn't support of their policies, but that it all has to be reviewed to see what needs to be changed... STEPHANOPOULOS: Vice President Cheney has been giving a series of exit interviews and he told Mark Nolan(ph) of CBS that the Bush counterterrorism policies have definitely made the United States safer. And he added this piece of advice for you. (BEGIN AUDIO CLIP) DICK CHENEY: Before you start to implement your campaign rhetoric you need to sit down and find out precisely what it is we did and how we did it. Because it is going to be vital to keeping the nation safe and secure in the years ahead and it would be a tragedy if they threw over those policies simply because they've campaigned against them. (END OF AUDIO CLIP) STEPHANOPOULOS: Are you going to take it? OBAMA: I think that was pretty good advice, which is I should know what's going on before we make judgments and that we shouldn't be making judgments on the basis of incomplete information or campaign rhetoric. So, I've got no quibble with that particular quote. I think if Vice President Cheney were here he and I would have some significant disagreements on some things that we know happened. STEPHANOPOULOS: You would say for example? OBAMA: For example, Vice President Cheney I think continues to defend what he calls extraordinary measures or procedures when it comes to interrogations and from my view waterboarding is torture. I have said that under my administration we will not torture. ..................... STEPHANOPOULOS: So no more special CIA program? OBAMA: I'm not going to lay out a particular program because again, I thought that Dick Cheney's advice was good, which is let's make sure we know everything that's being done. But the interesting thing George was that during the campaign, although John McCain and I had a lot of differences on a lot of issues, this is one where we didn't have a difference, which is that it is possible for us to keep the American people safe while still adhering to our core values and ideals and that's what I intend to carry forward in my administration. http://abcnews.go.com/ThisWeek/Economy/Sto...8199&page=2 -
The final Bush Press conference

Quite the opposite; he didn't mastermind it, he neglected to heed the warnings from the previous administration, and instead was influenced by Cheney & Co. that spreading democracy to Iraq by the point of a gun would solve our Middle East problems, instead of concentrating on the real threat to America. -
Struggling against a team that's near the bottom of their conference isn't something to cheer about. Your glass must be full of kool-aid. I look at the team realistically, not a blind supporter who accepts mediocre play, which they've had for most of the season. Miller is unsteady; makes some great saves then gives up soft goals. The power play is terrible, and the defense plays too soft. Getting rid of players like Tallinder, Max, and Connolly are overdue.
-
It wasn't a great win, a great win is when they get an early lead and then keep the pressure on the other team. They started this game the same as against Chicago, getting outhustled and outscored. Miller continues to have problems with long shots from the point. Connolly is more of a defensive liability than an offensive asset. They got 2 points, but they didn't put the effort in until the game was halfway over.

2 minutes of action and 5 hours and 58 minutes of embarrassing explainations.

Park the car, let them take turns warming up in the car until the bus comes, then say goodbye to the old lady and friend, and offer to take the woman for a drink.

Sorry Francis, I'm past the enlistment age. You'll have to share your soap with someone else. -

Yeah, because all the gays that do and have served in the military are less patriotic and don't follow the codes of conduct like straight soldiers. -

Think about the opportunity cost of not taking the job; when will you find another one like this that's a good fit. As long as you're getting a decent wage, take the job. Being happy is more important than money. And try asking for something like vacation time. Some places make you wait a year before you get 2 weeks, ask for it in the first year. Or if they give 2 weeks, ask to start at 3.

Air Force 1 would not be restricted from flight, it's the flying command center. And they train to be "wheels up" in a short amount of time. They would follow the same protocol as if there was an incoming nuclear strike. Andy Card should have grabbed him and said, "we have to go, now!". -
Do you consider the intangible cost of the harm to the environment and being held hostage to the unstable Middle East, which we would treat like Africa if not for their oil?

The final Bush Press conference

He should have left as soon as he was told there was a crisis. What if he was told there were Russian ICBMs on the way, would he still finish the story? Deer in the headlights moment. Don't take the job if you can't handle it. And his administration's obsession with Iraq instead of al Queda, after the Millinium bombing was stopped and they were warned by the outgoing Clinton administration will forever be on their heads. Bush points out that we haven't been attacked since 9/11. Yeah, but what did you do to prevent 9/11? Strike 1, 9/11. Strike 2, Iraq. Strike 3, Katrina. You're out! -
I think offering to get a Bills tattoo would show a real committment to the cause.

(CNN) — Sarah Palin has complained repeatedly that she was given unfair treatment by the media during her rapid political ascent last year. But Mike Huckabee – a potential rival for Palin in 2012 should they both decide to seek the White House – apparently doesn’t agree. In an interview in the current issue of Esquire, Huckabee speaks sympathetically of Palin, saying she had been subjected to “sexist things that would never have been asked of a male candidate.” But he pushed back against Palin’s assertion that high-profile journalists – particularly Katie Couric of CBS – were biased in their interviews with her. “Now I must say I did not think that either the Charlie Gibson interview or the Katie Couric interviews were unfair,” Huckabee said. “In fact, if anything, Katie Couric was extraordinarily gentle, even helpful. [Palin] just … I don't know what happened. I can’t explain it. It was not a good interview. I’m being charitable.” Since losing his bid for the GOP nomination last year, Mike Huckabee hasn’t been shy about criticizing some of the politicians he might face in a 2012 Republican primary battle – but Mitt Romney has remained his favorite target. In his new book, Huckabee wrote that Romney was "anything but conservative until he changed the light bulbs in his chandelier in time to run for president.”
