  1. It may have been his fault, but it was corrected while he was still president and before 1941. He didn't leave an economic mess for the next president to clean up.
  2. It was a temporary 1 year drop, and then the recovery continued in 1938 and forward.
  3. The positive turnaround began in 1933 and continued with both industrial production and GDP reaching above pre-depression levels by 1937. The war just expanded an already growing economy.
  4. When did I ever say combat operations were equivilent to war? I was arguing against that false premise.
  5. He brought the country out of much worse economic times than we have now, and led the country on a path to victory against much tougher enemies than we have now. Things got better under Roosevelt, things got worse under Bush. To compare the two is an insult to Roosevelt.
  6. Didn't you hear, the Professor Irwin Corey school of thought says you can't have cold weather during global warming.
  7. Koko was an average sized wrestler who danced, Abdullah was a huge fat guy. Kamala was the Ugandan headhunter, with his handler Kimchee.
  8. He's related to Ralph Wilson, so he's immortal.
  9. And I thought it wouldn't get better then the fact he buys anniversary gifts at a Pistol & Pawn Shop. He should set up a video camera and have his wife try it on him so she gets the hang of it.
  10. It's so sad that some people like yourself have been so brainwashed that you think people are cowards unless they serve in the miltary. FYI I've been volunteering helping kids for over a decade, but maybe I should stop because I wasn't in the military. And my manager's son who lost a leg in Iraq still thinks it was a mistake to go there. Iraq is a soverign nation, we are not at war with Iraq anymore. I guess you're auditioning for Bush's job of being fast and loose with the English language.
  11. He would be The Sandman, and his signature move would be the sleeper hold.
  12. Don't know the exact size, but I rarely run out of space unless I record a couple of movies in addition to my list. I let multiple weeks of shows record, like maybe 5 weeks of Top Chef, then watch them all consecutively at one time. You can cut maybe 15-20 minutes from each show by fast forwarding through the commercials and the reviews of the previous shows at the start.
  13. Still fighting the war of semantics. Iraq isn't a war, it's an occupation. The war ended when Saddam was removed from power. And just because you or Bush say it was part of the war on terrorism doesn't make it so. You and he may have thought it was a help, but it had the opposite effect. Ask Sarah Palin what the latest definition of the Bush Doctrine is, it's changed over time to suit the needs of its proponents.
  14. Are we still talking about Dick Cheney?
  15. I just heard a guy make a radio call-in and say; "I didn't like it, especially the poem. How can you have a poem that doesn't rhyme? I don't get it."
  16. He gets 4 years, and then people will decide if he's still better than the alternative.
  17. Military marching bands are parading now...
  18. I don't think Detroit will take a QB with the 1st pick. They'll take an OL or DL, and then get a veteran QB like Garcia or Leftwich. If they're smart they'll build the lines first, and then get a QB next year.
  19. Your fascination with rump rangers made you miss the fact that the fight for independence was not about religion, that was the issue for the Puritans. The fight was over excessive regulations and taxation by the British which benefitted them and not the American colonies.
  20. I just figured that was you pissing on the parade. Never the US, but sometimes the temporary leadership of our government.
  21. It's great every time, even if I don't always agree with the choice. Now go and enjoy the moment.
  22. The whole world is watching the peaceful transition of the most powerful country, with all the former living presidents in attendance supporting our democratic system. A great example for the world.
  23. That's like saying Clinton supported the internet. Obviously as new technological and scientific discoveries are made, someone will be the first president to support it. And if viable alternatives to embryonic stem cells were proven to work just as well, then this would be a moot point. But until they are, we should support all types of stem cell research.
  24. They'll release enough players that it eats up most of their cap room, and then claim that's why they can't spend on any quality free agents. So in effect they'll eat up virtual cap dollars without actually having to pay out the money, and have an excuse for not being aggressive in free agency.
