The Curse of Doug Flutie!

I guess the blame can be shared with Johnson & Phillips. -
The Curse of Doug Flutie!

It was 4th and goal from the 6 yard line and Flutie took a head on diving tackle. My point is, if Andre Reed didn't act like an ass, hit the ref with the ball causing a 15 yard personal foul penalty, it wouldn't have had to that last drive. I blame Reed on that loss, not Flutie. -

No, I blame him for not running the clock down to about :04 seconds, that way once we kicked the FG, the game would have been over and no chance for the Forward Lateral. -

3 points compared to 7 points would have made all the difference in that game. Instead of needing a TD on the last drive, we could have kicked a FG. My point is, multiple players screwed up in that game, but some still blame Flutie. I am a big Flutie fan, but I also know that he wasn't a Kelly, Elway, Marino, Montana type player. Then again, he wasn't a Rob Johnson or a J.P. Losman either. -

The Curse of Doug Flutie!

I guess Moulds fumble and Reed's personal foul penalty/ejection at the goaline had absolutely no impact on the game either?! -
It's too bad the Sabres cheap, embezzling owner didn't spend some money and get at least 2 to 3 quality players. With having the world's best goaltender, we should have won multiple Stanley Cups with him. Instead, Sabres ownership & management expected Hasek to carry a team of sub-par, mediocre players to the Stanley Cup.

The Curse of Doug Flutie!

First off, it was one of the biggest boneheaded decisions to replace your starting QB who guided the team to a 10-5 record and a playoff berth. Starting Johnson in the playoffs caused numerous false start penalties in the first half of the playoff game. Because of the numerous false start penalties, we were backed up in our end zone and Johnson was sacked for a safety. Second, a veteran QB would have ran the game clock to around :04 left, that way, once we kicked the FG, the game would have been over. Third, why in the hell do people continue to blame Flutie for the Miami playoff loss. That loss should be shared by Eric Moulds & Andre Reed. Moulds had a costly fumble in the first half. Reed got pissed at the refs because the ref didn't signal "Touchdown", so Reed hit the ref in the back with the football, getting a 15 personal foul penalty and ejected from the game. So, instead of having a 1st and goal from the goaline, it's 1st and goal from the 15 yard line, all thanks to Reed, a veteran WR who couldn't keep his composure. On 4th and goal from the 6 yard line, Flutie got smashed by the defense. It would have been nice to have 4 downs to try and score a TD from the goaline, instead of having to drive 15 yards. Great job of not keeping your composure Reed! -
I said 11-5 last year, so don't feel bad.

I read a couple of posts saying "You're not a true fan if you want your team to lose". IMO, all of us deserve better, the fans, the Bills players from the 90's, the Bills Hall of famers, we all deserve a better team on the field. Not to knock on the city of Buffalo, but people have been leaving the city in bunches since the steel plants closed up in the 80's, but yet the stadium is always sold out. We shouldn't have to setlle for mediocrity or a below average team. I hope the Bills win every game, but I know it's not going to happen. I'm not saying Dick Jauron is THE WORST coach in Bills history, that's debatable between Bullough & Stephenson, but Jauron is not a winner either. There are so many problems with this team that overlap anything positive you can say about them. Our offense is absolutely terrible, our run defense sucks, our DE's can barely get a sniff of the QB. Four years of Jauron ball is more than enough. 10 years of not making the playoffs is more than enough. It's time for some serious changes.

That sounds just like McGahee. I'd rather trade with Baltimore for Troy Smith.

What's Our FO's Dumbest Move of the 2000's
Jerry Jabber replied to BB Fan 4 LIFE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Drafting Mike Williams. Drafting Whitner over Ngata. Hiring Donahoe, Williams, Mularkey and Jauron. Letting Pat Williams go. Drafting McGahee. -
Anyone catch Thurman this morning?
Jerry Jabber replied to BillsVet's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's just as bad as going with Rob Johnson over Doug Flutie in the playoff game vs the Titans. -
Where is Jim Mora when we need him..."PLAYOFFS...What, are you kidding me....PLAYOFFS!!!!" Look, right now, mainly our secondary is saving our butts. I hope Jauron sees how big of a difference Byrd & Wilson make as starters. But, our offense looks terrible. In the last 2 games, we had 2 to 3 good drives in each game and a ton of bad drives on offense. Special Teams has turned around, but our offense has to get more than 2 to 3 good drives to keep winning games.

Definitely bring those cheerleaders!!

Ted Ginn to Buffalo?
Jerry Jabber replied to Glass To The Arson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nothing against him personally, but IMO we should have drafted Ngata instead of him. Whitner is a hard hitter and a leader on the team, but Byrd & Wilson look awesome in the secondary. We should trade Whitner for either a T or LB. -
Frank Rizzo, he's the best!! He'll work circles around ya...he'll wrap ya f@!kin' head in with a ratchet.

Bills try out QB Patrick Ramsey
Jerry Jabber replied to joshsin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Bills should look at Jeff Garcia. He's mobile and from canada, so you know he can play in bad weather. Yes, he's old, but he would be a good veteran backup. -
Fitzpatrick - Dilfer comparison

I agree. Hopefully, Fitz can connect more with the WR's. It was nice to see some good passes to the WR's yesterday. -
Is McGee back on kickoffs permanetly again>
Jerry Jabber posted a topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It was great to see McGee taking a kickoff again and taking it 30 yards. I really hope McGee will be taking the kickoffs again for the rest of the season. Now that Jackson & McGee are returning punts & kicks, our return game is looking good again.
