  1. The Bills finally put together a solid draft class in 2011, and someone is complaining about a 4th round pick? Seriously?! Guess Searcy & Hairston suck in your opinion? Oh yeah, Evans was so great, that I can't believe the Bills only got a 4th rounder for him: 2009 44 Rec, 612 yards, 7 TD's 2010 37 Rec, 578 yards, 4 TD's 2011 4 Rec, 74 yards, 0 TD's The Bills should have gotten two first rounders for that kind of production
  2. If that happens, it will be Panama all over again!
  3. Drew Bledsoe should be a QB coach. Look what he did for Brady.
  4. David Lee Roth has been hired by the Bills? Awesome!!! http://www.buffalorumblings.com/2012/1/12/2701869/buffalo-bills-courting-david-lee-for-coaching-staff-per-report "Lee spent 2011 as the offensive coordinator at Ole Miss, and was most recently in the NFL as the quarterbacks coach of the Miami Dolphins for three seasons. There, he was widely credited for introducing the "Wildcat" offense to the NFL, a look that he picked up at Arkansas."
  5. I agree 100% that Polian would have gotten more out of that deal.
  6. You are right: http://www.profootballweekly.com/2010/10/20/rewind-remembering-the-ricky-williams-trade Gotta eat some crow on this one. Sorry about that. I remember watching a story on the NFL network about the Ricky Williams trade, but somehow got Bill Polian tied in with it, instead of Charlie Casserly. I don't know if Bill Polian's son is to blame for the Colts being so bad minus Manning. It's possible that Bill was hooking up his son with the GM job, instead of Chris Polian becoming a scout and working his way up the ranks. If that's the case, then it definitely falls on Bill Polian's shoulders for putting his son in that position. I just look at how successful the Bills were with Polian, compared to how successful they were without him. The Polian era was the most successful era in Bills history. 2nd, would be during the AFL Championship days, 3rd, the John Butler era. Would the Bills be in a 12 year playoff drought if Polian was still here in Buffalo? I highly doubt it. Polian is a d*ck, then again, so was Thurman Thomas, Jim Kelly and others during their time in Buffalo. I'd rather have a team of S.O.B.'s that win, compared to a bunch of nice guys that lose.
  7. Ditka stated he was willing to give up every draft pick he had that year so he could move up and draft Ricky Williams. Bill Polian wanted to see if he could get Ditka to agree to all of that year's draft picks, plus the following year's #1, and Ditka agreed to it. I'd say that was a bold & smart move on Polian's part.
  8. So, you're saying you wouldn't be happy if the Bills won only 1 Superbowl? There were so many Bills fans that wanted Bill Cowher to come to Buffalo, but he only won 1 Superbowl as well, guess you didn't want Cowher either? I remember Leaf was hyped up just as much as Manning was. Plus, Polian made a very sweet deal with New Orleans to trade all of their draft picks, plus the following year's #1 pick, just so Ditka could get Ricky Williams. But I'm sure you feel anyone could have pulled that kind of deal off. I guess you forget how pathetic the Bills were before Polian took over as the GM.
  9. I understand everyone loves to work for someone that is cordial and nice. Dick Jauron was a nice guy to his players and staff, but the team was not successful. While Bill Polian was abrasive and a d*ick, he's been very successful in three different organizations (Bills, Panthers & Colts). The Bills were 2-14 before Polian took over, and took them to multiple Super Bowl trips. The Panthers were an expansion team that he took to the NFC Championship game. The Colts were a 3-13 team before he turned the team around, and made them a Superbowl champion.
  10. It was a fifth round pick for Moss. No, Holmes to the Bills is a bad idea. I'd like to see Vincent Jackson come to Buffalo, but with Boss Hogg stating the Bills will not go after high priced FA's, I think that's more of a pipe dream.
  11. I agree about Chris Brown being a mouthpiece for the team. I hope Brown is wrong and the team resigns Johnson. Compared to the 2008 WR draft class, Johnson has had the best stats from that group over the past 2 seasons: http://www.buffalorumblings.com/2012/1/5/2684814/2008-nfl-draft-stevie-johnson-jordy-nelson-desean-jackson "We keep mentioning the last two seasons because, again, Johnson wasn't a significant part of Buffalo's offense until last season, when Chan Gailey arrived as the new head coach. Let's stack Johnson's numbers up versus the six names mentioned above (Bess, Jackson, Royal, Garcon, Nelson and Manningham) to see how each has performed in the last two years: Name Rd. # Rec. Yds. Avg. TD Stevie Johnson, BUF 7 224 158 2077 13.1 17 DeSean Jackson, PHI 2 49 98 2017 20.6 10 Jordy Nelson, GB 2 36 113 1845 16.3 17 Pierre Garcon, IND 6 205 137 1731 12.6 12 Mario Manningham, NYG 3 95 99 1467 14.8 13 Davone Bess, MIA UDFA 130 1357 10.4 8 Eddie Royal, DEN 2 42 78 782 10.0 4 There you have it: Johnson is tops in receptions, yards and touchdowns (despite one heck of a surge from Nelson in that department) amongst the 2008 NFL Draft receiver class over the past two seasons. Between Johnson, Nelson and Jackson, the poor draft class has been able to salvage a trio of really good receivers; add in Garcon and Manningham, not to mention a large contingent of productive depth options that we won't name here, and the class isn't all that bad at all. Thankfully, Buffalo emerged with Johnson, and has allowed Bills fans to forget about 2008 second-round pick James Hardy, who has 10 receptions for 96 yards on his career."
  12. It was on 103.3 on Sunday morning, between 11:30-11:45 when I heard it. If you can find transcripts of the pre-game show on 103.3, then good on you.
  13. The Bills desperately need pass rushers. The Bills haven't had a good, consistent pass rush since the late 90's. But, if the Bills go with the WR's currently on the team (minus Johnson), then they are royally screwed!!!
  14. +2 In the words of the late Ed McMahon, "You, are correct Sir!"
  15. While I was in B-lo this weekend, I heard Chris Brown on the pre-game show on 103.3. According to Brown, the Bills won't use the franchise tag on Stevie Johnson, and if Johnson wanted $7.5 million a year, the deal would have been done already. Brown stated that he heard the number was around $10 million a year. Guess we'll all have to wait and see. I hope the Bills resign Johnson, the Bills already need one WR, so if Johnson departs, then the Bills will need two. Plus, since Ralph stated that they're sticking with Fitzpatrick, then it would make sense to keep Johnson since those 2 work well together.
  16. Nix is Boss Hogg, Gailey is Cooter.
  17. According to WGR, if Johnson got a deal done at $7.5M, that would make him the 15th highest paid WR in the league. http://wgr550.com/CAPACCIO--What-is-Stevie-Johnson-s-Value-/11853951 Currently, Johnson is 18th in receiving yards (with no real #2 WR to compliment him.) http://www.nfl.com/stats/categorystats?tabSeq=0&statisticCategory=RECEIVING&conference=null&season=2011&seasonType=REG&d-447263-s=RECEIVING_YARDS&d-447263-o=2&d-447263-n=1 Terrell Owens was paid $6.5M for his year in Buffalo. Here are T.O.'s stats during his year in Buffalo: 55 Rec, 829 yds, 5 TD's Here are Johnson stats from the last 2 seasons: 2010 82 Rec, 1073 yds, 10 TD's 2011 (15 games): 72 Rec, 964 yds, 6 TD's Johnson has clearly outplayed T.O. and should be paid. IMO, Johnson is giving the Bills a hometown discount and the Bills would be foolish to let him go. Pay the man already!!
  18. T.O. got $6.5 million for his year with the Bills, so why isn't Overdorff agreeing to $7.5 million a year for Johnson?
  19. I forgot about Bledsoe, thanks! That makes it 2 for 5 then.
  20. Evans is 1 for 4 in regards to chemistry with QB's. But, according to some on here, it's all the QB's fault, not Evans.
