  1. Thanks! IMO, the defense would be playing better if they were able to get consistent play by the offense every week. When the defense is on the field most of the game, and back on the field very quickly after a fast 3 and out, it's hard for them to maintain a high level of play for 60 minutes.
  2. I don't feel sorry for the dumb azz that slid and fell. I feel sorry for the guy he landed on as he had a head injury from the retard landing on him. I hope he calls Celino & Barnes and sues his drunken retarded azz.
  3. I wasn't down on EJ in the Pittsburgh game for a few reasons. 1. He's in his rookie season. 2. He's missed 4 games in a row and it was his first game back (and it was road game). 3. He missed half of training camp because of his injury. 4. Him & Hackett (two rookies) went up against one of the best DC's in the league (LeBeau) who is 18-2 against rookie QB's.
  4. Earlier in the season, I was critical about Kyle Wiiliams and the D-line's inability to stop the run, and felt the D-line wasn't getting enough pressure on the opposing QB's. I felt if KW couldn't come back to form and if his foot injuries continue to hinder his game, then the Bills should look into replacing in in the offseason. I am eating a big bowl of crow as KW is having a great year so far. Yesterday, KW had one of his best games in his career as he had 2 sacks including a forced fumble which set up the Bills first and goal at the 4 yard line. The run defense has improved up the middle where it was a big problem in years past. Dareus has stepped up his game as well. IMO, this is the defense we were expecting to see last year (lots of pressure on the QB which leads to sacks, bad decisions/INTs). Even though it took a little time, I'm glad to see how well the defense is playing now that players are coming back healthy and getting accustomed to Pettine's scheme. Now, if the offense can play consistently good week in and out, then the Bills will be a playoff contender.
  5. Until the Bills start making it to playoffs and kicking the Jets butts more often, players like him will continue to look down upon the Bills. Glad to see the Jets get their butts handed to them yesterday.
  6. Great point about Spiller being a better receiver than Graham. During Gailey's tenure, he had Spiller go out for deep passes of 30 yards or more.
  7. I've seen Tuel air it out a lot more and different plays called for both Lewis & Tuel than Manuel. Is Manuel a Captain Checkdown? So far, it appears to be. You are right that Manuel does have problem with his accuracy, but when he does throw accurate passes (as well as Tuel & Lewis) the Bills receivers have had butterfingers. I know there were 6 drops vs the Chefs, and around the same yesterday.
  8. I agree. Another thing I noticed is that Hackett opens the playbook more for Tuel and Lewis than he does with Manuel. Doesn't Hackett trust Manuel, or are they babying his progress?
  9. One big difference I noticed from Gailey to Hackett has been the small amount of passes to the RB's in the slot, screens and dump offs. IMO, I think Freddie and Spiller would have been more effective in the Steelers game if they received more passes in the slot or in the 5-10 yard range.
  10. Will next year be 15 years of missing the playoffs? Glad I didn't line up for One Bills Drive kool aid this offseason. Should be interesting to listen to the homers say how much harder the Bills have been playing under Marrone... this is a young team...give the new coaches a chance...you just gotta Billieve!! Heard it and seen it over and over...new faces, just same ol' schitty Bills year after year.

  12. I think the Bills at a minimum will go 7-9 with wins coming from Pit, Atl, TB & Jax. The 3 that are the big questions are the divisional games. It's possible the Bills could beat Miami again, but I don't see the Bills beating the same divisional opponent twice (hope to be wrong). The Jets & their defense will be very tough. If the Pats rest their starters then the Bills have a good chance of winning that game, otherwise if Brady & the rest of the starters play, the Bills will have a hard time winning.
  13. I always thought a WR's job was to get open and provide an outlet for his QB, now you're saying SJ shouldn't have done that?
  14. I believe he had 3 (which doesn't include Goodwin's pass break up).
  15. Graham should be demoted down to 5th or 6th WR and have Goodwin promoted to being the 3rd WR/deep threat. Imagine if the Bills had a top 10 QB with their current offense. Hopefully that will happen before Pettine leaves to become a HC somewhere in the NFL. He had more than 1 drop today.
  16. Today, Chandler had some costly drops which would have kept moving the chains. As a pass blocker, he's below average (as evident by last week and other games as well). Don't get me wrong, I like Scott Chandler, but IMO he is an above average backup (or #2 TE) at best.
  17. The Bills are giving this game away
  18. http://www.buffalorumblings.com/2013/10/30/5045976/bills-vs-chiefs-buffalo-protection-problems-vs-blitz "Yes, Erik Pears was beaten soundly by Cameron Jordan for a sack, and Cordy Glenn was walked backwards into Lewis by Junior Galette to force a hit and an overthrow. Other than that, the Bills' offensive line was fairly competent in pass protection against the Saints. Buffalo's problems keeping Lewis clean largely stemmed from their inability to handle the blitz." "Flip through the gallery above to see what we're driving at: the Saints routinely sent five, six and even seven pass rushers at Lewis. Buffalo's backs and tight ends missed blocks. Ill-timed (and poorly executed) play fakes slowed down Lewis' ability to recognize the pressures. When Lewis did diagnose the blitzes pre-snap, he struggled to correctly identify and hit his hot reads." I noticed Scott Chandler and the Bills RB's having problems picking up the blitz against the Saints. I'm not sure how much Lee Smith is used during the game, but I feel he is a much better blocker than Chandler and should be used more in pass protection. Will that solve the problems in picking up the blitz? Who knows, but Marrone & Hackett need to come up with a solution, otherwise the Bills QB's will continue to take a pounding.

  20. I agree that Spiller should rest for a week. What would also help the run game is if Hackett calls a few reverses to Goodwin & Graham during the game.
  21. One, because I feel like it. Two, I agree with the author's points. While the Bills are in close games, they are making a lot of mistakes which are proving to be their downfall.
  22. http://www.buffalorumblings.com/2013/10/13/4835754/the-trial-and-errors-of-the-new-buffalo-bills "So far, the Bills are 2-4, a record which is surprising to others. The Bills had chances to win all of those games, but the aforementioned mistakes proved to be too costly for the team to overcome. It seems the new Bills staff is quickly learning from its mistakes, but how many more mistakes will we see throughout this season and over the next couple of years which could cost the team more victories?"
  23. I agree, that would be awesome to see Mario break it.
  24. I was interested in seeing where Mario ranked on sacks for this season, and so far he's 3rd on the list with 7.5. http://www.nfl.com/stats/categorystats?tabSeq=0&statisticCategory=SACKS&conference=null&season=2013&seasonType=REG While 7.5 sacks in 5 games is impressive, I'm surprised at the sack numbers of Justin Houston (8.5) and Robert Mathis (9.5). Not only does it seem that Strahan's sack record could be broken this year (22.5 sacks), but there's a strong possibility there could be multiple players surpassing it as well. http://www.pro-football-reference.com/leaders/sacks_single_season.htm
  25. So much for all the talk about the Bills not being able to run on Cleveland's D. Great TD by Spiller!
