Tabor/KOR Unit Shine in Win Over Buccaneers
Big Turk replied to HoofHearted's topic in The Stadium Wall
It's hard to win games in the NFL when you are basically letting a team start at midfield all game long -
Hardman is likely not playing on a short week after injuring a calf in the game Sunday.

He is also the same player that went 11-21 for 87 yards and 4 INTs against us a few years ago... I don't see Mills gashing us in the pass game...if they lose it will be because Marks and Chubb hurt us in the run game and we can't score enough points against their D. I don't expect that to happen tho...we should be able to handle our business.

Tyrell Shavers reminds me of John Stallworth....

Also helped that Dean left the game very early and never returned. He was having a standout season. -
yeah, he is approaching Tua territory...

I could see the Pats losing twice in a row to us and the Ravens, especially in Baltimore.

Ah gotcha...I think maybe both him and McD realized that it is that time of the year that they have to let the MVP be the MVP and just trust that he will get it done. No more time for playing conservatively or safe and trying to protect him as much as possible...just let him go out and be Josh...not surprisingly he responded after a little bit of a rough start by "Going Sicko" as he calls it on them.

Dorsey got fired. Daboll left for a HC job with the Giants in the offseason, although there was speculation he would have resigned and went elsewhere if he hadn't gotten it due to tension between him and McD. Dorsey was just terrible in terms of his ability to call games and know how the flow of a game should go...it was just a mish mash of plays called whenever he wanted with no feel for when to call them or why or in what situations they would be most effective or how to set up the defense with playcall combinations and/or plays that looked the same that they showed them earlier in the game that are different, etc Dorsey reminded me when I used to go out to clubs back in the day and you'd go to some clubs where the DJ knew how to get into a flow and maximize everything and take the crowd somewhere and then other clubs the DJ would just play whatever song in any order and completely wreck the flow of the night. Same songs, just no understanding of how to sequence them properly. That was Dorsey in NFL terms.

Josh Allen doing Josh Allen things, and why we need it

I think not having Coleman taking up a spot on the field and limiting what they can do with him is a net positive right now for them. Would not be surprised to see him down again this week. Shavers has the same skillset but is just a better player right now and Davis is far better than Coleman has ever shown, plus is great on scramble drills and has great chemistry with Josh, something Coleman lacks in spades.

Whoa...hold on...what London did against the Bills when BABICH was calling the D in the first half. Once McD took over, Atlanta gained like 70 yards of offense the entire 2nd half.

Rapp can stay on IR for all I care, he has looked terrible and Bishop has really taken off since Poyer was back there with him. Poyer has NOT been terrible actually. There are some plays he has been a little slow to get to along the sideline, but he has made several nice plays...and helped Bishop tremendously. But moving forward next year and the year after, I agree Bishop and Hancock should be the duo...that would give us 2 pretty athletic safeties that can cover ground.

Yeah, that's exactly my point...in the KC game where Klein was forced to start coming in from his couch, KC averaged over 10 yards a play into the 4th quarter...I mean were they supposed to try and get into a track meet with them? Let's be real here, a lot of what they have had to do offensively in those games is to try and protect the defense. Wasn't happening for Lamar either apparently which is why you play to the gamescript of the game to try and win the game, not play Madden.
-
Which explains why the game plan in many of those games was clock control, keep the ball as long as possible and limit possessions...to protect the defense. Or don't you realize that is what they were trying to do with how they played? When KC is averaging over 10 yards per play mid-way thru the 4th quarter that's a pretty big issue don't you think? And it came extremely close to working as they held the lead into the 4th quarter in those games most of the time...

Brady put up over 4800 yards and 50 TDs in 2007 when they really started to use him more as a pass first option and at times barely even ran the ball. Also, the difference between what Allen is doing and what Brady did, mainly because of his dual threat ability as the best RZ QB of all time, is that if they play the same number of games and Allen continues at this pace, he will end up with a staggering 160 more TDs than Brady with 809. Also should easily extend his record streak of consecutive 40+ TD seasons to 6 with no end in sight...no other player has done it even 4 times and Allen is cruising towards a record that may never be even approached let alone broken...10 years? 12 years? Allen has a decent shot at becoming the all time leader in rushing TDs at this point, which is absolutely absurd.
