  1. This should become our new theme song post loss. "Red Alert! Red Alert! It's a catastrophe! But don't worry! Don't panic! Ain't Nothin' going on but history, yeah... But it's alright! Don't Panic!" Bills are 30-8 after the bye under McD and 30-7 in games with starters, not counting last years rest game. They'll be just fine, like they always are. This team is at their best when their best is required. At least in the regular season.
  2. I guess it's a fine line of deciding whether it's a case of a new DC having to "learn on the job" in some ways or a DC that just isn't very good and isn't making progress. Only McD knows that for sure.
  3. People are way too high on the Pats. This is an average to slightly above average team that will have struggles as the season gets tougher in late November and December. Maye is really good, but he also is still young.
  4. Bills are 30-8 post bye since 2020 under McD including 1 meaningless loss last year in a game they rested starters at the end of the year. Meaning in real games, 30-7, for an an 81.8% win percentage. One thing with this team is that you typically get their best in the regular season when their best is required. I doubt that changes
  5. I don't know about that...he rarely takes a good shot and when he is near the sidelines regularly runs out of bounds to avoid unneeded contact, which also helps mitigate that.
  6. I mean they had another on 4th down and Ty Johnson wide open but instead of setting his feet and throwing, Allen decides to be lackadaisical and try that backhanded shovel that he has been getting away with a lot and now is starting to use when it's completely not necessary. Of course it ends up well short...Johnson had room to run as well if he put it on him. But that Allen play, Rousseau lining up Offside to start the game, Brady trying to get "cute" on 3rd and 1 near midfield on a drive in the 2nd half that they could have tied the game on and instead of Allen shnowplow twice if needed to get it, he decides to run the exact same play they fumbled against the Patriots with Knox this time to Moore and he fumbles again and gets tackled 2 yards behind the LOS. It's like stop being so freaking lackadaisical in these games and just do the things that work. It might be boring, but they work.
  7. Probably the same you thing you said last year. The mind numbingness on this board is at an all-time high. As if they will continue to play as bad as possible the remainder of the season...as if we haven't seen this exact same storyline play out multiple years already. At what point do you believe the best predictor of future results is many years of previous results in the same situation? Or in other words, the definition of insanity is seeing the same thing happen over and over but then expecting different results from the past. The Bills have lost 2 games a row every year since 2017. Bills record the last 5 years: 13-4 11-6 13-3 11-6 13-3 I mean theoretically if we follow the script, we will be 11-6 this year. If not then probably 12-13 W.
  8. My thing is they are blitzing hard, you have a game breaker at RB, why not line him up in the slot and just let him work against LBs on some quick slants or wheel routes? Why do the Bills not run common sense routes against blitzes like slants? Also, why not Coleman? He is a big body that is able to shield the defender and has shown the ability to turn those into big plays before. Like why are the only 2 routes Coleman runs most of the time a back shoulder comeback or an intermediate out route? It seems they have the ability to mix things up far more than they are.
  9. More like I actually see things for what they were. Under Frazier's defenses from 2017-2021 over that time the Bills ranked: 1st in yards per game allowed (310) 3rd in points per game allowed (20.4) 1st in opposing passer rating (78.0) 1st in Total Takeaways (140) Seems pretty absurd to claim they got "lit up in the first half" routinely based on those facts. Even if you want to claim they allowed 17 points in an average first half and then 3 in the second half, so what? Last time I checked the game is 60 minutes, not 30 and you don't get bonus points for taking a lead into halftime.
  10. Allen is on pace for more scrambles than any year in his career by a wide margin. Are we just going to make up things now?
  11. Because they have 2 guys coming back from suspension they need to activate in Hoecht and Ogunjobi and McD says there is a good chance they open the window on Hairston this week, although they don't need to add him to the active roster until the 3 weeks is up. Then they either have to activate him or he remains on IR for the rest of the year and they can't use him at all.
  12. There is a general lackadaisicalness with this team right now...like they have been good for so long that they are just going thru the motions early in the year and are good enough to usually still win. Rousseau lines up Offside on the first play of the game which is a fumble the Bills recover and gets wiped out. Allen instead of setting his feet and delivering an easy 1st down throw to a wide open Ty Johnson on an important 4th down tries the backhand flip he has done many times that always worked except it doesn't work this time. Joe Brady instead of doing an Allen Shnowplow on a 3rd and long 1, twice if needed, near midfield on a drive that could tie the game, decided to once again try and "get cute" with an end around to Moore that once again for the 2nd week in a row cannot be handled properly and it gets dropped, he picks it up but loses 2 yard so then they can't even go for it on 4th down since now it's too far. Probably other plays and things that happened too, but those are the 3 main things that stood out as just plays where people just aren't "dialed in" properly across the board and making dumb decisions in important situations because they weren't on the details properly like the team normally is.
  13. I saw the flag go out immediately at the snap and I was like either illegal shift/formation or Offside...
  14. I mean they got a TO on the first play but Rousseau inexplicably lines up offside.
  15. Bills fans: OMG the sky is falling! We suck! We are going to finish 3rd in the division! Even the Fins will beat us out! Vegas: Yeah, we have seen this before many times. We know how this plays out.
  16. I mean nowhere near as embarrassing as Anthony Richardson fracturing an orbital bone while warming up with a resistance band during pregame and having to spend the game at the hospital.
  17. Adams but really it doesn't seem to make any difference with the Sabres who is running them. They have been singularly awful for 14 years in ways the Bills never even came close to during the drought years at their worst. The worst part is they have enough talent but mentally they just have nothing. Imagine having a franchise level QB and DE in Thompson and Dahlin and being one of the worst team in the NFL year in and year out.
  18. Most of them. This October swoon happens every year and every year people freak out and claim the sky is falling and every year the Bills rarely lose games coming out of the bye.
  19. It's annoying this team seemingly goes on cruise control after a few weeks of the year where they have it easy and then have to get smacked back into reality that it isn't easy if you don't put the work in ahead of time. Happens every year and every year they course correct and get it humming the further into the season they get. Don't expect it to be any different this time. There are a lot of details that are not being attended to properly by this team mentally and it's showing up on the field. And I want to know if this is a known thing why McDermott keeps allowing it to happen and doesn't make them aware of this troubling trend.
  20. Hoecht is a beast and is like a chess piece that is an athletic freak that can be moved all over the D, and even play some LB.
  21. Will be interesting to see the impact Hoecht and Ogunjobi can make after the bye...two big pieces on D that should provide significant help. Both should be ready to roll after the bye and have an extra week of practice to get reacclimated.
  22. As much as Leslie Frazier was blasted for being "vanilla" and refusing to adjust in big games to change things up, he was exceptional game to game and keeping a high level of consistently good defensive play. We tend to forget that.
  23. Edmunds used to carry WR on routes down the seam at times in coverage...Bernard doesn't give you that and doesn't make up enough ground in pass coverage too often... Usually plays with good instincts but lacks explosiveness to get places with speed too often.
  24. It's not lightning in a bottle so much as they use the bye week really productively most times. Bills tend to go on long streaks of wins around this time...for whatever reason it's like they need time to correct whatever the issue is and the bye week usually gives it to them. Also, WTF was up with that casual 4th down backhand flip to a wide open Johnson? Set your feet and throw the f***ing ball properly. Allen is starting to get a little overconfident in doing "whatever" because he always got away with it and is starting to do it when he doesn't need to.
  25. Reminds you of what happened last year heading into the bye week doesn't it? Blown out at Baltimore followed by one of the worst games for a QB in the modern era against Houston... And then we lost 2 more times all year and once was a meaningless loss when Allen didn't play the last game and we rested tons of players.
