The Bills Defense has only forced 5 turnovers in 6 games.....tied for 26th place in the league. If this D was forcing turnovers, it would look like Natalie Portman......when it doesn't force turnovers, it looks like Natalie the toothless cat lady in the park. I know turnovers can be a matter of luck in some cases, but I hope the Bills D put a premium on figuring out ways to force more turnovers during the bye week.....this D will probably not be able to stop teams consistently without them. Thoughts??

It seemed that they were rotating in Dorian Strong in for a few series in each of the games before his neck injury, and I'm pretty sure I saw JaMarcus Ingram rotate in for at least one series in the Atlanta game.... If they are willing to rotate in Ingram, there should be no reason they won't be rotating Hairston in for Tre as soon as he is ready......he might not replace Tre right away, but he will certainly be sharing snaps.....maybe only a series or two at first, but if everything goes well, his playing time will increase from there.

Geno Smith got his big contract, then promptly turned back into Geno Smith.... It's insane that Miami paid Tua the about the same per year that the Bills pay Josh Allen.....I guess Miami is going to Miami. I don't see how Mike McDaniel will still be the head coach by Tuesday......

Episode 5 of The Lowdown: Peter Dinklage for the win!! This show has been great so far, but this week's episode went to another level with the random guest appearance from Game of Thrones actor Peter Dinklage.....his character was a real a-hole, but he had me laughing throughout the episode....he brought some unexpected humor to this drama. Great show!

I saw somewhere that McD took over the Defensive play calling in the 2nd half.....is this true?? The Defense was markedly better in the 2nd half compared to the 1st, and he has done the play calling takeover before when Frazier was DC. This got me to thinking.....why doesn't McD call the Defensive plays full time?? All the Offensive minded Head Coaches call their own Offensive plays(Reid, MacVay, Shanahan, even loser Mike McDaniel), so doesn't it stand to reason that a Defensive minded coach should be calling the Defense?? Maybe he should put the Defense in his own hands for a while to see if this would make a difference.

This is not meant to be a "hindsight" thread....the consensus of the board at the time (myself included) was that Edmunds should not be given a big money extension..... However, now that Bernard has been signed to a lucrative extension, I think it's fair to revisit if it would have been better to extend Edmunds instead of using a 3rd round pick on Bernard and paying him instead. We know Edmunds is weak against the run, however, I think we all underestimated his value in pass coverage......probably due to the fact that we had peak Poyer/Hyde at the time.....and didn't think of what the D might look like when they would be past their prime/retired. Bernard is stronger against the run, and seems to be a good leader, but is oft-injured, and a liability in pass coverage. I don't know the answer to this one, but I thought it would be an interesting discussion during the bye week after two tough losses. Thoughts??
