Bills' Cuts to the 53 Man Roster Limit
KOKBILLS replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Exactly...It amazes me that the Bills were not more proactive in finding a replacement for Moorman...Especially considering it's a punter we're talking about...It's not like it's that hard to find a decent one...On some teams it may not matter much...On this one it will...Big time... -
Every team...and I mean EVERY team...is going to challenge EJ to beat them until he consistently proves he can...If the Bills try that run on 1st and 2nd down thing they did last year they will get the same results...And DC's understand our RB's are our strength on offense...A few big plays in the passing game can change all that quickly...But otherwise the Bills will see a ton of guys in that box every Sunday...

Preseason Game #5: Lions at Bills - 8/28/14 @ 7 PM
KOKBILLS replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We'll see in Game #1 exactly how far this team has come under Marrone...I'm not panicking...Yet... But after watching the entire preseason I can't help but think that this team looks noticeably better coached on the Defensive side...And they did last year too...Coincidence? Marrone and Hackett have the Offense...It's their baby...And they just look bad...real bad...in stretches on Offense...Especially on the O-Line...Goodness...The penalties and the absolute lack of effective blocking...just...good grief!!!...And I'm not even talking about this Palmer deal tonight...They look sloppy on that side of the ball...And it's clear EJ is not yet the kind of talent at QB that can overcome it...They better tighten it up big time REAL fast...I mean...REALLY tighten it up...Or this season is going to be brutal to watch... -

I've been a big fan of bring Ponder in here for a while... And not to "push" EJ or anything like that...I think he's going to be a viable back-up in the NFL... -

You have to be kidding me with Watkins getting hurt again... Just amazing how this team adheres to Murphy's law... -
I laughed...

I'm VERY happy the Bills are still considering options other than handing the job to Moorman who is well...and I mean well past his prime...

Is Brady Quinn just a glutton for punishment? I mean...

Comparing EJs 1st 10 Games to Kelly's
KOKBILLS replied to Dean Cain's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agree 100%!!! -
The thing I keep hearing about Cousins is that once teams got film on him they found his weaknesses and that's why he regressed last year....
-
I gotta say...These post are driving me nuts...It's not so much whether I agree or disagree in principle...That's actually not even relevant...It the seemingly bull-headed approach by some Bills fans wanting to completely change the path of reality... The Bills are going with EJ this year...More than likely they are going with him next year as well...They have over a year now invested in his development and they used a 1st round pick on him...No QB is coming in the last week of preseason and pushing EJ unless his name is Manning, Luck, Brady, Rogers, or Brees... It very well may not be the right strategy, but it's the one they are going with...I really don't think they could be any more clear and forthcoming in this matter then they have been...And I don't understand the continuous pounding about bringing someone in now to "push" EJ unless you're just setting up the "I told you so's" for next year...

How did my fantasy team do in week #1?
-
I think if he had a full off-season with the Bills he would certainly be better than Thad (at least the Thad we are seeing this preseason) or Tuel...But I think more importantly he's a back-up than can actually help EJ...Thad and Tuel are both as green as EJ, and our OC is inexperienced...I think Palmer is the kind of back-up the Bills should have been looking for all along...Even if he ended up being the 3rd guy...

EJ's post game press conference

I saw the highlights the night of the game on NFL Network...Danial Jeremiah did chime in on the INT with something like... "To be fair the TE Chandler fell down on the play...Still a bad pass though..." I thought that was an interesting analysis...It's a quick throw...it's not like EJ watched him fall and still threw it...He's throwing to a spot expecting Chandler to be there...Chandler is 6-7...Had he not fallen Chandler would have made his break in front of the Safety and the throw would have definitely been in the vicinity...EJ's looking at the spot, and the Safety...He's trying to lead Chandler...He's not looking at Chandler...The play calls for Chandler to flash in front of the Safety...How is that still a bad throw?...I agree these guys just want to beat EJ up...But I guess that comes with the territory of being an NFL QB... -

At the start of camp it was looking like Hairston was going to get a legit shot at OG...Then that talk just seemed to disappear...I agree that Hairston would seemingly be a good fit at OG, especially when compared to Pears...But it looks pretty obvious that Hairston can't gain favor...The fact that Legursky started at LG vs Pittsburg is all the evidence we need there... -

The whole Pears to OG thing had me scratching my head the minute I heard it...While it's true most OT's can move inside easier than an OG can move outside, it's certainly not a given that it's going to work for every player...Pears is long...And I don't see him as being the kind of O-Lineman that will fair well on the inside against bigger, more powerful guys who play with decent leverage...Let alone the absolute monsters like Gerald McCoy...I think Pears is better suited to being the back-up at RT... While I fully understand Cyril Richardson is a work in progress, I think long-term he's the best answer at RG...He has everything you want physically in a top NFL OG...He basically ate his way out of Day #2 of the Draft...But he seems to be past that now...He just needs work and needs every rep he can get...In time I believe the difference Richardson will make, especially in the run game, will be significant...Albeit with some growing pains along the way...He's a Rookie...And it's likely going to take him 6-8 games to start feeling truly comfortable...That's just the way it is... BTW...With a players like Richardson and Henderson...this is the area Marrone MUST make his mark...It's his area of expertise...No excuses here...Marrone needs to be the difference... -
Sam Bradford Tears ACL - Out for the Season
KOKBILLS replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I know right? Seems crazy... The #1 concern about Bradford coming out was his ability to stay healthy...Obviously that has turned out to be a legit concern...
