  1. Well then...That would be interesting... So...They use #2 overall for Manziel I would assume...If they truly like him that much I can't see them chancing him still being around at #8...And then they still put themselves in place for one of the three OT's at #8... BYW...I think this would be brilliant on the part of St Louis...Bradford has not come close to living up to #1 overall, and he can't stay healthy...With that Defense and Manziel who knows? Could be special... But...What happens if Houston takes Manziel at #1 now?...
  2. Whatever the reasoning, I want nothing to do with Beckham Jr...And I'm not saying he's a bad player either...Clearly he's a good prospect...This would be a situation where my personal team-building philosophies get in the way of my ability to be happy with The Bills... I just think it's a duplication of skills for this team as it is constructed currently...I think when you look at the WR's the Bills have brought in to challenge for a roster spots recently it's all the proof anyone needs that they would like to get bigger at WR...If they take Beckham in the first what does that mean for Flash and Woods (Graham could just pack his bags...he's done with this pick)? Because it's not only a WR, it's a WR that is similar (not exactly the same of course...but there are similarities) to those two both in size and skill...Plus they would be taking a similar WR prospect with a 1st round pick...So...There's no hiding him to develop his skills or anything like that...He immediately needs to jump Woods and Goodwin on the depth chart...It's not like Mike Evans, Ebron, or even Kelvin Benjamin where you can run things for them specifically because of height, length, leaping ability, hands...etc...Beckham is going to fit into a slot that Goodwin and Woods already occupy...And both of those guys are here for another 3 years minimum...On top of that there is a very good chance that one from Stevie and Mike Williams will be gone after the 2014 season, which would leave the Bills even smaller at WR... I don't know...Beckham Jr. makes no sense to me at all...I would be less than thrilled to say the least...To me it would be lousy team building...The good news for The Bills if they do Draft Beckham...I've been wrong before...Once... I'm a pretty big supporter of Kouandjio in a trade-down scenario...I do not think he will last till the 2nd round though...
  3. Clowney has said that his preference is for Atlanta to trade up and get him... I'm still not sure Atlanta is going to give up much to get up to #1 overall...The Julio trade got them a great player, but losing 4 net Draft picks...two of which were premium picks (1st and a 2nd)...certainly contributed to their nosedive (along with the injuries)...It will be interesting to see if Atlanta gives up a future #1 again...It would seemingly take a minimum of Atlanta's #1 in 2014 and 2015, along with their #2 this year to get up to #1 overall...I think if Atlanta can get a bargain they'll do it...Otherwise I kind of doubt they have the stomach for it again...
  4. No...It was Greg Gabriel (who I really like a lot and respect...Almost 30 years of NFL Scouting and an ex Director Of Scouting for a team that had a SB appearance...But you can't be right on all of them I guess... ) who said Nassib was the best QB in last years Draft...In fact he said Nassib was the #1 prospect in the 2013 Draft...Cosell liked Mike Glennon best...
  5. Missing the playoffs for 14 straight seasons has that effect on some...
  6. I've thought a lot about the possibility of going up to #6 for Evans...I guess the only question is whether or not Atlanta wants to come down?...I think the key to any trade with Atlanta would be if Clowney, Robinson, Mack, and Matthews go in the top 5...AND...How high are they on Lewan? I'm just guessing...But I think it's a safe bet that Atlanta won't trade down unless those four are gone... Atlanta will absolutely know who the Bills are coming up for...Who wouldn't at this point? So lets say those 4 are gone and Lewan remains...They know the Bills are going Evans so then they'll be hoping Tampa and Minnesota don't take Lewan...OR...Maybe they love Zach Martin and would be happy with him at #9?...Anyway...Oakland could blow that whole deal up by taking Evans at #5...But that's another story...
  7. Especially Beckham Jr...I just don't see the fit at all...
  8. From 9 to 12 I would say I'm likely to be 99.9% right...On the trade chart you're talking about a difference of 150 points...The Giants 2nd round pick is worth 470...Believe in the Trade chart or not, that's a sizable gap...If we wanted the Giants 2nd round pick to trade down 3 spots at the very least we would have to give them back our 3rd...And even that leaves the Giants short value-wise...NY is not Oakland...You're not going to get over on them that easily... I agree they may be in a nice spot if all the QB's are still there at #9...If Manziel remains at #9 I think the Bills are in business...And I expect the Cowboys to at least try to come up...Now that trade would result in a 2nd round pick for the Bills...
  9. I think this off season pretty much proved the market for RB's has never been lower...Knowshon Moreno is only 26 years old and combined for almost 1600 yds from scrimmage in 2013, and he could barely get a nibble in Free Agency...
  10. I hope you're right!!! The Bills need something crazy to happen in the Top 8...Best case scenerio is for the Texans to take Manziel at #1...2nd best scenario is a team trading into St Louis spot at #2 overall to Draft Manziel...3rd best is Jacksonville taking Manziel...And so on...The higher Manziel goes the more likely it is that another QB gets taken in the top 8...If none of that happens we have to hope Barr, Mosley, or Donald somehow work their way up into the top 8...
  11. In a trade down from 9 to 12 it's likely the best the Bills could hope for is a 3rd round pick in return...And seeing as though the Giants would probably be coming up for either Ebron or Martin, I'm not sure they are the best trade partner for the Bills...If the Giants came up to get Martin, then Detroit took Ebron, the Bills would seemingly be out in the cold with only an extra 3rd to show for it... The Bills are in a tough spot if only one of those QB's goes in the top 8...Unless there is a big surprise and a player like Barr, Mosley, or Donald somehow sneak up to Atlanta, Tampa Bay, or Minnesota...
  12. Totally agree on the winning thing...No question that is a fact... And like I said about Nix as mentor thing...For better or worse...I would hope you knew by now my disdain for Buddy...I tried to tell everyone here personally...Did you not get my note?...
  13. That is seriously one of the funniest things I have read in over a decade on this board...It goes right up there with classics like "You never Draft a WR in the top 10...Even if it's Jerry Rice..." Classic!
  14. I'm not convinced that is the case...Whaley said the last thing you want to do is show your hand...If the Bills trade up this year one thing is crystal clear...They showed their hand big time because everyone and their mother is saying they want to do so... I think in the end the Doug's...and Brandon... are going to stick to their plan to best assure their future...And I doubt very much their plan ever called for giving up too much as far as Draft picks go...Both Whaley and Brandon were mentored by Nix, for better or worse, and it was not Buddy's philosophy to give up premium Draft picks...I certainly could be wrong, but I don't see these guys as the panic types...I think they would love to get their hands on Watkins or Evans, but I also think they understand you can't get em' all, and in the end if the top 8 does not fall your way there are FAR worse things then trading down a bit and picking up an extra 2nd or 3rd...I think they look at last year and see they landed one of the best young players in the league (Kiko) by scouting well and trading down...I think Brandon/Whaley/Marrone view the 2013 Draft as a great success and a HUGE step in the right direction...And I think when you have success doing things a certain way you stick to it... So if anything, I would expect a trade down if Watkins and Evans are gone as expected...I think if the top OT's, Watkins, and Evans are gone, and they stay at #9 because they can't find a trading partner, they will go ahead and take Ebron because they feel he is the guy at that point that can help EJ most...In a trade down scenario I think they'll still be hoping for Ebron to slide a bit...But if not I expect Martin to be the target...I think the sleeper in a trade down situation will be Kouandjio assuming his knee checked out...
  15. 1. Johnny Manziel - Jacksonville 2. Jadeveon Clowney - Houston 3. Blake Bortles - Minnesota 4. Khalil Mack - Tampa Bay 5. Mike Evans - Buffalo
  16. I think maybe in a 3-4 he could... Though I don't see him as real 2-gap fit...It's kind of a waste of his talent...He's clearly best suited inside in a 4-3 as a penetrating DT where he can wreck havoc...The problem I see with Donald and the Bills is that he's basically a younger, lighter, and slightly quicker version of KW...I think they are very similar players...Which speaks a lot to Donald's ability, but it's going to be tough for him to get on the field much with the Bills unless he plays out-of-position...
  17. Exactly on both points...
  18. I'm more of the opinion that they made each other look good because they were both very good College football players...I'm not really sure why it has to be one way or the other...They were both stars on a very good College Offense...They also had some very good Offensive lineman over these past two years that helped out...
  19. Pretty much my sentiment... If the Bills take Beckham, even in a trade down, my TV better duck!
  20. Barr is not a DE...It will take at least a year for him to bulk up to that kind of role...I just don't see Barr being a fit for a 4-3 team right now...I think if a 4-3 team takes him he'll disappear the same way Dion Jordan did in Miami last year...I'm not a big Ealy fan...And though I like Dee Ford a lot, and to a lesser extent Demarcus Lawrence, I think they're basically Jerry Hughes-types without Hughes speed, and probably will never get big enough... One thing about this Draft...It has been called the deepest Draft in recent memory and I pretty much agree...But if there is one position it's lacking in that position would definitely be 4-3 DE...And the last thing you want to do in a Draft is chase needs...I'm not too crazy about many of the DE prospects...The players I like that may, or may not fit, are Scott Crichton, Will Clarke and Trent Murphy...I just love Murphy...Over the past couple years every time I watched a Stanford game that kid was making plays constantly...He's instinctive and relentless...I think he's getting lost a little in this Draft because he's the classic tweener...But if he was still available at #73 I think it would be an absolute steal... I'm also intrigued a bit by Taylor Hart later on...
  21. Agreed...Pace was unquestionably more polished coming out... I'm speaking of Robinson purely in prospect terms and what he can be if he continues on his upwards curve...
