Not that it really matters but I think you're confusing the TD play with 2nd down play a series latter where JP hit Roscoe on a 20 yard out (with a perfectly thrown ball btw).

While I've been pleased with Parrish's play thus far the last thing I want to do is pull out the best kick returner in the league so Parrish can get more touches. I really don't think it's too distracting for McGee to return 3-4 kicks each week and I doubt it really has any effect on his ability to play CB.

The thought crossed my mind briefly with the game tonight in NO. Feel good story of football back in the Big Easy. First series of the game Vick gets sacked and fumbles the ball but the NO player knocks it out of bounds as he attempts to pick it up. Since NO couldn't execute the fumble return for a TD plan they have to move to plan B. Plan B being, of course, a blocked punt on the next play when a Saint comes right up the middle unblocked. TD Saints and the fans (and Nation) go wild! No, I don't really believe it, but it did cross my mind for a moment.

I'm with you. In my money league I have Rudy Johnson, Ronnie Brown, Willie Parker & Chester Taylor as my RBs (we start 2 flex players) and I'm somehow 1-2 thanks to having the misfortune of playing the week's highest scoring team two out of the first three weeks. I lead the league in total points but have a losing record. I know this is off topic but I needed a space to vent and found this one.

I don't know who they would have chosen but I would take Aikman and Williams. I know I'm in the minority but I'll go to my grave thinking that Smith was one of the most over-rated RBs (in terms of strictly running the ball) I've ever seen. Without that dominant OL he doesn't come close to the rushing record (Although I'm not sure he would have come close to it had Sanders not retired early). I don’t know how many times I saw Smith running free into the secondary without ever being touched and it wasn’t because of his great vision where he saw a cut back lane and hit it. He was a straight ahead runner that simply took the play where it was designed to go. A good back to be sure, but not one of the greatest of all time Imo.

What the hell does football have to do with the things people are complaining about? Since there's a football game going on its okay to do the things listed? A football game isn't a good place to take your kids? Or be able to watch a game without the fear that someone is going to throw beer on your or pick a fight? Whatever, its attitudes like this that lead to such behavior.

Which is what I said. There wasn't a progression to go through on that play which is what the original post was talking about, not making pre-snap reads. The QB has to make pre-snap reads on each and every play and depending on the look the D is giving him it can change the routes of WRs as well as who the primary WR is (at least in more complex offenses). The primary WR on that play, given what the D was showing, was Parrish. Who knows if he was the primary before the Jets showed blitz.

Actually I'm pretty sure that Parrish was the primary WR with the blitz that was coming.

I just can't imagine that a QB can complete 60% of his passes and throw 1 INT in three games when he doesn't do anything but look down his primary WR. I would also imagine that Evans would have way more receptions if this were the case.

I'm still confused as to why the CBs weren't up at the LoS jamming the WRs after the snap. Giving the Jets WRs a cushion was a rather odd strategic move. It’s not like Pennington was going to beat the Bills deep in that wind.

Are you serious? The Bills and Jets had the exact same amount of 3rd down attempts: 12. The Jets converted 4 and the Bills converted 3. The team that, "generally avoided 3rd downs in the first place" was the Bills as they wracked up 26 first downs with only 3 coming on 3rd downs.

I might give you the first fumble as he did see the blitzer and could have just tossed it away (though I would have prefered that he just played it safe and ate the sack), but how do you expect him to throw the second one away? Are you suggesting that anytime he sees the blitz he should just throw it away instead of having confidence in his RB to actually (gasp!) pick it up like he's supposed to?

You have to be kidding. On the second fumble he dropped back, planted his foot and was in the process of throwing it when he got labeled by an untouched blitzer. How on earth is that holding the ball too long? On the first fumble I don’t think it was an issue of holding the ball too long either, it was just a very poor decision to rooster his arm back to throw it when he knew there was a defender behind him chasing him down. He should have just taken the sack.

The AFC East is pretty bad. Which makes the Bills sucking all the more painful. The division is there for the taking but the Bills still don't have the ability to take it. The Pats will win it by default.

Nah, it ends when the Bills win consistently. When you lose you leave yourself open to a lot of criticism.

Jake was sacked 52 times his first year as a starter (that's in 10 games) and 49 his second. His sack numbers weren't great after that with Arizona either 27, 22, 29, 36. His sack numbers have only dropped once he got to Denver who, surprise, has one of the best OLines in the league.

Yes, these are the exact same circumstances. Plummer has never been sacked from teh blindside and fumbled. He always uses his feet to escape danger. How about looking at a larger sample set than a few plays from tonight's game.

It's kind of odd that you bring this up as today's game was the first time I've seen his stiff arm in two years. He used it 2-3 times today and it was quite effective.

I'll stick with the same record I predicted months ago: 5-11.
