  1. Outplayed Brady? With the game on the line Brady orchestrated 2 TD drives while Edwards took a very ill-advised sack which basically ended the game. Edwards outplayed Brady in the first half but - unfortunately - the game consists of 2 halves... Also, Brady managed to keep drive after drive alive which chewed up clock and tired out the D. The tired D that allowed 2 TDs in the final 3 minutes. Edwards played a fine game, no doubt, but the goal of the game is to win. Brady did what was needed to win and Edwards didn't.
  2. Part of that is Lynch's own doing. The guy has talent, strength and heart - but his vision isn't the best. He misses lots of holes and takes more abuse than he needs to.
  3. Who was responsible for cutting Walker a week before the first game and installing Bell as the new starter at LT? The guy had never played a down in an NFL game, is at the most important position on the OL and doesn't even get to huddle up to gather himself and think about his responsibilities on the next play. That sounds like a coaching decision to me. It might work out in the long term but it cost the team in the game last night. That being said, I agree with your basic point: the play-calling (at least on offense) wasn't bad last night.
  4. The only problem is that teams don't usually rate RBs as top flight guys (unless they are named Adrian Peterson) as they are relatively easy to find in FA or in the mid rounds of the draft and they have a really short shelf life. Lynch is a good back but I don't think they'd get much in return for him (particularly given that his next run in the the law may result in a one year suspension.) They might land a mid level starter but the Bills already have a team full of those types of guys. I don't think it would be worth it given the complete lack of depth the Bills have at RB. That being said, there's no harm in putting feelers out there and seeing if anybody is interested. I also wouldn't mind seeing Jackson get more playing time even when Lynch comes back.
  5. They blitzed here and there - it's impossible to double both WRs when you blitz. There were times that either TO or Evans wasn't doubled (Jaws even pointed out one such time) but the ball still didn't get out to the WRs. Nobody wants him to force the ball into double coverage but he has to give his WRs a chance to make plays when they're single covered.
  6. Re-watch the first half then.
  7. Didn't say he wasn't (I too saw him land on the pile after the sack) - I said they got a lot of that pressure without him, which they did.
  8. Except a lot of that pressure came with Mabin not on the field. Nice try though.
  9. Yep, that's one of the plays - which proves the point that it's not all Mckelvin's fault. Other players made mistakes that contributed to the loss. Of course, the pats still had 3 time outs and the Bills needed to get a first down otherwise Brady was going to get another shot - so it still wasn't a given the Bills win if he doesn't fumble (if it was that much of a certainty the Pats would not have kicked it deep, they would have gone for the onside kick...)
  10. They also pointed out that he had single coverage on a blitz and he didn't put the ball up and let his WRs make a play - he threw it underneath instead. He played a solid game today but to think he played "great" is a large stretch. He needs to find ways to get the ball to his playmakers.
  11. Had the D kept the Pats out of the end zone on either of the last 2 drives the Bills win. Had Edwards moved the Bills down field into FG range the Bills win. Had numerous other mistakes (dropped passes, drive killing penalties) not been made earlier the game might not have even been within reach. How hard is that to understand? NM, go back to your simplistic view that it's all McKelvin's fault if that makes you feel better.
  12. He was manhandled all night. He ran up field on just about every play and was easily pushed wide.
  13. Maybin never really put any pressure on Brady. He ran wide almost every single play and it was a very simple thing to push him wide and Brady to step up in the pocket. It might look like pressure but it's not. The OL loves when guys do this over and over again.
  14. He's right. There were lots of mistakes that helped contribute to the loss. Sure the McKelvin fumble was a big one but that alone did not cost the Bills the game.
  15. On the other hand, if the Bills built on positives and learned from their mistakes they'd be a top tier team by now. Unfortunately we end up seeing the same things year after year with little to no progress.
  16. The Pats did drive up and down the field converting 3rd down after 3rd down. Sure, they didn't finish with TDs most of the time but those long drives take their toll on a defense. Those drives wore down the D which directly led to the late scores Imo.
  17. I don't see how you do it. This team kicks you in the teeth every year and still you remain positive. I really wish I could see things this way, I really do. I'm sure I'd enjoy watching the Bills more if I did.
  18. I'm not ready to say Edwards proved his mettle. He still didn't make use of his WRs and you CAN NOT take a sack at the end of the game. I realize the rush was there immediately but he's got to get rid of it, just throw it away.
  19. I knew someone would come in with a line like this. His sack in the 1st half ended a drive (read: Big play) and his TD stayed on the board the entire game (read: big play). Nobody is saying Schobel is Bruce but the guy is a good DE, there are plenty of players that Bills fans could ridicule yet they choose to get on the back of one of their best players.
  20. yeah, having the top special teams unit year after year is soooooooo overrated.
  21. They blitzed in the 2nd half too. I blame Jauron too but not for not blitzing. I blame him for running a no huddle offense and a bend but don't break D at the same time. It's a recipe that's ripe for losing games in the 4th when you have a totally gassed D who can no longer create pressure. Who didn't think the D would be easy pickings in the 4th with the ToP difference?
  22. I don't blame Mckelvin because this team would have found a way to lose anyway. They would have gone three and out and punted and allowed a punt return or allowed Brady to orcastrate a 75 second, 70 yard drive or Fred Jackson would have fumbled the ball, etc. It's just what the team does, one way or another they'd find a way to lose. Top teams have lots of guys who step up to win games, bad teams have multiple guys who will make the big time mistake to lose games.
  23. Please tell me you're not going to take the moral victory route? This team has been pathetic for a decade and still fans try to find the sunshine during a hurricane.
  24. How is it worse than any of the other choke jobs? I knew they were going to blow it when they went up 24-13. I sent a text to a friend saying, "just watch, this will be dallas all over again." I'm guessing most Bills fans knew they'd find a way to lose - it's what this franchise does.
