  1. The two Doug's work for him, so he has to support them as much as a superior can. Ultimately though, this is still Ralph's team, he still gets his marching orders from Ralph, and the bottom-line constraints that have been put into place by Ralph still have to be met. There is absolutely no way that Ralph gave him carte blanche to do as he pleases.
  2. If they fall too far out of line, they will not be part of the program much longer.
  3. Only Russ is on the same 'side' as the other 2... Team Ralph.
  4. Yes, some people are extremely naive indeed. Brandon is not going to do anything that goes against the S.O.P. that Ralph has established, and the other two remain in place to keep him in check.
  5. Until we see otherwise, it's Marrone/Whaley vs. Brandon/Littman/Overdorf(aka Ralph's stooges). Ralph may not be calling the direct shots anymore, but standard operating procedures at OBD have never changed. When it comes to the bottom line, everything is set up exactly the way he wants it.
  6. I agree on the twinnies, I didn't like them the season they were on, but they are very funny. I was rolling last night, especially when they were slamming the Afghanimals (who are also funny). Cowboys FTW, but I like most all the teams left. The only 2 I really don't care for are the team with the idiot who didn't use the express pass, and the Globetrotters (would love to see the Cowboys double U-Turn them out of the game).
  7. Yes, there's always hope... hope that new ownership will be here soon.

  9. Not only did he not walk away from the money, he can look forward to a huge payday in court, his ambulance-chasing mother will see to that.
  10. More obvious than ever to me that Martin has no business being in the NFL, at least not until he gets some MAJOR help. Whoever green-lit him as being mentally & emotionally stable enough to be a high draft choice really dropped the ball big-time.... I sure wouldn't trust them to re-evaluate him. At least he has a Stanford education, I wish him well in his future endeavors.
  11. Manning looked very nervous indeed before the game started... and the "bitter Super Bowl face" came out in full after the disastrous first play. The game was for all intents and purposes over at that point. The Broncos needed to rally behind their leader, but their leader was lost in a daze. The rest of the team responded accordingly, and the Seahawks fed on that. Manning is probably the greatest QB ever when it comes to preparation for a game. He is very robotic in nature though, and in times when things don't go according to plan, he isn't very spontaneous at all. Much of that is mental, but some of that is due to his physical limitations (ie. lack of mobility & arm strength), particularly at this late stage of his career. Kaep being a physical freak of nature is better equipped IMO to make things happen in those tough situations where Manning often fails. It's early, but he also appears to have an advantage in leadership traits. Barring serious injury, I can see him getting multiple rings before his career is over, but only time will tell.
  12. Manning was also exposed as a Big Game Chump, but some of us already knew that. OMAHA!

  14. Well, maybe this game will provide TJ with the inspiration and motivation to become elite.
  15. Congrats to Marshawn! Even though I don't really care for him, congrats to Pete Carroll, almost always nice to see an ex-Bill player or coach do good. I don't think TJax really counts though, so I will not congratulate him. Final congrats to the city of Seattle, which I like far more than the city of Denver.
  16. Outstanding news, congrats Andre!
  17. Wow, that would be another shocker. I'll also go with Wade.
  18. Thank you.
  19. Just imagine how non-blind homer Browns fans would react if their team hired a co-ordinator from the Buffalo Bills to be their new HC. Talk about a hard sell to the fanbase... I just can't see this happening.
  20. Wow, that's a shocker. I believe he would be the 1st Bills assistant to be hired away by another team as HC since Marchibroda, Hate to see him go, but good luck if he leaves.
  21. In the AFC, I'll take the money QB, Pats. The NFC game is a much tougher call, but I'll take the Niners and all those weapons.

  23. Super Bowl rings and historical playoff performance matter the most to me, it's all about winning, And yes, I think Bradshaw and Aikman are criminally underrated, I would take either of them in their prime in a playoff game over Fouts, Moon, Marino, or P-Gump. I give P-Gump credit for getting a ring, but his overall playoff performance is severely lacking to me.
  24. Right now, Brady is 18-7 as a starter in the playoffs with 3 rings, P-Gump is 10-11 as a starter In the playoffs with 1 ring. HUGE advantage Brady. If somehow the Broncos were to win this year's SB, Brady would be 18-8 with 3 rings, P-Gump would be 12-11 with 2 rings. BIG advantage Brady If somehow the Broncos were to in the next 2 SBs & the Pats lost in the 1st round, Brady would 18-9 with 3 rings in 5 SB games P-Gump would be 15-11 with 3 rings in 4 SB games. Then it gets debatable. Brady would have a better overall winning % but P-Gump would've gotten his 3 rings in 1 less game. Bottom line, IF P-Gump can get 2 rings in 2 years, I can overlook all the one-and-done's, the epic choke against the Saints, etc. and consider him one of the overall all-time QB greats.... it worked for Elway. But till then, he is still far below & looking up at Montana & Brady.
  25. I'll pick the better post-season QBs to win, even though the sample sizes are pretty small to non-existent on some of them. Saints Pats Niners Chargers
