  1. Has anyone checked on OJ's whereabouts? He is supposed to stay in Nevada but you never know.
  2. I forgot there were actually people calling for "Nall ball".
  3. What happened to the CBA provisions that were supposed to guarantee teams and the league spent a certain minimum % of the cap?
  4. I read it now. The switch was made the year before so it had to be Ferguson.
  5. Shouldn't we say the same about Williams, Gailey, and Jauron then?
  6. These drought threads are short-sighted. what about the following list? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Buffalo_Bills_head_coaches Since Marv represents the "golden age" of the franchise and we have ranked everyone after Wade... Let's see your rankings of those before Marv. Lou Saban Chuck Knox Buster Ramsey ... no clue how to rank the rest... Harvey Johnson Let's hear yours.
  7. I thought it was Vince Ferragamo.
  8. Hmm... Tyrod Fitzpatrick Holcomv Bledsoe Orton Rob Johnson Trent Edwards AVP EJ Manuel Matt Cassel Thad Lewis Jeff Tuel Brian Brohm Nate Peterman I don't really believe in excluding interim QBs. I just used the list from 2001-2017. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Buffalo_Bills_starting_quarterbacks Really though why are we ranking just the drought? It is a random period.
  9. So, in theory, he can go back to that type of thing. Although his better options, assuming he is not retiring, might not be local. I believe this, but it is also amazing to think about. Despite his many other failings and the fact the team was changing coaches (again), he could have remained if he just avoided falling on his face and looking like a total idiot. That does not really say good things about ownership.
  10. Do we know if Brandon liked feet?
  11. Yes, because he is a professional doing a job. I never overcharge or milk my employer but I take my whole paycheck. They offer accidental insurance, which pays me if I am injured on work travel. If I were to choose to pay for that insurance and then I got injured through no fault of my own, I would collect the entire amount with no pangs of conscience. I see this the same way. If they signed a contract fully guaranteed against injury, and had a bonus that was spread out over multiple years, he should collect every dollar he is owed and not a penny more. He is mot voluntarily retiring due to a lack of interest in football, for example, so I do not see a problem with getting paid out.
  12. But, if we pin down our depth, width, and length, will we be uncertain about our momentum?
  13. After looking at Chan's full W/L record I think my view of him was colored by the fact thatbnhis teams were more entertaining and easier to root for. The actual football results were below the other coaches, but I do think organizational dysfunction was near its peak at that time.
  14. Also, there is some evidence that he enjoys a bit of trolling and the occasional ad hominem attack. Maybe it is a good outlet compared to regular work. Is that the end of the world?
  15. The NFL does not have parody. It is not tolerated which is why it has become known as the No Fun League. Otherwise, celebrating a touchdown by pretending to film from behind the goalpost while using the ball as a prop would not draw any fines.
  16. Anyone care to rank them against Kay Stephenson and Hank Bullough?
  17. Marrone... barely above Chan. Chan Mularkey Jauron Williams Ryan Rex Ryan, to me, falls to the bottom of the list even though his results were better than Williams. He acted like a buffoon, allegedly did not put in the effort required, and hired his brother who had just run the worst D in the league and promptly ruijned ours. Everyone else on this list gets credit for trying. It is hard to say whether Mularkey was above Chan, it is possible.
  18. Sometimes people gamble that they can break the agreement "a little" because it just wouldn't be worth the former employer's time to enforce. Just speculating here.
  19. That is true and my point was it would be very unusual for a newspaper to require a gag order (as compared to say a sports team or other organization in the public eye).
  20. A standard non-disparagement and non disclosure agreement would cover not denigrating their employer (I don't think that is likely) and not disclosing confidential business information. It wouldn't be likely to be a complete gag order.
  21. If they wanted the contract to work that way, they should have written it that way. And if they aren't allowed to write it that way because of the CBA, then they should have negotiated the CBA better. I don't believe in "implied intent" in contracts. If he is supposed to pay back the money under the contract, then he should. If it is just implied, no.
  22. He should take whatever he is entitled to in his contract in the event that he suffers a career ending injury playing football and should not give back a single dollar from generosity.
  23. Just because there are many board posters whlith worse attitudes and absolutely terrible ideas, when compared to Sullivan or Gleason, does not mean they were the best choices at TBN. I don't have the level of disdain that some posters do and I wish they would rein it in. Having said that, I also wonder if some of the problem came from the format and need to fill in a certain size of article. I often found Sullivan's columns to start with noting whatever good thing might have happened that week, then spend time returning to the "big picture us bad and they aren't the Patriots" discussion. Perhaps if there was less required content he would have been able to improve on the signal to noise ratio. As it was the team has absolutely been a mess and there was reason to be critical; the problem in my view was endless repetition of the same points (or at least it seemed that way to me). Sullivan wasn't always wrong, I think he was right about Dareus for example and the culture of the team for many years but I got the impression there was nothing they could do to convince him that improvement was possible, at the end. Gleason just had a tendency to sometimes go overboard with lines of attack, really. I didn't make the connection to the same degree as with Jerry but maybe because I follow the Sabres less. Honestly both teams have been a horror show for a long time and did not improve when the Pegulas took over. The Sabres do not even show any real sign of improvement now either. But still I don't see how telling fans "Nice win, but it is false hope, the team still is terrible" after every positive occurrence is a good way to build readership. Once I know what you have to say with certainty before I read your column I guess I get tired of bothering. Maybe others felt the same way.
